Ako rin, I want to go to Canada! May question po ako, pag ba magaapply for a work permit, ok lang ba na 1-year contract lang yung job offer or kailangan ba permanent job ang kailangan?

the application process is so frustrating. we've submitted our application dec. 2005, but til now we haven't gotten any update from the embassy.  the last letter they sent us was 2008 where they were asking if we are still interested to pursue our application or just cancel and refund our payment... duhhh......

the waiting has cost us lost opportunities. my husband, the principal applicant, and the one very eager to go to canada, has lost interest.

the embassy's been changing rules and turn around time, and it's so unfair. applicants who have submitted applications just last year have already migrated, while, the others who have submitted more than 5 years are still here and waiting......

^i hear you sis... we have a friend migrated this year after 6 months processing while another family friend is still waiting for more than 4-5 years. mas mabuti pa yata if you cancel the application and re-apply again than wait for another 3-5 years?

Yup, better to reapply. Pero come to think of it, it's not our right naman to enter their country, it's a privelege. At the end of the day, sila pa rin ang may last say. The reason why they are changing their rules is to improve the turnaround time. Syempre mas uunahin nila those that they really need

maybe youc an give them a call and ask them why your processing is taking too long

follow ups are not encouraged, i heard kapag nag follow up lalo nilang tinatagalan.  i dont think they're changing rules to improve turn around time or to qualify who they need most, my husband's skill scored very high when we did the "qualifying test". his profession, education and family all living in canada were big factors. a friend of mine who used to work at the embassy said, [textspeak!] mga nag apply ng 2008 below are processed here in the phils. kaya sobrang tagal, while those who applied 2008 above are processed in novascasia, canada kaya mabilis na.

if we cancel and re apply, sayang [textspeak!] processing fee we paid, medyo malaki kasi buong family kami nag apply, di na ma re refund.

i just hope na sana malaman na namin [textspeak!] decision, whether approve or disapprove. para wala na kaming mapalagpas na opportunity because we need to consider our canadian visa application.

Madali lang naman siguro. Magresearch ka na sis ng mga prospect companies you will contact. You can look for them in jobbank.ca, workopolis, etc job sites

Ang kasalukuyan yatang pina-process ngayon, FSW applicants na nag-submit ng last quarter ng 2004 to early 2005.

Naging mabilis ang processing ng mga nag-apply simula noong 2008 kung kailan unang naglabas ang Citizenship and Immigration Canada ng list ng NOC na eligible for immigrant visa. Na-prioritize yung mga nasa list kaya ang mga applicants, nakakakuha agad ng visa in just 6 months. Pero yung mga nag-apply before 2008, sobrang tagal naman ng pinaghihintay. Maraming nag-apply ng late 2004 na hanggang ngayon wala pa ring visa. Sana man lang, na-prioritize din yung mga nag-apply before 2008 kung pasok naman sa  NOC list ang NOC nila.

I'm planning to go to Winnipeg din. I was supposed to submit all my documents this year kaso di na nakaabot ang IELTS ko, ang bilis pala mapuno ang NURSE kaya wait na lang ako by next year. Hopefully kasama pa rin ang NURSE sa list of occupations nila sa FSW.

actually, im on spouse visa. mag-ielts na nga dapat sana ako kaso sabi hubby and ni MIA eh wag muna kasi hindi daw lahat ng work required ang ielts. if gusto ko daw mag aral, yun talaga required.. eh sabi ko magwork muna ako ng kahit ano muna.

Question sa mga sis na nasa Canada. Malaki ba ang chance na makakuha ng job na similar sa field mo dito sa atin? Nakuha na kasi ako ng job offer pero malayo sa field ko ngayon. Sabi ng sister ko pagdating ko dun tsaka na lang ako mag-apply ng job na related sa course ko. Iniisip ko lang kung may chance ba or super hirap kapag wala kang Canadian experience?
