^ nagvisit ako sis, nung 2009. Umuwi ako after almost 2 months, at eto sis ang ngyari. Nasita ako ng inmigation sa airport dito sa dubai kasi nagoverstay ako ng 20+ days ata yun but since ramadan natamaan ang overstay ko, nakalibre ako ng 10 days ata sa penalty ko. So less than 2k aed ang binayaran ko. Wala naman naging problem sakin.

Alam ko yung mga mas delikado ata eh yung mga naka employment visa tapos tumakas sa employer tapos pag nahuli sila, yun ata ang pwedeng makulong. Most din na mga kakagat netong amnesty eh yung mga househelpers na tumakas sa mga amo at gusto nalang umuwi sa pinas. Yung bil ko naman 1month mahigit nag overstay din. Haha. Nagkaproblema kasi yun sa work nya dati.

Bumalik ako dito under na ng visa ng husband ko, sis.

Oo malupit ang inmigration officers nung time na paalis ako saatin. Late na nga ako nun. Take note, 3 lang talaga silang immig officers nun, so kung di ako nakalusot sa ikatlo, malamang di ako natuloy that day. Sa sobrang galit ko, sabi ko tignan ang passport ko, kung mag ttnt ako dapat sa japan nalang ako ng tnt kasi kakagaling ko lang dun a week before ako umalis. Tsk tsk.

^ some of IO sa atin is not so amusing. I have lot's of not so good experience with them, dati when I have a student visa sa Japan, hinanapan ba naman ako ng TOR to prove baka kasi daw fake yung visa ko. Then nung nagvacation ako from Japan dati, they asked for proof aside from my visa so I showed them my alien card. Last summer nung pabalik na kami ni hubby to Abu Dhabi, magkasama kami in front of the IO booth tinanong ba naman ako bat di daw ako nagchange ng surname ko, duda yata if di kami totoong married. Hayzz kakainis, maybe I look so innocent siguro parang inutusan lang na bumili ng suka sa may tindahan.

^^Lahat na yata ng butas na pede nilang makita ichecheck sa yo. I mean, ok given na, na yung mga nagpupunta dito as visit visa sa dubai are looking for jobs.  Hindi ba dapat maging mas masaya pa sila sa kababayan natin na may chance for a better life.  Kung di naman makahanap ng trabaho yan, uuwi din yan sa Pinas.  Kaso ewan ko ba sa Pinas, marami kaseng ang pinapairal eh yung "crab mentality"...

^yes sis, actually dito na ako nagrenew ng passport. Papalitan ko sana surname ko, so I brought our NSO copy ng marriage certificate, kaya lang nung nandun na ako sa Embassy (tadang) kailangan palang DFA authenticated yung marriage certificate (we are married in the Philippines 3 years ago). Di ko alam to, I thought NSO copy was good enough kasi yun lang yung ginamit nung kinuhaan ako ng husband's visa, it was too late to get one din kasi in six months time mag-eexpire na passport ko and nakabook na flight namin so I opted not to change my maiden name nalang. Ayun natanong tuloy eto din yung iniexplain ko dun sa IO.

Sarap ngang sabihan na "kuya di nyo ba alam na optional yung pagchachange ng surname ng babae?"

came in abu dhabi as visit visa on 2005. friend ko ang kumuha ng visa ko sa travel agency dito. nung time pa lang na yon, medyo mahigpit na rin sila. daming reminders sakin ng friend ko noon. but thankfully, i had no problems with the immigration officer sa pinas back then. ang tanong lang sakin "first time mo?" then tinatakan na ang passport ko. pero my hubby, boyfriend back then didn't get the same luck as I had when he came here on 2006. daming tanong daw sa kanya noon pero pinalusot pa rin naman cya..

about the marriage certificate, yes dapat authenticated cya from pinas. when we got married sa pinas on 2009, pinaasikaso ko kagad na i-authenticate cya kasi yun ang valid dito. they won't accept the NSO lang. pina-translate pa nga namin yung arabic yung samin kasi requirement din nila.

dapat ba 6months before maexpire ang passport, iparenew na?

paano mag process ng renewal of passport sa embassy dito? ano kaya requirements? hahanapan paba ulit ng NSO copy or birth certificate and marriage certificate? edi magrerequest pa sa pinas?

