hubby and I will be in bangkok on january 8 to january 11! we availed cebu pac's 12 pesos promo last weekend. sayang nga eh yung pauwi lang yung 12 pesos yung papunta regular fare but not bad narin we'll be flying to bangkok 6am on january 8 then will be coming home midnight of january 11 so 4 whole days kami dun! yey ayaw na muna namin ni hubby mag pal eh magulo pa kasi now eh maybe next time pag talagang fully stable and normal na ang operations nila. i'm starting to plan for our itinerary as early as now. i wanna visit grand palace and emerald buddha then i also wanna experience the chao praya dinner cruise. maybe we'll do this on our 2nd day. we are planning to stay at pathumwan princess hotel in siam area. my friend who works in travel agency told me that this is the most "in" place in bangkok nowadays. here's the itinerary that i have in mind right now:

day 1: check in at the hotel at 11am. (hope our room will be available at that time) lunch and shopping at mbk. then shopping at pratunam market and platinum mall. dinner at siam square.

day 2: morning half day grand palace and emerald buddha tour. rest at the hotel then chao praya dinner cruise.

day 3: lunch at siam paragon. we might also try siam ocean world. head to siam discovery to see madame tussauds. dinner at central world plaza.

day 4: hotel check out at 12nn. 1pm to 8pm shopping and food trip in siam area. 8:30 go to the airport for our 12:30am flight back to manila.

any suggestions on our itinerary sisses? meron pa bang ok na puntahan aside from these? what restaurants can you recommend in siam area? thanks

sisses question, hubby and i will be in bkk on november 4-9... and because ive been very busy with work, eto at ngayon ko pa lang inaayos mga bagay bagay... regarding siam niramit sisses, ano ba mas advisable i-book? yung show with dinner lang o yung show with dinner and transfer? necessary ba yung transfer? im booking kasi through hotels2thailand... may masusuggest ba kayong better rate? let me know sisses... thanks in advance!

to those who booked their tours thru oriental escape or hotels2thailand, how is their payment process? thru credit card ba? or you pay when you get there? thanks

gels, Novotel ba ang may best location sa Bangkok? we prefer sana yung may transpo na accessible sa airport, malapit rin sa train system (BTS or MRT). basta, strategic sa shopping centers pati sa train system para mapuntahan ang tourist spots.

any 4-star hotel recommendation? tia!

Sis, my friend recommended pathumwan princess and novotel on siam square to me. Siam daw kasi ang "in" na area dun now eh. Malapit din siya sa bts skytrain.

regarding baha, yes, baha sa thailand, pero outskirts palang ng bangkok ang tinamaan, especially ayutthaya (the old capital, and UNESCO HERITAGE site)...pero as of yesterday, ang balita is, kung babagsak ang ulan next week sa thailand, malamang, pumasok na rin sa mismong bangkok area, kasi lowland siya...kaya the government of thailand is doing all their efforts to put barriers sa bangkok. ang nakita ko sa international news, naglalagay na sila ng mga sako sa bangkok airport...

kaya good luck sa mga pupunta ng bangkok starting this week till december, kasi talagang maulan yata yung season na yan...magdasal kayo ke sta clara na hinde umulan...

@sis kymmm, yes serious po...its all in the news (internet,newspaper, tv, even radio)...

when we went there, tumigil ang ulan, pero a week before that, umuulan, as in, may isang taga gt dito na nagsabi na medy putik-putik silang pumunta ng chatuchak yata...nung nandun kami, umulan pero, as in, patak-patak lang, di ganun kalakas..at nakapunta pa kami ng ayutthaya niyan...pero pagdating namin dito sa pinas, dun bumagsak yung mga malalakas na ulan nila, na talagang parang na-wipe out ang mga temples sa ayutthaya...as in maraming na-closed na mga temples...eh tourist-destination pa naman ang ayutthaya sa kanila. lagpas ulo din kasi yata yung baha...kaya the government is really doing all their efforts na huwag makarating sa bangkok, kasi mamatay ang turista nila...may isa pang province sa thailand ang natamaan din ng baha, chang-mai yata...eh isa rin tourist haven din yan sa thailand...

