We were at the French Embassy yesterday morning to process my spouse visa (even if my existing visa is still valid til year).  The woman at the Window 5 was busy scolding a lot of applicants who were late for their appointments - I overheard her telling a very old lady 'If you can and intend to travel to France, then you can surely make it here for your appointment on time. Do you think the pilot will wait for you if you are late for your flight?'

Anyway, the spouse visa is free and they only needed photocopies of our passports, our livret de famille (marriage book) & marriage certificate. 1 week processing time lang din.

Ako naman tsaka yung kasama ko, ibang embassy ang inapplyan. Ako sa Italian embassy, siya sa German embassy. And the funny thing was? No allowance was given for our travel dates. Kung ano yung booking namin sa flight reservation, yun yung binigay, so..... Ingat sa mga may reservation na hindi pa sure yung dates na aalis kayo. Pareho kami sa "exact" dates. Grabe lang. ako 12 days, kasama ko 28 days. (hindi kami sabay umalis).

Sisses, question lang about insurance. Planning to get the 30,000 Euro coverage from Blue Cross for 39 Euros including HK layover. Is that a good price? Or cheaper ba sa ibang insurance companies?

^standard talaga ang EUR30,000 na coverage for Europe and the premium will always depend on the length/duration of your trip plus your age at the time of travel.Halos pareho lang ang mga premiums with other accredited insurance companies. Our 23 day coverage with Blue Cross this recent trip cost us a little over 2K.

I got our 15-day coverage from Worldwide Travel Insurance for 1,360 inclusive of 20% discount (original price 1,700) kasi I asked for it nung namimigay sila ng flyer nung travel fair. They don't really advertise it but it doesn't hurt to ask pero don ako sa office nila sa Makati nag purchase. Hindi naman hassle for me bec it's near our place. After paying them, they gave me Certification for the embassy, wallet size travel card insurance and of course the insurance plan policy.

Nung time na I was looking for the cheapest insurance, Blue Cross yung pinaka cheapest then you can apply and pay for it online https://secure.bluecross.com.ph/OQAPv2Prod/CheckEmail.aspx But, I can't vouch for this since I didnt avail it. If denied yung application, you can refund your money back. Some other insurance agencies will deduct processing fee but for worldwide and blue cross 100% refund  just present the  letter from the embassy.

^im not sure if this is OT but i love and will be loyal to blue cross! no hassle on claims my dad had a heart attack last year before their paris trip and we were able to refund in full the flights and non-refundable accom of both my parents and my sister who was travelling with them. when my luggage was off loaded and delivered 1 day after our arrival, i was also able to claim baggage delay.

Same here loyal to blue cross plus ang mura mura pa. Not just on Euro trips but they have Asia & US too.

just finished our spanish embassy vfs submission/appearance

would anyone know how long it takes for the spanish embassy gives their decision?

nainis lang ako ng konti sa agency namin, pwede naman pala sana no appearance kami kasi meron kami schengen visa last year.

okay, we just received an sms that our "processed visa application forms" are ready for collection at the spanish vfs center --- ang bilis!!

we just had an appearance early monday, and today our docs (i'm guessing passports) are ready for collection.

does this mean our visa was approved??

is it that fast to print out the visa sticker? hehe

my officemate is telling me we are approved, since denials usually take a longer time to be processed, and usually denials come after the consul interviews you and was not satisfied.

May appearance pa rin pala sa Spain embassy? I initially called VSF and was informed no appearance na raw if holder of valid US visa. But didn't push through since the longest stay in our iti is France talaga.

^thank you! nainis nga ako sa travel agency namin kasi pinapunta pa kami. we are holders of a valid us visa, uk visa, and recently expired schengen. Pwede no appearance na. I just found out when we were at the vsf center. Buti at less than 20 mins kami, pero syempre hassle pag punta dun.

we'll be in barcelona jan.7 prague muna kami right after new year ano iti nyo?

schengen visa is valid for 3 months lang right? Were planning to fly on March 15. Abot ba if I apply on January 15? We'll be in China from the 1st to 14th.

CX tickets are 200 usd cheaper if we fly on or before the 15th of March. That's 400 usd savings din for my husband and I.

not the duration of stay sis but the validity of the visa itself from the day of issuance would be how many months? It will be my first time so I assume I will only be granted a single entry visa. 3 months ba or 6 months siya valid?

I'm thinking kasi of applying this December but would it be too early if my date of departure would be on March 15th?
