there is a temporary pause on sponsorship applications for parents and in turn the govt will issue a super visa. yes, its a tourist visa with i think 10yrs validity. but the children who will sponsor must also provide a medical insurance for the parents which can be a bit costly.

diba sis matagal na yung super visa?. i've read that months ago

^yes sis medyo matagal na itong super visa, i think it was implemented a year ago na rin.

i agree with the govt issuing this kind of visa, kasi totoo naman that it will cost the govt millions on the healthcare alone of the elderly.

^you know you should inform them right?  if you're not completely honest with your application, then that can be use against you in the future. when you're going to do the spousal sponsorship, you can't deny the date of marriage. that alone is a big question na.  "bakit hindi mo in-update?! may pagkakataon kang i-update ang status mo, blah blah blah"

deliberately doing it will not do you any good. just be honest and update.

i have a friend who actually did that.  she passed her application feb2010. she got married summer of that year. hindi nya in-update status nya.  come 2012, she received a letter from immigration to update her work and personal status. sept 2012, wala pang nari-receive ang mister nya na notice to have the medical.  yung mga [textspeak!] nyang single noon, one year na silang PR. yung mga nakasabay nyang 2 may pamilya, kararating lang nung isang pamilya. yung isang pamilya naman may interview sa embassy sa pinas, at for visa "stamping" na.

pwede mong hindi i-update eh. KUNG citizen ng canada o PR na yung pinaksalan mo.

if you can't trust my word, call the immigration. goodluck.

lol.nurse siya  then   nagstudy as caregiver something diyan sa canada.BUT i've heard mas madali makapunta abroad if teacher ang profession..

kaso hindi ka na single. and you can't lie about it.  and there's a 'rule' to update.  yung address nga pinapa-update, e di mas lalo na ang marital status. kasi it'll affect your pr.

you can never outsmart the immigration. just something to think about.

Sa case namin, 2008-2009 nakapasok ang application ng then-bf (now hubby ko) for PR. We wanted to get married na sana noong 2009 kaso nga dahil kasalukuyang on-process ang PR nya, we decided not to. Kasi nga may need to update the status. Eh ayaw na namin ng kahit anong delay that time so we didn't risk it. Nagpakasal na lang kami nung PR na siya.

Hello everyone, my parents are planning to get tourist visa. My sister invited them to go there. They will visit my sister and her family in Edmonton. My sister and her husband will shoulder all the expenses when my parents get there. My parents are both retired and in their 60s already. Our problem now is that they recently sold their house because they are just staying with us now. So, wala silang property ngayon except for my dad's motorcycle and their 2 cemetery lots but they have 100k in their savings account and another 100k time deposit.

What are my parents chances of getting tourist visa?

yes,mostly naman eh nabibigyan ng cahnace ang mag senior citizen kase di na naman sila makakapaghanap pa ng work sa canada or mag-iisip na mag TNT or whatever...kaya if stable naman ang sister mo dun eh malaki ang chance nila to be approve...

correct! and i think the burden ng proof of funds will lie on the sponsor and not the applicant. kung meron man sa applicant eh konti lang.

required ba na may medical insurance ang tourist visa dito? brother ko caregiver and required sya na may 3 mos. med insurance, eh kung tutuusin pagdating nya dito the next day pwede na kami mag-apply for his medicare, so bale magagamit mo lang med insurance mo sa gamot.