^ joyce di n need yung mga yun.  bale tatlong beses ka pupunta una mag pasched isusulat mo lang name mo sa logbook pwede ka na makisuyo kung may kakilala ka na pupunta, 2nd time personal appearance magdala ka na nung form pwede mo iprint online then last na collection nung passport. makikita mo naman sa website kung ready na passport mo. kakarenew lang nung sa pamangkin namin this year.

ah edi papalista muna sa unang punta. tapos sa 2nd punta, passport & form lang dadalin. paano yung picture? magdadala na din ng passport size o sila na magpipicture?
gaano katagal bago makuha yung passport at magkano? hehe.

@j27, yung 6 months sis is if magbabakasyon ka kasi kailangan na yung passport mo may 6 months validity pa. Pag di naman uuwi, I think 3 months before maeexpire ok lang. No need to bring your photo kasi sila na kukuha (digital) sa 2nd balik mo and you can get your passport after a month matapos iprocess. Yung bayad nakalimutan ko na magkano. Sisses, yun mom ko she renewed her passport sa consulate nung August. Pero eto ang steps that she followed:
1) She sent an email to our consulate here requesting for an appointment.
2) After around 10 days, they replied and gave her the appointment. On the email, they gave her a locator # which she should be writing down on her form. Pero on the day itself, first come first serve basis pa rin ang processing.
3) From the date of appointment, parang one month ata ang processing before her passport was released.

Believe it or not, as early as May nag-email na sya sa consulate para nga humingi ng appointment. Limited slots lang kasi per day. They do accept walk-ins ata pero very limited lang din and first come, first serve basis. I have a friend na as early as 5 am tumambay na dun para magka-slot (no kidding! ).
Tapos yun appointment ng mom ko na binigay is for mid-August pa, yan na daw ang earliest available date. Grabe noh? Kaya dapat talaga allot at least 6 months for the renewal process before your passport actually expires. Nakuha nya passport nya in September.

For online appointments, this is the earliest available date for now as we follow a first come, first served policy. You are scheduled for __ August 2012 and your locator number(s) is/are ____.  Write your locator no. on the upper right side of your application form.  Pls. bring:

1. old passport
2. photocopies of first, visa and last pages of old passport
3. 240 dirhams.
4. filled up application form (you may do this in advance or at the consulate general)
5. Photocopy of this e-mail (if possible)

Please wear proper attire:  No slippers, short pants, mini-skirts or sleeveless shirts.

Pls. note that you have to be at the consulate general bet. 8:00- 11 AM. Otherwise you will no longer be a priority. All applicants (even babies) need to personally appear at the consulate.  The consulate is open from 8:00 to 5 PM (break: 12-1 PM), Sunday to Thursday. The number given to you is only an indicator of your reservation and does not mean your priority in the processing.  Processing is on first-come, first-served basis. Pls. download application form at http://www.pcgdubai.net/services/philippine-passports/passport-application-direction/   , answer it completely and properly and bring it on date stated above.  Processing of passport takes about six weeks as passports are made in Manila but this time frame is not guaranteed.  After this period, check availability at passport.pcgdubai.net.  Pls. bring old passport and receipt to claim your new passport.  Note that if you lose you receipt, you will have to pay a corresponding fee.

If you cannot come on your appointment date, kindly e-mail us so we could give your slot to others so your slot will not be wasted.  Note that it is very difficult to change schedules so please try your best to come on the scheduled date given to you.  Otherwise, the next schedule will be two months from your scheduled date.

Sisses, may nagpapunta na ba sa inyo ng relative dito uae na senior citizen na? Kasi yung mom ng friend ko will visit, e sa 20 na sana, kaya lang wala pa syang nakuhang affidavit of support. Kelangan pa ba to maski senior citizen na? Yung parents ko kasi di ko na kinuhanan nun kasi nag via sg sila, e yung mom ng friend ko, direct flight.  Yung lolo naman ng isa kong friend hindi na nirequire affidavit kasi matanda na talaga, mga 80s na siguro, obvious na matanda na, wala na daw mahahanap na work dito if ever kaya confident silang di maghahanap lolo nya ng work.Kung may magpupunta naman po embassy, pasuyo naman pong patanong. 62 pa lang mom ng friend ko. Thanks po!

^sis, yun parents ko kinuhanan namin ng affidavit of support nung nagpunta sila dito nung april. they were both 65 y/o that time. isang affidavit lang para sa kanila.
