Sis, platinum mall closes at 10pm based on the website ok lang yun sis mukhang ok naman sa pathumwan princess eh excited narin ako for next week

going to bkk in June. sana matuloy this time hehe.  eto muna mga tanong ko mga sis:

1. anong hostel/hotel ang marerecommend nyo na more or less e katumbas ng golden crown or taisan guesthouse ng hkg (i.e. safe, clean, inexpensive and right in the heart of downtown )?

2. ano mode of transpo to/from airport? may airport express din ba sila like hkg?

^^ @princesslorraine, I stayed at the hotel across Platinum Mall and as I recall, maaga siya mag-close, definitely earlier than 10 pm, unless nagbago ang mall hours niya ha.   Parang 7 pm pa lang, medyo nagpa-pack-up na ang karamihan sa stalls sa Platinum.   I was in BKK March 2011.

Sa Pathumwan Princess ka ba?  Masarap daw ang breakfast diyan.  Plan ko, pag bumalik kami ni hubby, diyan ako mag-bu-book.

Hi sis marose ay early closing pala ang platinum mall sa www.bangkok.com ko nakita yung 10pm eh baka it's not accurate. Yes sis we will be staying at pathumwan princess hotel excited na ako for our bangkok trip next week! I have not really finalized our itinerary though

^ For me, Bangkok is a place for eating and shopping.     Incidental na lang ang sight-seeing.   Oh, I had a foot spa pala in a spa inside Central World mall.  Ang sarap!  Nakaka-rejuvenate.

sis lakwatsa: For me cheapo na yun MyHotel, about 2 streets away from Platinum, if i remember right per night is about 1500 for twin sharing na. May buffet breakfast nadin. Free tuktuk going to Main street. yun cab from airport to hotel would be about 300-400baht

I would go back to Bangkok,  hopefully end of this year OR next year

bangkok talaga is for food and shopping...

yung MBK, platinum and pratanum, parang 168/greenhills talaga...chatuchak is like divisoria naman pero mas cheaper dun...kaya nga heaven sa mga nagba-buy and sell ang bangkok...

regarding grocery shopping, heaven din siya...para kasi siyang walmart, target and kmart ang dating...ang daming choices...lahat ng flavors ng lays nandun...and ofcourse, cheaper siya...kasi parang say 15baht lang siya dun, dito sa pinas, its almost like 60pesos plus...eh ang 1 baht is like what now, parang 1.7 pesos lang...

kaya pag pupunta kayo ng bangkok, kailangan maraming dalang pera para satisfied ang shopping experience niyo...and ofcourse, magdala ng collapsible na extra bag/luggage para sa mga pinagshoppingan...and expect traffic sa immigration sa thailand airport, dahil lahat ng umaalis ng thailand, ang daming dala...:-)

when ba usually may promo seat offer ang CEBU or Airphils for Thailand? okay ba pumunta dun mga August or September?

Thanks so much sis yby2476 lalo akong naexcite sa bangkok trip namin naku 15k baht lang pocket money namin ni hubby for food and shopping! Magdadala nalang din ako ng usd just in case mapasarap shopping namin dun! Excited narin ako sa chichirya! Haha

True about the long lines sa airport!  Mabuti at maaga kami last time kasi more than 1 hour bago kami natapos mag-line up, check in sa counter and do the departure requirements.  Yung ibang foreigners na kasabay namin muntik maiwanan ng plane sa haba ng pila.

Ang sarap mag-cosmetics shopping sa Bangkok airport.  5 ang counters ng Chanel haha.  May Jo Malone pa and lots of good stuff.

One thing to consider, is the possibility of being over the allowed limit for baggage

You can opt to use CARGO service (50baht per kilo, minimum of 50kilo it  think) RATHER THAN the 450baht/kilo in the airport
 Bring lots and lots of money. Sarap sarap mag shopping  and kumain talaga. I do not eat street foods here ha, pero don, sige lang , 5 baht per stick, go

Pack light going to bkk, for sure, pag uwi nyo, bigat ng dala nyo

@haley james-when we went there around sept...maulan siya...pero yung week na pumunta kami, dun lang daw tumigil ang ulan...we got the PAL promo around july...mga around 10k plus ang nagastos namin for 5 days PAL fare with hotel na yun...lagi naman may promo ang cebu, ang air phils walang biyahe pa papunta ng thailand...sg and hk lang palang sila...if you want the PAL promo, always watch out around may or june for their sobrang ok na promo, travelling time around october to november...yung july na promo ng PAL last year, nagkataon lang na meron, kasi 77 yrs nila last year, marami silang promo nung time na yun...


yes, pack light pag punta niyo ng bkk, para atleast di mag-over sa baggage...kami muntik na, di na nga namin ma-closed yung mga luggages namin sa sobrang dami nang pinamili...dapat pala binili namin yung luggage na nakita namin sa mbk nun, pang extra lang,mura lang naman siya around 1k baht...kaso isip ko, sayang naman yung 1k...:-)

marami kaming beses na nagsabi na "sayang, sana bumili kami ng extra" nung pabalik namin ng pinas...:-) dahil sa sobrang mura nga ng mga bilihin...:-) kaya next time, lam na namin ang gagawin...:-)

^thanks for the tips, sis. 20 kgs lang kami per head ni hubby so baka bumili na lang din kami ng extra overnight bag. we plan to buy food as pasalubong for co-workers and relatives so medyo madami-dami din. May limit ba yung pwedeng dalhin na pagkain papunta dito?

If you are taking Cebu Pacific, you can add naman sa weight limit ng baggage pauwi.  Just go to your itinerary page tapos edit lang ninyo ang details then dagdagan ang baggage limit pauwi. May additional P200 lang yata.

Mga sis,

I need help in doing our itinerary for Bangkok...We'll be arriving on Feb. 18 (12 am) & will leave on Feb 22 (midnight) kaya lumalabas na 4 whole days lang kami dun...

here's what i'm thinking to do:
Day 1 (Feb 18) whole day tour
Day 2 (Feb 19) whole day shopping
Day 3 (Feb 20) Half-day tour/Food tripping
Day 4 (Feb 21) Relaxation/shopping

What marerecommend niyo na maganda at worth it na whole day Tour?
What din for half-day tour? If possible one day lang sana ang temple...

^ Whole day tour - usually a visit to Ayutthaya
