 ;D  while cooking the gelatin sa mainit na tubig (do not wait for the water to boil pa before mo ilagay yung gelatin ha?) medyo mainit will do, then don mo na ihalo yung cream and milk, stir ka lang ng stir para di tumigas.  ;)

What went wrong kaya?   :(

I thought I followed your instruction to the letter kaso di siya tumigas  :'(

I first heat up 4 cups of water using the measuring cup.  I didn't wait for it to boil basta medyo mainit na then I poured in the Mr Gulaman powder.  Stirred till melted then I poured in the Nestle cream, 2 big cans of Alaska Evaporated milk (as was posted in your very first post) and 3/4 big can of Alaska Condensed milk. Stirred til well-mixed.  Then I poured the gulaman mixture to a glass bowl that has alreday pineapple tidbits and some juice.  I stirred again the mixture gently. Then kept it in the fridge.  That was around 9am this morning.  When I came home few minutes ago, I found the mixture is still in its liquid state.. :'( I was going to bring it as dessert tonight sana but I don't think that will happen.  I transferred the bowl to the freezer..desperate move..ha ha   :P  sana tumigas pa!

hmmm try mo kayang sa huli mo ilagay yung water? or like insteasd of 4 cups gawin mong 2 cups. sana pala ng trial and error ka muna, sayang di mo siya naihanda  :-[

^ & ^^..

I heated up 4 cups of water as advised by sis beatrize zuri, I used the measuring cup to measure the water.  I didn't wait for water to boil but made sure it was hot enough before adding in the gulaman powder, stirred it making sure the powder was melted then I added in the Nestle purpose cream, 2 big cans of Alaska evap milk and 3/4 big can of Alaska condensed milk and continued to stir the whole mixture after which I poured the milk/cream/gulaman mixture to a bowl with pineapple bits and a little bit of the pineapple juice in it.  After, I kept the bowl in the fridge at 9am and since I was gone the whole day, I came back almost dinner time kaya medyo disappointed ako di siya nagging jello, kaya in desperation, I transferred the bowl to freezer for almost one hour, at least naging icy siya konti sa top part.  Believe it or not, I didn't want to waste the ingredients kaya dinala ko pa rin sa gathering namin.  But of course naging watery siya ulit since I kept it in a styrofoam box with ice during transport.  Believe it or not again, kahit palpak naubos din siya!   ;D. No one could identify what dessert I brought so I told them it's 'milk with pineapple bits', because it was pinkish in color, so they didn't really buy it so I told them it was supposed to be jello but somehow it didn't come out the way it should but nevertheless, the mixture was yummy kaya naubos din.. :)

Do you think the amount of liquid was the problem?  Cause I just followed what was typed on the first post of this thread.  Nagtataka din nga ako nung hinahalo ko yun powder sa tubig bat hindi siya tumitigas coz I did crema de frutas before and I remembered it didn't take long for the powder/water to jell.

^Sis.. How much milk did you use for 1 sachet of gulaman and 4 cups water?  2 big cans evap and a big can of condensed milk din ba?  Iniisip ko baka sobrang daming liquid from the milk?  Or baka fake ang mr. gulaman nabili ko?  How ironic if that's the case, kasi may naka warning pa sa labas ng sachet 'Beware of Fake!' something to that effect.  Sana hindi naman, cause I bought a whole box pa naman with 10 sachets inside since that's the only one available at Uni Mart at that time.

Sis I tried your recipe last night and masarap nga siya.

Sis Jan and prettykhae-just my opinion lang, baka makatulong..Im into baking din kasi.
1cup = 240 ml
Ideally 1 sachet of Mr.Gulaman good for 6 cups of water for perfect molding (6 cups = 1440ml of liquid)
In Sis beatrize recipe includes
4cups water = 960ml
2cans evap = 740 ml(370 ml each)
2condense= 460ml(300ml and 168)
1 apc = 250ml
total of 2410 ml of liquid.
compare the 2410 ml to 1440 ml.. means ang sobrang daming liquid kaya  baka hindi na siya nagmold..

When I cooked sis beatrize's recipe last night,binantayan ko din..When medyo doubt ako,I added another 1/3 pack of mr gulaman para sure. perfect naman ang kinalabasan niya.sis malalaman niyo naman while still cooking, kumuha kayong konti sa kutsara kailangan magmold siya. you dont have to wait long hours or put in the ref, kasi pag nawala na yung init niya kusa na siyang magmomold.

^^Hi sis prettykhae..  Pareho pala tayo..heh heh..  I felt something wrong na nga din sa umpisa pa lang when I was stirring the powder to melt coz hindi ko na feel yun dapat magiging sticky kahit konti but I thought baka may chance pa mag mold later when given time for all the mixture to 'rest' so I went ahead and poured the cream and milk  ::)

Anyway, I'm not giving up on this yet.  I'll give it another try since I still have 9 sachets left to experiment  ;D.  Will let you know how it turns out.  Wish me luck!  :)

^^His sis rapids..  Your help is very much appreciated!  Thanks!  :)

Sis..  Did you use both 1 big and 1 small cans of condensed milk for this recipe?

I will check if my measuring cup (1 cup) filled with water when poured to a 'measuring pitcher' will reach 240ml level.

May I know if you made one big mold out of this recipe or did you pour the mixture to several small containers?

Will there be a problem in molding if I poured the whole 2410ml liquid mixture to a big glass bowl using sis Beatrize's recipe with the addition of 1/3 gulaman sachet?

May I know when did you notice the powder/water mixture started to mold?

Is it after na pag medyo na feel mo na mag start na maging sticky, that's the time you pour in the cream and milk?

Hope to hear from you again sis  :)  I am planning to bring the same this weekend but this time sana jello na ang consistency kung hindi nakakahiya na..  heh heh  :P

Thanks!
