All about mattresses

Hi sisters! I need help on buying a new mattress. The mattress I've been using is a 10-year-old ordinary Uratex foam. Although firm pa naman sya, napansin ko lang na sumasakit na yung likod ko. I'm thinking of buying a memory foam from Uratex or Mandaue Foam.

Any tips on buying a mattress? What mattress are you using? Are you satisfied with it?

i am using uratex permahard mattress. am uber duper satisfied with it. it is designed for people prone to backache

this one has 7 years warranty, yellow in color.

Mandaue Foam - 2" memory foam, 4" perma/flex or something.. srp daw is 10k but sold at 7k at the last warehouse sale at megamall. they took 2 weeks though, made-to-order.
super ok naman when we got our mattress from mandaue foam. not too hard, not too soft. just right. much nicer than my entry-level uratex, but that was really comfy for me too.

personally, i'm not a fan of spring mattress. parang ang ingay kasi and ang bouncy. i got to try my aunt's tempur mattress and it is to die for.

try out mattresses do you prefer yung mas firm? or try mo din memory foam or memory mattress topper.

recently married and we're using this japanese orthopedic spring mattress. so far so good, i used to have trouble sleeping (finding the area and position pa) but this one, takes us a few mins, and we're off to dreamland-- that comfortable.

the mattress has also this special feature that adjusts to the temperature (warm when its cold, and cool when its hot) ....bought at milano for about P15k, king size with protective pads na.

I'm using orthocare mattress from uratex. Nasa 13k+ ata sya nung nabili ko, size nya is double. Bought this last year lang and may 7years din syang warranty

Sisters, thank you for your replies! Question lang, what's the difference between a memory foam and an orthopedic mattress? I want kase a mattress that could support my back, pero hindi naman ganun katigas.

^^memory foam is visco-elastic foam created by nasa. it moulds to anything but still retain it's density and viscosity. it contours to the body thereby reducing aches and pains one feels upon waking up in the morning.  tempur uses memory foam and uratex too on its senso memory foam mattress.

we are using uratex queen-size orthocare mattress and it uses high-density polyurethane foam naman. quality and function is similar to memory foam but it's much cheaper. i got it for around 18-20k at uratex alabang.

Dati sumasakit din yung likod ko and nahihirapan ako makatulog on foam mattresses.  Ngayon okay na, I'm very happy with the Ambassador orthopedic bed that I bought.  Mas pricey nga lang siya than yung foam mattress, but worth it naman kasi hindi na sujmasakit yung likod ko.

Bought sleep comfort mattress at uratex marikina warehouse. It was 15% off so from arnd P13k, P11k na lang for a full size mattress. I had to have the mattress customized pa by having 2 inches lopped off the height [textspeak!] my bed is antique wooden one na hindi standard ang measurements. There was no additional charge and free pa ang delivery.

The sleep comfort mattress is a foam mattress with two inches of memory foam on top. It has the same characteristics as a memory foam mattress but a bit firmer. I initially wanted to buy the memory foam mattress but when i tried it sa uratex marikina, parang nalulunod ang feeling ko. So opted for the sleep comfort na lang.

If you're going to buy a uratex mattress, i suggest buy from their warehouse. Ang laki ng price difference from the malls. Tsaka lagi pa sila may sale so cheaper talaga.

^i agree sis. that's why we intentionally went to uratex alabang. anyway free delivery naman sila.

@jarjarbinks:  Sorry for the late reply, haven't been able to go online for a bit now.  Sabi nga nila maraming hotels gumagamit ng Ambassador na mattresses, I just don't know how many hotels or which ones.  Ang ginawa ko kasi nung bumibili ako ng mattress e hinihigaan ko talaga yung mga units sa showroom to get a feel kung okay nga talaga.  Ayun, swerte naman at tama ang napili ko

my wife and i bought an 8-inch "perfect serenity" foam and she likes it very much.  Her bestfriend also likes it but unfortunately, i dont.  I find it too hard for me.  She said it's very good for her back.  The first time i slept on it, i didnt like it.  Even when i was testing it prior to buying it, i didnt find it comfortable.  But she did so i gave way.  But now, im thinking of buying a single 2" memory foam to place on top of the PS foam so i will enjoy sleeping more. 

I prefer a foam that contours to my body.  sideways pa man din ako matulog kaya kailangan ko talaga ng malambot na lumulubog ako.  Though i have to admit, medyo masakit nga matulog sa super malambot kasi nung tinest ko sa uratex warehouse, parang sumakit ang likod ko pero check ko ulit kung sumasakit nga talaga.

I guess it depends din on your condition, like if may scoliosis ka or something.  When I was younger kaya ko matulog sa foam mattress, ilang years ko ginawa yun.  But now, at most siguro I can sleep on one for a couple of nights in a row, after nun wala na.  Actually kahit nga ilang oras lang ako matulog sa foam mattress e nagigising ako kasi sumasakit yung katawan ko, uncomfy siya.

Ours is the Uratex Comfort Quilt with Banig lang. Di ko pa afford bumili ng super ka dooper mahal na mattress. 6" QueenSize mattress. Sarap matulog! Budget friendly din pede na for P6100.

I also bought Uratex Perfect Serenity na 8-inch, queen size on Tues. Hanggang April 30 pa yung sale nila. Sa may marikina ako bumili.  Lahat ng showrooms, sale pa.
