Gymboree and Kindermusik.. Feedback please

Hi mommies & daddies,

My daughter is 2 years old, planning to enroll her sa playschool sana.. Ano mas ok, Gymboree or Kindermusik?  Mas expensive nga lang ang Gymboree, pero am thinking of enrolling my daughter in 3 classes (play&learn,music and art) just in case sa Gymboree.. Or yung one class sa Kindermusik is enough na?

Help please?  Or sobra naman yung 3 classes for my daughter?

^I'm also torn between Kindermusik and Gymboree. Pag 2 years old na my daughter saka ko sya ie-enroll. Between the 2, mas madameng good feedback akong narinig with Kindermusik cus it's more structured daw. However, mejo malayo yung mga nago-offer ng Kindermusik samin, unlike Gymboree na meron sa eastwood.

my son attended both, parehong ok depende sa bata.  pero mas gusto ng son ko sa kindermusik kasi maraming kanta kanta.  pero we still go to gymboree for gymplay

same with sis Wave, attended both, pero mas gusto ko ang Kindermusik. yung mga vouchers ko from gymboree never nagamit, sayang lang.

my 4yo daughter has been a Gymbo kid since she was 6mos. She took Kindermusik too for a while but the travel time going to class discouraged us from continuing with it. Ok din naman ang lesson ng Kindermusik.

The key siguro to Gymboree is finding the right class that fits your kid's personality. If he's the type that enjoys music, then enroll him in music class. If he's the type who likes running/moving around, the play and learn class is a better fit for him. When my daughter first enrolled in the music class, she didnt enjoy it. Siguro kasi she was at her kalikutan stage and she didnt like the idea of just sitting and singing. A big shock for her since she was used to the play and learn class.

Now for the lack of structure...i think Gymbo follows some sort of a lesson plan. Their music, play and learn and art class changes every 2 weeks. For learning lab, every 12 weeks ata. For example, for 2 weeks their music class will tackle Caribbean Music then it will switch to European then Broadway. Siguro before enrolling, ask na lang the teacher if when are they starting a new "topic". I think for Kindermusik, their lesson plan ata is longer.

When my daughter was nearing 3, we decided to enroll her in their preschool program cause we wanted her to do something productive during day time. We initially wanted to enroll her in Learning Lab but as advised by T. Jill after 12 weeks, they will just repeat the lesson. So after 12 weeks, wala na naman gagawin ang daughter ko. For the Preschool Program, they have a lesson plan good for a year. It follows a whole academic year just like in the other schools. Their lessons follow a timeline but since their approach to teaching is progressive, learning pa din is based on the student's own pace. They have one on one time if a kid seems to have a hard time catching up with the lesson.

Aside from the usual lessons of letters and numbers, they have a progression of topics. Like for this year, they started learning about "Myself". So here they included topics about their body parts, etc. Then they moved to "My Family" then to "My Community" etc. Then for each topic, they have accompanying activities for it. Like they scheduled their Family Day during the time they were discussing "My Family". Then when they were discussing "My Community" they scheduled a walking trip where they visited the Police and Fire stations (they got to ride a real fire truck) and the Goldilocks Plan (to learn about the bakers). Their Filipino Day was scheduled around the time after they discussed "My Country". They made an MTV where they were singing traditional songs like (Tong tong tong) to pop music like Kabataang Pinoy of Itchyworms.

Now, they're tackling one continent per week. Last week they were discussing Australia. So with that the teacher introduce the Great Barrier reef. For their art class they made art on the rocks just like the aborigines. Then for this week, they are discussing about Europe.

depende talaga sa bata kung saan sila mageenjoy and magrerespond,  better to try both since may trial class naman sila inooffer and decide based sa reaction ng kiddos natin.

i think sa gymboree it's worth 500 tapos sa kindermusik free yung 1 trial class.

15 sessions of kindermusik is worth 9K++ which includes 2 books and 2 cds of songs.  My son has 4 books na which he wants us to read every night before going to sleep. 

I don't know the regular rate of gymboree since I availed the ensogo voucher lang

Thanks for all the inputs. My daughter has tried their trial class na at Kindermusik.  She enjoyed it naman, actually nung end ng class, she cried pa nga kasi kinuha na yung hulahoops. Hehe.  We'll try rin Gymboree, if san mas ok sa daughter ko.  Pero sa distance, mas ok ang Kindermusik since they have a class now at BF Homes.  Kaloka lang kasi nalilito ako since both have good feedbacks.

buti nalang i came across this thread. i'm also torn between the two, but we'll most probably go with kindermusik. the only problem is travel time, since nasa cubao pa.

the closest Gymboree to BF is in westgate alabang.

