dun sa DSLR may P dun na setting right? dun ka muna kasi programmed yun to adjust yung ISO to 400 Set mo yung AWB to Cloudy or kung matindi ang sikat ng araw yung Sunny.  Take a landscape shot of it and also take a shot using Law of Thirds. watch out for your lines ha dapat diritsu ba lalo na yung horizons.  for landscape shooting may rule dyan sa ratio ng hati ng sky and sea or sky and land. either 1/3 ng image is sky then 2/3 land/sea or vice versa depende kung ano ang subject mo. it's a no-no to shoot kapag tirik ang araw... the shadows are harsh and destroys your subject's beauty but there are some occasions when it's best to shoot at midday but most of the times avoid shooting at that time.

yung sa wedding kung may lighting I assume yellow light yung gamit nung mga videographer again mag P ka na lang. put out your internal flash (pindutin mo yung button sa gilid para mag pop out sya)
set your ISO to 800. Set your AWB to Tungsten which is to compensate the yellow light. meantime auto focus mo na lang yung lens mo pero kung marunong ka na mag manual focus much better. pero ako pag tamad mode madalas auto focus na lang hehe.  I would recommend na kung may prime lens ka yun na lang gamitin mo adjust it with opening of 1.8 since naka P ka naman magcocompensate na yung speed nun then portrait portrait shots ka hanap ka ng mga pogi. yung mga pretty picturean mo rin pero padala mo sakin. share! lol but seriously, ganda ng portrait shots ng prime lens.

^lol sorry for the post above. nag error. thanks for the acknowledgement. btw if you guys are not aware, hidalgo is where you find original dslr equipments at a very low price may henry's din dun sa glorietta 5. PhP 500 lang daw ang difference nila from henry's hidalgo but then again, there are other shops in hidalgo than henry's ang strategy pala pag mag ca canvass kayo ihuli nyo lagi ang meyers. if you find the best price there bilhin nyo na. masungit daw ang may ari nun lol ayaw ng pabalik balik at tanong ng tanong but on many occasions sya ang may pinakamababang bigay if you're not after your ego and won't feel bad na masungitan. lol

^^sorry for being techie i try to keep the info an an entry level as much as i could. basta ang key lang lagi is to keep on shooting. keep on mixing and discover for yourself. remember beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. so beauty being subjective, if you find your shot beautiful frame it and put it on the wall proudly. happy shooting ^_^

sayang naman ang battery ng nikon ko once lang nagamit yun battery ng d5000 ko kaya im thinking na ibenta na lang yun battery, kasi nagcanon  na ko ngayon medyo parang ang dali madrain ng nikon? sayang medyo sanay na ko sa nikon..

mga sis share niyo naman mga kuha niyo. bakit ganun, pano maging mas malinaw at mas crisp yung mga kuha. kasi napansin ko sa iba, malilinaw parang inedit sa photoshop.

^shoot along the beach or shoot at around 10AM.  maliwanag ang shot pag maliwanag ang lighting. you may also set your ISO higher. P ka lang muna then autofocus. use the preset white balance. good luck!

yung crisp na kuha try mo kung may budget ka bumili ng 50mm na prime lens or manghiram. it has a big opening that would allow you to get sharp images with blurred background.

^ Sis, shooting along the beach has nothing to do with getting a clear and crisp shot.  Also, shooting at 10am would result in high contrast photos because the lighting will already be a bit harsh at that time.  Well, not unless you shoot in a shade but then that makes the time of day irrelevant because you can shoot under a shade anytime as long as the sun is up.

Sis, ano ba specific prob mo sa mga shots mo?  Blurred/soft ba, grainy, under o overexposed?

actually there is! the reflection of the sun through the waters bounces back that will provide natural lighting. 10AM is the best time for sharper and crispier images. if not for you, then it is for me. ^_^

Truth is, you can shoot anywhere anytime and you are probably right if you are just shooting simple vacation photos but if you were going for a more professional look, you shouldn't really use water as reflector as it might cause hot spots on the subject.  Experienced photogs would rather use the sand.  Its quite hard to argue with an amateur who thinks she knows best but for the love of photography, I hope you improve as we all should.

In that sense, even if you shoot along the beach, the angle to get rid of the hotspot would depend on the direction of the light and your position relative to the subject/model.

 guys tanong ko lang about sa memory card ko, ang free space na lang is nasa 400mb na lang from 14gb, eh yung nakita ko lang is nasa 6gb lang na pictures, ngayon hindi ko mahanap yung ibang pictures ko. file na lang nakalagay instead na 103D5100 folder. ano dapat kong gawin andun pa naman boracay pics ko. may pagasa ko pa ba marecover mga yun? thanks

check the buynau online store in FB, or digibabe shops in malls... though they have limited designs lang.

not sure kung meron din yun izod in multiply.

some files might have been hidden due to virus. that happened sa external and flash drive ko. i can't remember how i was able to recover, pero google ko lang yun.

OT: now my problem is my files turned into shortcuts..

^^ OT lang...if your folders/files in your HDD became shortcuts...the files are still there. nangyari na sa akin yan. Hidden lang lahat. and never try to open yung mga shortcuts. Yun kasi shortcut ng virus para kumalat.

If ever ba non-automatic yung prime lens ko madali lang gamitin? or mahirapan ka talaga mag focus sa subject mo.