kaya pasalamat talaga kami, na early sept kami pumunta ng thailand...kundi either naabutan kami ng mga ulan na yan, or di kami makalipad dahil nagkakagulo ang PAL (PAL kasi ang sinakyan namin na airplane...)

when we went there din pala, we brought along our umbrellas and also rain coat...for precaution...and also lots of wet wipes and alcohol...:-)

dahil sa sa typhoon yung baha sa bangkok sisses? sa january kami punta sa bangkok. sana naman by that time di na maulan sa bangkok. lalo na sana walang baha

@sis lorraine, jan 10-14 travel dates namin to BKK you're sure to stay in princess, right? ill try to convince bf na dun nalang rin kami. ok na ok sya for me. shangri la kasi is in silom diba? although it's very near the BTS, dko sure kung ano ang establishments na walking distance sa area. research pa ko.

@sis khymm, tama si sis yby try to go through the previous threads. mahirap pero marami ka matututunan in planning your future trips abroad pag nagbaback read ako, katabi ko si google at tripadvisor para macheck ko if swak sakin yung recommendation ng mga sisses.

I'm excited to visit BKK next year March. Malayo pa. I need to find return tickets. One way pa lang nabili ko sa Cebu Pacific. Anong magandang pasalubong from BKK?

@sis lorraine, jan 10-14 travel dates namin to BKK you're sure to stay in princess, right? ill try to convince bf na dun nalang rin kami. ok na ok sya for me. shangri la kasi is in silom diba? although it's very near the BTS, dko sure kung ano ang establishments na walking distance sa area. research pa ko.

hi sis! i'm still choosing between pathumwan princess and novotel siam square. i like princess more but novotel is cheaper. hehe. but the reviews of pathumwan in tripadvisor is far way better than that of novotel. i'm still torn between these two

Thanks sis! kaso nagdadalawang isip pa ko pumunta don.. kasi december 1-4 tentatives dates of travel namin eh baka maulan.. sayang naman ang punta, maputik daw.. baka Hong Kong na lang.. hayy..

@sis nymphadora-pasalubong? naku ang dami...ang daming mura dun sis...from tshirts, blouses, personal things...and most especially food...ang binili namin na pasalubong to our mom eh food...yung mga meatballs-meatballs nila...sarap...may dala lang kaming mga tupperware para dun namin nilipat...ako i bought bra, mura kasi ang wacoal dun, dun kasi galing, blouses (bought inside their grocery store, although mas mura sa mga tiangge nila,pwede ka pang tumawad), i bought also a kung-fu shoes...:-) comfortable sa paa, yun binili ko sa tiangge..and yung mga personnal things like mga lotion and all, mura din dun...

better go to chatuchak weekend market, kung gusto mo talagang makamura...may sapatos nga for doggies there, 100 baht lang, sayang nga at di pa namin binili for our dog...nagdalawang isip kasi kami sa size, eh dito sa pinas, 1 pair, parang 2k yata...and mura dun ang ensure ng php500...kaya tuwang-tuwa ang nanay ko...:-)

regarding pocket money, well, depende kasi sa iyo kung magastos ka...pero siyempre bangkok is shopping haven, so sayang naman kung di ka mag-shop...lahat nga ng nakasabay namin pabalik, sa airport, grabe, makikita mong excess baggage sila...buti na lang kami hinde, pero mahirap nang isara yung bagahe ko...dahil sa mga noodles...namakyaw kasi kami...at pasalubong na rin...

more on food ang mga pasalubong namin...ang sarap kasi mag-grocery dun...yung mismong mga blouses and shoes, shirt...ang dami kasi sa greenhills nun eh...dun naman sa mga sosyal na mga malls, ok rin naman ang mga items nila...

ang maganda kasi sa bangkok, you can shop from high end to low end (bargain centers) and more or less, magkakatabi lang sila...kaya kahit sabihin mo na maglalakad ka lang, hay naku, bet ko, paguwi niyo sa hotel niyo, ang dami niyo nang bitbit...:-) kaya advice ko sa iyo, bring an extra luggage, you'll never know, kaya nung nage-empake na kami, naku,sabi ko, baka magbayad tayo ng extra kasi di na masarado ang mga luggages namin...:-)

tapos aliw din sa aiport nila, kasi ang dami pa rin shops...:-)
