i am a registered nurse but without experience training lang sa PGH for 6 mos, i am also an HRM graduate. Dahil desperado na talaga akong mag canada, im thinking of applying as a caregiber or as a crew or dh na lang, nagpatulong ako sa mga pinsan ko, sabi mag immigrant na lang daw. e angmahal naman ng show money di ba, at matagal din ang paghihintay. please help, di ko na alam kung [textspeak!] gagawin ko:(

^ sis, if withing the last 10 years, u have continuous work in a hotel industry, pwede ka mag apply. if you want to pursuea nursing career, that is up to you. But you need to have an experience and be a licensed passer like LPN, NCLEX or CGFNS. For hotels, ou can check out indeed.com, search for hotels and location is fairview, alberta. dami hiring ngayon. if di ka lang mamimili ng job, of course.

charmedlady: pareho pala tayo ng kapalaran, mas masuwerte ka dahil nakapag hotel ka, yun talaga ang dream ko at nasa puso ko kaya lang maliit lang ako.  sana makapag work ako sa hotel in Canada kahit sa housekeeping lang then kung papalarin mag aral ng nursing dun para makapag work as a nurse.

roxykarlo: di naman ako mapili sa type of job,  sana makapag work ako sa canada na hindi masyado mayelo:) kasi di ko kaya ang masyadong  malamig, saan kaya pwede?

if you're trying to come here in canada, it'll do you good if you are active in the nursing field right now.  i know a few here in [textspeak!] who landed a nursing job a few months upon their arrival here.  i don't exactly know the process but it's a big advantage if you are active in the nurse field before your arrival in cnada

ang mahirap kasi sa dami ng nursing graduates dito sa philippines kahit pagvovoluntir na wlang bayad may politika pa rin, kailangan may koneksyon. so saan naman kami pipirmi, kahit mataas board rating namin or galing sa magandang school pahirapan pa rin. kung voluntir sa maliit na hospital, wala ng bayad, pagod pagod pa.kung sa malaking hospital  naman palakasan talaga, di na tumatanggap sa mga public hospital sa manila e:( nakapila kaya ako before sa ospital ng manila, pati pahinugod ng pgh [textspeak!] pa rin, tinawagan ko na fabella [textspeak!] din. hayy naku

^sis, you can try for other jobs naman. ikaw na nagsabi kahit caregiver, crew or dh, ok lang sayo. highly competitive din kasi talaga ang selection ng nurses sa canada. eh diba nga, doctors dito sa pilipinas, nagnunurse para lang makapag US or Canada. pag nasa canada ka na, saka ka na lang magpursue ng nursing career, pwede ka magtake ng refresher or something then take their licensure exam.i know you dont like cold weather pero mas malaki daw ang bayad sa colder areas kasi ayaw ng canadians tumanggap ng nursing job doon. 

i have a friend who took an agency para makakuha sya ng work sa canada sa hotel pero that was like 5 years ago pa. ill check if i can reach her. her bf did the same.

^there are other factors for granting a visa especially an immigrant status. pwedeng someone sponsored him/her or malaki ang show money, assets etc. you said immigrant, so via provincial nominee ba sya? if provincial nominee kasi, point system sya. hindi lang based sa work dito sa philippines pero syempre factor sya. saka quebec sya eh, baka plus points din if nag-aral sya ng french. kung skilled worker and aapplyan, panigurado magbabackground check ang immigration ng canada if totoo ang lahat ng papers na submitted.

once landed, hindi guarantee ang work as a nurse right away dahil may licensure pa yan just like here in the philippines at iba ang standards nila so he/she might take a few courses again before landing in a nursing job. pwedeng magcaregiver din while waiting.

i actually wouldnt suggest to anyone to fake papers especially in securing a visa to canada or to any other part of the world. delikado kasi, hindi mo alam ang magiging consequences, you might be refused entry forever. but still up to you naman. but since you said na galing ka ng UK (tama ba?) medyo malaki na yung chances mo in going to canada if nakapagwork ka na sa ibang bansa. and UK is a good country din naman diba?

^Pag immigrant kasi ang application, i would assume na via provincial nominee ito so permanent resident ang visa. pag ganun, she can go to canada even without assurance na may tabaho sya. pag dating dun saka pa lang sya maghahanap ng work, kahit anong work. pag via skilled worker ang visa, eto syempre dapat may guaranteed work, meaning kaya pupunta ng canada is may work na naghihintay sa kanya doon. if may mga sisses na mas knowledgeable pagdating sa visa, pacorrect na lang ako if mali. 

caregiver kasi is pwedeng certificate lang. si MIL kasi ang alam ko nagcaregiver din yun for a while eh. nagtake sye ng course for a few months tapos nagwork as caregiver. pero engineer sya sa pilipinas. pero she's in a totally different profession now, sa accounting na sya. once nasa canada ka na, continuous leraning talaga, aral lang for certificates. or gusto mo magcollege ka na lang ulit and take up nursing para sa credentials eh graduate ka ng degree sa canadian college or university. pero for some kasi na nakapagwork na abroad, mas madali to get the same job to another country. maybe because, proven sila to have passed international standards diba? pwedeng pwede ka naman maging nurse sa canada kung gusto mo talaga yun pero expect a long and rigid process. ganun naman ang success, sipag at tyaga at swerte. pero true, malaki ang sweldo ng nurses sa canada. sabi ni hubby, the big houses na malapit sa kanila eh usually nurses na pinoy ang may ari, for one malaki ang sweldo, two, pag pinoy laging nag oovertime. hehe

if i may ask, graduate ka na ba from nursing?

she was in Pinas when she applied. iba't-iba ang time frame for LMO sis. i remember my cousin waited for 8weeks before she received a positive LMO, while my hubby received it in 3weeks lang. it all depends on the employer and HRSDC. wag lang mainip, ganyan talaga pag applying abroad, we are considered kasi foreign workers kaya matagal ang processing times.

she applied on the internet. i also had job offers na rin sa mcdo, since i'm from mcdo before, but i cannot take it, since i cannot leave my baby kasi he's just 1year old. kaya si hubby na lang pinaapply ko. regarding sa company na inapplyan mo ngayon na mcdo, it is direct hire -- meaning they will shoulder all expenses except medicals and visa application fees, alongwith other personal requirements. once you have completed all of these, they will be the one to give you the plane ticket and accomodation there.