Gymboree has trial classes. P500 per trial and they have to be scheduled at least a day in advance...kahit itawag lang.

the good thing about these trial classes is, you and your child will get to participate in the actual class already. plus, the P500 can be deducted from the enrolment fee.

I enrolled my daughter last year at the Gymboree, Westgate for their Nursery Class. I honestly would say that it was a waste of money or maybe I enrolled her to the wrong Play-center. The teachers were very nice, but my daughter didnt really learn much while playing or at least memorize the Alphabet. I wasnt expecting them to give the kids examination but at least make them play while learning. My daughter left there without knowing even half the alphabet, so was her classmates. The rest of them also transferred. I would've just brought her to another playing center for less than what I paid for. I paid about, if not mistaken 65k or 75k for 2.5-3hrs class 3x/week only to play.. sometimes the teacher would end the class on time.

i haven't tried Gymboree yet. Na-curious ako sa kindermusic ha..malapit lang sa place namin. my baby is 2 years and 4 months. she used to play alone, or with adult, I have bought vouchers for Habits of the mind in Timog, i have 5 vouchers, i have used 1, and ayaw pa kasi paiwan ni baby e, gusto niya nasa loob din ako, more on play, sing and they ate together, one at a time paint session.  ok naman, pero i prefer having 2 teachers for 6 kiddos.. i may check kindermusic.

My son also tried Gymboree and Kindermusik. And we choose Kindermusik kahit mas malayo samin, kasi yung son namin is sobrang hyperactive, nag try kami sa Gymboree sobrang likot nya since marami syang nakikita hindi sya nakikinig sa teacher(or kung ano man tawag sakanila  ) and hinahayaan lang din nila yung ilang mga bata mag play during class. Since kalat yung materials nila di nila mapigilan ang mga bata lalo na kung playful masyado. Ang nangyari pa noon sa sobrang likot ng anak ko nasubsob sya dun sa slides.

So sabi ni hubby, let's try sa Kindermusik. What I like about Kindermusik is yung mga materials nila ilalabas lang kung kelan kailangan, saka mas magaling sila mag catch ng attention ng bata, kahit na may katabing playroom hindi nahahati yung attention ng bata focus lang sila sa ginagawa nila. Kaya mas pinili namin sa Kindermusik.

hi sis saiwai saang kindermusik kayo? i want to try din kindermusik since mas maganda din ang feedback ng friend ko sa kindermusik vs gymboree.. mag 2 yr old na son ko this april 17 and sobrang clingy niya sakin and pagnagtantrums grabe so iniisip ko na ienroll siya kahit playschool lang para makita niya yung ibang bata and after class pwede ko iexplain sa kanya kung pano nagbehave mga classmates niya..and hopefully mabawasan ang tantrums niya.

gusto ko din sana maimprove comm skills niya.

sana may magfeedback pa dito sa mga naging experience nila with kindermusik and gymboree pagdating sa improvement ng bata lalo na sa communication skills nila.. thank you..

^Sis dun kami malapit sa Regalia Park Towers sa Cubao. Yes sis yung son namin sobrang nag improve yung behavior nya nung nag class sya dun. Marunong na sya mag share sa ibang bata. Ibabalik namin sya ulit this Sept. para naman maimprove pa lalo yung communication skills nya. Saka since mag 3 sya sobrang sumpungin kagaya nga ng sa baby mo rin. Malaki naman tiwala ko na mababago yun pag binalik namin sya sa Kindermusik

Mga mommies, how early pwede mag-start sa Gymboree or sa Kindermusik?

^hi sis alam ko as early as 6mos pwede na.
yung son ko 2 na this april ienroll ko muna ng summer class ng kindermusik this may sa the fort branch nila.. wiggle and grow.. ill try first and then if ok siya baka ituloy tuloy ko na siya ienroll..

^ Oh, pwede pala ganyan kabata... makapag-inquire nga.. mag-1y/o daughter ko sa May, baka June ipa-start ko sya. Kahit once or twice a week lang muna..
