sa Current Occupation sa Application Form ano kaya lagay ko N.A. or Full Time Mom?? :-)

And yung sa mga FOLDERS, diba 1 folder for the copies and 1 folder for the ORIGINAL, 3 kc kami, me, my husband and my son, so medyo bulky na ata yun, ok lang ba na 1 folder nlng for all of us for our originals, and sa photocopies na folder nlng kami mag tig-iisa or talagang mag 2 folders each kami???sabay ba hihigin nang consul yung original and photocopies? or we will just hand him the photocopies tapos wait lang if ever kung hihingin nya yung original?

Hubby and I had our interview at the French embassy this morning and it was quick lang. Our appointment was at 8AM and we arrived before 7:30 at the basement parking. We were asked to fill out security forms by the building admin to be surrendered at the guard before going up to the 16th floor where the French embassy is located. Prepare a valid ID to be surrendered at the guard together with the security form. For families or couples applying together pwede na just one ID. Just before 7:45 we were asked to go up na.

At the 16th floor we lined up together with the other applicants just outside of the Visa section and at exactly 8AM a guard came out with a list and started calling out names of those with an appointment to enter the holding area. We were number 2 on the list. At the ante room, we had to surrender our mobile phones and iPads. Then on to the mismong holding area.

After a few minutes our number was called to one counter. The guy got our valid passports and checked our application forms and documents. Sya na rin naningil ng payments for the visa. He then gave us back everything except for our passports. We were then asked to have a seat and wait for our number to be called this time for the interview and biometrics.

After 5 minutes, we were called to another counter with a lady staff who had our passports. She gave us our OR for the visa payment and asked for our application forms and documents. After taking our biometrics she asked us about our itinerary, departure/arrival dates, where we were staying in France (di tinanong yung hotels namin in Amsterdam and Prague). Make sure you indicate the complete address of the hotels and telephone numbers (they're very particular with these details). Also if you had any Schengen visas that was issued before make sure you bring them too. I had to leave my old passport with my recently expired Schengen visa with them. This was attached to my valid passport.

After a bit more checking of our documents, she then told us to come back on the 12th Sep to pick up our passports. We were done by 8:40! Bilis!

^ sis is that already the actual interview? As in not like with the US embassy na kind of nerve-wracking for first timers? Hehhe.

On the first time you applied with the French embassy, parang US visa NIV interview rin ba? Or mas stringer? I'm kind of beefing up my Fam members na for our appointment.

@summer_princess, the first counter we went to parang preliminary interview to just check kung kumpleto mga dala namin na documents. The second counter where your biometrics will be taken was the actual interview. The questions were more about our itinerary kaya you really have to know your itinerary. Plus dapat kumpleto address and contact numbers ng hotel in France (not so much the other places). Kakatawa nga since I did all the planning I did all the talking din since ang alam lang ni hubby is kelan kami aalis and dadating plus sya ang magbabayad lahat   

And no, the interview was not nerve wracking even during my first application with them. Probably because kasama ko si hubby who was applying for a business visa. He was going to pick up a plane from Airbus Industrie that time. Di sila matanong specially if you have a business sponsor from France and of course kumpleto sa documento.

@sammm, what cover letter do you need? Just do the cover letter of intent/purpose. No need to do the other letters, own initiative ko lang naman yun. Just make sure though you have a detailed itinerary of your trip from start date to end date. Complete details ka rin with the hotel addresses particularly in France.

Oh and about the current occupation, you can write down "housewife". I recently retired and that's what I wrote on my application form.

^ How would one know if you're denied/approve? Do they return passport once denied?

good morning, i was new here sa page, may ask lang ako anyone can answer or help me to this issue: may appointment kme tomorrow ng boyfriend ko for french visa, shoulder nya lahat ng gastos, do u think may possibility ba na madenied ako due to lack of bank account? big issue ba yon pay ganon? please accomodate me, kinakabahan kasi ko e for tomorrow.. thanks

@summer_princess - they will give you a letter along with your passport if your visa application is denied.

Sis another Question on application for #32. Do we indicate ALL Schengen hotels were staying or just the for France only?

^France lang. The other hotels you can write them down in your detailed itinerary.

i forgot what i wrote down last year when we applied at the french embassy (but i think i just wrote down our rented apartment in paris).

do i need to indicate all the hotels and their address? the space is so small! can i write down the complete address of the hotels at the bottom of the page?

@mamasqueak: what time sa Sept 12 ka mag claim ng passport mo? Sept 12 din sa amin 12noon. diba 12noon sila mag close?

akala ko hindi allowed mga travel agency reps to assist inside the embassy , pwede pala...............

@foxymom, sent you a sample cover letter. You can just write one hotel with complete address and contact number on the application form. Then write down all the other hotels in your detailed itinerary.


@sammm, yup we also claim our passport ng Sep 12 at 12 noon. Pwede naman ang travel agent mag assist but what for easy lang naman to DIY it. Sa US embassy lang ang alam ko na hindi pwede sa loob ang travel agent.

Sisses vital ba ang attestation for application? Bec my tita says dami pa raw ek ek if she needs to get this attestation, the city hall will measure pa raw the place if it's conducive to entertain a guest, income blah blah. We don't want to hassle someone na rin.

Are hotel bookings, enough? Or may bearing talga ang attestation?

Do they ask if we know anyone from there? Thing is, we know except that we're not staying with them. Baka hanapan pa ako ng papers about our contacts in France

^Actually mas mahirap pa nga if you declare na you have a sponsor in EU kasi marami talaga silang documents na hahanapin both from you and from your sponsor. If you don't want to be hassled pati na rin your tita better declare na you'll be paying your own way while in EU. Now if you do this you will have to show the embassy that you have enough money to support your stay there. In short dapat substantial ang bank account mo. Plus you will have to show them your hotel booking confirmation.

@Summer princess: We had Attestation de Accueil. and the questions asked were more about our sponsor in France. with regards to if mas may bearing kung may Attestation, I think its case to case basis.

@summer_princess: yes, your tita would need to secure that from the city hall. She will be asked to submit other documents (financial docs like bank accounts, payslips, proof of billing from utility companies - to prove that they are legally residing there and have good credit standing) plus as your tita said they will need to check the house if it's big enough to host people. The form also costs 40 euros.

I had 1 application without attestation & 2 with attestation.
In any case, even if you have an attestation - you still need to present your bank docs, ITR, payslip because the attestation will only replace the hotel bookings requirement.

@mamasqueak good to know sis. Actually from the start we really figure out na wag na mag hassle to our titas, enough na That they will tour us around & prolly some lunches. But then it equates having to show more financial docs. Good thing na rin our business involves everyday banking transaction so our monies isn't stagnant. Anyhow, kailangan pa ba ng land titles & car registrations? Would it help if shown? Or just bring in ever. We don't want to show too much assets naman.

Yikes! So the attestion is just as good as hotel. Thanks sayang Lang ang oras ng titas ill just book online for the basis of the interview. I can easily tweak/ Cancel that anyways. At least we didn't hassle anyone.

Btw as per bank Cert/Passport. How much is the minimum amount does one has to have? Minimum of 200K? I don't intend to spend that much though. That is exclusive of airfare as weve prepaid already.
