I saw the first episode, didn't liked it. Medyo na-cornyhan kasi ako haha Still, pinanuod ko second episode and I liked it. Pero let's see, baka kasi see-saw ito sa akin. Maganda-pangit maganda-pangit.

I didn't watch the 2nd episode. The first few scenes of the pilot were funny but it dragged on for me. Pilit yung pagka-quirky ni Zooey though she's cute. The bar scene was hard to watch for me- you just know she's trying to be funny. The 3 guys fade into the background too. The hot best friend is...hot haha. I like her. I'll watch the 2nd epi this weekend. If I don't like it, pass for me 'to.

Feeling ko ang laki ng lugi ng Fox this season lol.

^The 2nd episode may mga funny moments like yung sa ex ni Zooey (still don't know her character's name haha) pero may iba na parang 1st episode pa rin ang feel.

i was like "meh" when i saw the pilot too.

 its too cutesy for my taste, and i am starting to get annoyed at how they're still milking all the "hipster manic pixie dream girl" schtick with Zooey Deschanel.

i didn't find anything else funny in it either, but i downloaded the 2nd one so i went ahead and watched it  anyway... then i find out the hot roommate was gone on the second episode. :/

i dunno, i don't see this show running for a long time.

yeah i think this'll get cancelled compared to the the other shows they canned that had more promise.

the show doesn't run smooth nakakacringe some scenes with weak comebacks or  dead air or parts that lacked follow through. they hyped it to much and gave away the best scenes for the pilot so while watching it kinda became a drab.  siguro if zooey was quirkier, super nerdy and/ or naive  she'd pull it off better--but then better scriptwriting din ang kelangan--and for the rest parang you need to watch a few more episodes for them to grow on you.

tho i like that it has heart  maybe its a show that isn't supposed to be funny hilarious as we've grown to liking other straight up comedy shows.

i'm still up for the third, more of curious to see how it all goes.

On the contrary, it's already gotten a full season order from this batch of new TV shows for this season, the first to get one in fact. Other new programs are still waiting their fate.

It's doing well in the ratings, so far. One of the Top 15 programs the last 2 weeks (old and new shows, nakikipagsabayan siya).

Fox's move to release the pilot episode way before it's air date worked, that NBC is following it and releasing advance episodes of two their comedies online rin. Baka sakaling pumick-up.

But I do agree with you that Jess' antics is going to get pretty old.

Plus, I really have a dilemma, in that, if it's going to continue to win with viewers and get a season 2, she can't be called the "new girl" anymore, can she?

Also, producer pala si Zooey dito mismo. She's one of the bossings of the crew and helps call the shots. Something is working for New Girl, even with its novelty wearing off eventually.

I watched til the 2nd episode. I liked Zooey kasi sa 500 Days... pero since I started watching some of her movies, pansin ko lang parang iisa lang ang atake nya sa roles niya kahit different characters. Kahit sa interviews hehe. Anyway, sana mas interesting ang mga next episodes...

kasali ako sa minority na gusto 'to. or  bias lang ako kasi fan talaga ko ni zooey so kahit ano yatang gawin niya, gusto ko. lol

i watched the pilot na. i see what the others are saying. parang pilit yung humor niya. i think the positive response for this show is coming from the general likability of zooey.

story-wise, i think the presmise has promise. (nadadama ko na ang potential flame between jess and nick) wag lang sana pilitin yung character ni jess. i kinda feel that she's overdoing the socially akward quirk kasi eh.

kinda reminds me of chuck (the series). ybut for him, it feels very natural yung pagka akward niya.

anyway, will watch the 2nd episode in a few.

just watched the second episode. i like it better than the first. way less pilit moments. i'm staying for a 3rd.

ang labo lang biglang nawala si coach. i did some research and the guy who plays him couldn't stay after the series got picked up kasi may show na siyang iba.

^ Happy Endings is Coach's new show. And he's made a good choice, mas may chance tumagal yung Happy Endings (just started Season 2 this week). Hehe. At buti na lang hindi katapat ng New Girl. Although I like Coach's role in New Girl better than his role in Happy Endings. 

@rakirod - that's exactly what others are saying - iisa lang umarte is Zooey. But I do agree with pixiedust that she is generally likeable. Like her a lot, too.

Ang tagal na rin kasing pinipilit si Zooey gumawa ng TV show, when her sister (si Bones) is doing really, really well with hers. Guess she thinks New Girl is the best vehicle for her for TV.
