Mas prefer ko rin hot wax, to open the pores para mas madali umangat ang mga hairs.

sisses, help!!!! ilang hours before waxing dapat mag-take ng painkiller? also, ano pa ibang alternatives to ibuprofen? kasi parang i remember, nagkaroon ako ng allergic reaction to advil (which is an ibuprofen).

^thanks, sis! nag-research nga ako. one good alternative for Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs or NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen) is Acetaminophen (aka Paracetamol) - kaya bumili agad ko ng Tylenol kanina. :) may intolerance kasi ako sa NSAIDs. :)

i'd have to agree about hot wax. i tried to wax my legs with cold wax for the left leg tapos hot sa right. naubusan kasi ako nung cold halfway. so i was able to compare yung growth. yung left leg may spots na makati. pag tinitingnan ko, parang putol yung hair na tumutubo. kaya siguro makati. baka naputol during waxing. yung right leg normal lang yung growth. walang putol. hindi makati.

I tried diy waxing using strip it. Waah... It doesn't work for me. Pano ba yun? I followed instructions naman. Parang i pulled hair out when i apply the wax. Feeling ko napuputol lang sila at hindi nahihila. Tapos when i used the cloth wala ako nakuha. I think i'd rather have it done by a professional na lang. :/

Hi mamapew.  May I suggest, before you wax the area, sprinkle or put powder on it para matanggal yung oil at mag-adhere lalo yung buhok sa wax.  Then you spread the wax in the direction of hair growth, you put the cloth over and press it down (again in the direction of hair growth), and after 5 seconds, pull the strip in the opposite direction while, at the same time, pulling your skin taut.  Pull the strip close to the skin para di naman ma-traumatize din yung area being waxed.  Hope that helps!

Merong available na hot wax sa SM.  The brands that I am familiar with are Veet and Epilin.  I think Sally Hansen also has hot wax.

@sima: thanks for the instruction sis. Naglagay ako ng powder prior to applying the cold wax pero yun nga, sa lagkit ng wax when i apply it, i'm pulling put hair na rin in the process (parang sa laybare) and i'm afraid if i do it wrong, hindi mag pantay pantay ang pag wax. But i'll give it another shot. Bahala na. :) thanks.

sharing.

Just had my half-leg wax in Lay Bare Market2x, before I used to go to let's face it but this time I decided to try lay bare since mas mura kumpara sa let's face it.

I don't like the procedure, it's painful pala unlike sa let's face it, they just apply the hot wax with spatula then the cloth. With Lay bare, the cold wax needs to be pressed hard against your skin/legs then pull out. I find it painful when they need to pressed the cold wax. parang gigil na gigil yung attendant na gumawa sakin at kahit na pansin na nila na nasasaktan ako, sige lang, nagmamadali silang parehas.
Dalawa yung gumawa sakin,(for my half-leg) kaya ARAY talaga!

I will never go back to Lay Bare. I'll stick to Let's face it kahit pa medyo mahal. :'(

sis meimei,

ang hindi ko talaga kinaya yung kelangan nilang idiin sa skin mo yung cold wax. as in parang gigil na gigil sila parehas. grabe! di na mauulit. mura nga, dami ko namang aray!!! back to let's face it na lang ako kahit pa 7h.

In my experience, the best wax is Depileve.  I have mine done at Nail Tropics.  It removes the hair from the base and since effectively nakukuha yung hair, the pain is kept at a minimum. The therapists at Nail tropics are also good.
I have also tried Lay Bare, probably around 3x, when I didn't want to spend 350 php for ua waxing.. And ang sakit!! Hindi nakukuha lahat ng hair, and most of them napuputol lang, they don't get it from the root.  The therapists are a bit callous, parang nagmamadali..
Sometimes I also do DIY at home with Strip It. It also works wonderfully, it takes the hair from the root. But, my mom does it for me, and I do it for her. Mahirap talaga if you do it alone.. Basta kailangan medyo makapal yung product na ilalagay mo and you let the cloth stay for a several seconds muna without moving it para dumikit..

maganda ba yung veet cream for sensitive skin? yun sana ipapalit ko
