Finally got my visa from the German Embassy. I was pleasantly surprised it only took 3 days!

Just finished our interview with the French embassy. We were advised to go back next week to pick up our passports at 12nn. Yayyyy! The waiting time begins!

Is it true from what I read that applicants who are denied are called first to pick up their passport while those approved are called late, considering the cut of time is 12nn. I am being optimistic! Hahahaha. Anyway glad that the application process is over. Kakastress rin ha!

To answer your question, apart from bank statements I also submitted my ITR form and certifcate of employment to the German embassy. When I inquired before, the lady from the Visa section told me that they are more particular about your rootedness here in the Philippines. So if you have a business, you need to show them the docs na may business ka. Gusto lang nila malaman if babalik ka pa ng pinas.

They're pretty straightforward. If you have a friend who will sponsor you, your sponsor will have to send you a Formal Obligation. In my case, my friend's mum gave me the obligation since my friend is still a student with no income yet.

Sharing our interview with the French embassy last Friday October 5 at 8am

Arrived at around 7am, we were too early and was asked to go back at the basement of Pacific Star Bldg at 7:45am. We just hang at Starbucks to kill time

At around 745am, we were allowed to go up na. I was expecting an organized chaos lol. There were no seats outside the French emb office, it was a relatively small office.

They were calling the group tours first so I guess mas priority nila ang group tours?

Step 1 Cashier with presentation of some docs.
I say some kase you will not show all documents. Good thing I read up here that we will only show some of docs, bec there was no instruction given. Had I not go near the cashier, I will not know pa na certain docs lang ang needed.

We were advised that we'll be called again for the next process. 

Few mins after, we were called on Window 3. For the biometrics and interview. Surprising that both windows are both Filipina, there were no French consuls around.

The interview went like this;
VO: so all you have been to the US and have valid US VISAS
A: yes, the 2 of us have expired US visas except for me   Which has 10yrs visa

VO: how come you did not renew your visas all together?

Me: because I had to go to the US for work so i had to apply alone and that time they (my parents & brother) don't have any plans on going to the US

VO: make sure you submit all photocopies of your visas

VO asked our iti, where we were going. Since I prepared our itis I answered it.
She also asked me & my brother how long we were working for the fam biz and that was it.

Finally she said: Ok im gonna give back your passport on ___ at 12nn.
I read somewhere that denied applicants are usually released first, considering cut off time of the embassy is 12nn. I'm hoping this is a legitimate observation LOL

I think the US visa (or any other) visa has bearing at all.

So now this is the longest week of our lives! Hahahaha

okay na yan! i think you will not have any problem and yes, i really feel if you have a us visa and you did not maximize your stay in the us you will not have any problem

^^ Czech embassy 12noon din yung scheduled pick up namin and we got approved visas. I hope our sisses can reply para madebunk yung myth na pag 12 noon onwards approved    pero I think it has to do with their consular services operating hours kasi madami pa silang work after.

we've applied sa french, greek, czech and spanish embassy and all passport pick ups were in the afternoon na and all of our visas were approved

^ sis when did you applied? I think they change process every now and then.
Dati, they give back passport and return on certain date, now they get your passports na.

With regards to denied applicants, my tita was denied for a schengen under French embassy and hers was scheduled to be released at 9am.

mga sis, we are applying at Italian Embassy, ilang araw po kaya bago namin mareceive ang visa? at paano malaman kung approve o hindi?

Happy to share our visas were approved!

Napakatipid ng duration, 30days for our 21 day trip. Oh well better than being denied and
not bad for a first time applicant!

My first time to get a Schengen visa I was also given a very short one, parang may allowance lang na three days for a 10 day trip. That was with the Austrian embassy. Sa French embassy medyo galante pa sila magbigay ng duration.

Special shutout to @mamasqueak for being super helpful since I started arranging our docs.

We didn't get a travel agent/consultant and everything was arranged by me, knowing the stringent application process, my moms friends says i can be consultant na raw hahaha.
They are askin me na to help them in their 'future' application LOL.

Anyway now that our visas are granted, is it safe to
Cancel our mocked bookings already via Booking.com?
Im hoping this is no bearing na right?

@summer_princess: congratulations!! yes i think it should be okay to cancel your mock bookings if you will not really need it. ang tipid ng french embassy! last year we were given 60 days. pero kahit ilang days, ang important approved!! yahoo!!

@andee_gurl: im not really sure but it might it might be an advantage, especially if you've been using your us visa, since it will show you go back after your vacation

^ oo nga sis ngayon Lang ako naka tanggap ng ganyang super short validity visa.
I've 2 US visa and that is 3mos each, then finally my 10yr visa.
Australian visa rin short stay at 3mos. 

I hope that they are not deterring legitimate travellers with how tipid they are.

Anyway sa super excitement ko upon hearing from the female consul that we got approved. Wala sinabi na we should go back upon our return. Do we have to go back kahit wala sinabi? Is that standard?

Also, I noticed that the female Filipina consul (of the French emb) is the one who approves visa already. Name nya ang nakalgay sa visa namin, so Hindi Lang pala sila filter, they've power to issue visa already.

^^ is that the chinese looking young girl? she's from my alma mater, and she actually recognized me. hahahaha, nakakatuwa nga (ng konti). maybe she will be the one to release the visa? that's why her signature is there?

i don't you need to go back after your trip if they did not tell you. an officemate had to return but he was told he needed to go back right after he arrrives (next day after arrival).
