try mo na din sis mag post process ng pictures mo... use lightroom 3 mas user friendly compare sa photoshop.... i use both pero mas nadadalian ako sa lightroom....

It helps when you shoot in portrait orientation but I find it too heavy and bulky.

Canon 550d or 600d are good cameras for beginners with excellent video capabilities.

Nikon D5100 is also a good choice if you want an entry level camera that's good with videos.

Videos taken from nikon cameras has a bit of a lag and that is why even die hard nikonians use canon for video.

Am thinking for professional use, yes Canon would be the choice for video, but for a beginner's camera with video, D5100 would be fine. It honestly depends on the needs of the user.

Yes, D5100 would be fine for videos but Canon cameras are way better.  When it comes to taking pictures, it will just boil down to personal preference.

^ You might want to join an online forum for photographers (i.e. DPP or PiPho), or join local clubs.

Easy to understand photography how-to/basics can be found in lots of websites and books. I find that Digital Photography School (website) and Scott Kelby's books are easy to start with when you're still overwhelmed with your DSLR.
