Hello mga sis...just came here in Edmonton 1 week ago...we came from Dubai,na transfer yung work ni husband dito sa Edmonton temp working visa kami...Currently we are staying in a motel provided by my husband's company.After 1 month maghahanap na kami ng apartment,san ba magandang place magrent dito sa Edmonton, work ni husband sa Nisku,gusto ko sana yung malapit sa church,school saka mga shopping centers and supermarket...I'm thinking also na magpart time ako san ba pwede magapply? Thnaks sa magrereply...see you around...

Hassle lang, I have my employers na as child caregiver/nanny.. Kaso nagmamadali sila papuntahin ako dun. Eh ang tagal lang ng process sa pagkuha ng LMO.. I tried contacting my cousins in Canada na kung pwede padalhan nila ako ng Letter of Invitation para magtourist visa na lang ako then fly agad sa employers after ko sila imeet dun. Okay na rin ang show money, kaso di sumasagot yung pinsan ko..

Hi khymmmm darling I'm actually based in Canada but I came here w my family as immigrants in 2001. Just sharing a story similar to yours. My bestfriend's family attempted to come here last year as tourists. They all got approved no problem except for the sister. She handed in a working visa application to Canada way long back 2003 and her application is still pending for some reasons. She got denied for a tourist visa confusing the embassy of possibly staying here illegally. I suggest you ask your employer if they can do a follow up for you- they should be able to call the immigration in Canada and ask how far your name is on their list. xx

Question sa mga sis na nasa Canada. Malaki ba ang chance na makakuha ng job na similar sa field mo dito sa atin? Nakuha na kasi ako ng job offer pero malayo sa field ko ngayon. Sabi ng sister ko pagdating ko dun tsaka na lang ako mag-apply ng job na related sa course ko. Iniisip ko lang kung may chance ba or super hirap kapag wala kang Canadian experience?

Hi ning_kuting! of course you can get the job here close to your field but it takes a lot of work to gain that position. One thing about Canadians is that they prefer ppl who went to school here, etc. They always ask for credentials which of course is recognized in Canada but don't worry it's not always like that in all provinces. It really depends on the province where you want to settle. In Toronto at least, the competition is pretty steep. My only advice for you is not to expect too much about what kind of job to get cus majority of the job here can pay the bills and you can still afford little shopping here and there. What's important is how you get here and your willingness to take any job as a start. Yes it does take a lot of humbleness to start from a job you never thought u can ever do but once you're here, it's easy to move up or shift fields again. You just need to be patient and continuously work hard for it =) Good luck!

Ms Kwang sun Cost of living in TO is pretty high than other provinces but there are areas in TO u can find cheaper apartments naman Food in Canada overall is pretty cheap. Every week may mga sale din the groceries, you'll get flyers every week for heads up at Hindi Ito tira tira para Lang mabenta so ok sya... Tyaga Lang dear sa pag basa ng flyers & they can price match items for you kahit ang store ay Hindi sale and this applies to almost stores from grocery, clothing, electronics etc.
