Observe lang parati and try to be informed with their diseases para may idea tayo sa mga nangyayare sa kanila. Magtanong din about treatments na ginawa ng vets kasi minsan may palpak na vet at pwede pa yung magpalala ng situation. Mas okay na ready and informed tayo bago pa magpunta sa vet, and always keep a dextrose powder or sugar in handy for their first aid treatment.
Mahirap pa naman pag nagkadistemper, super haba, gastos at hirap ng gamutan. Tapos most vets pa wouldn't accept your dog because it's highly contagious at di rin nila alam pano gamutin. Some would even advise to euthanize the dog kasi forever na daw yung virus sa system nila, yung vets naman na tatanggap sayo di ka daw iaallow sa loob ng clinic kasi nga baka mahawa yung iba, so ang gamutan baka sa parking lang daw. Imagine gaano kahirap yung situation if ever mangyare yan, may sakit na nga ang aso mo at umiiyak ka na, pero restricted kayo sa clinic
Alala ko yung time na sinabi ng vet sakin na kahit makarecover, kailangan ieuthanize na dahil forever ng carrier yung dog. Umiiyak ako araw-araw kasi narealize ko na kahit super sakit, it's the right thing to do dahil kawawa yung ibang aso na mahahawa. I even asked God bakit nya ako pinapahirapan eh eversince nakuha ko yung aso, ako lang talaga nagalaga sa kanya. He is a bulldog, and this breed is very high maintenance, para kang may alagang bata talaga. They're super sensitive, from digestion to skin to breathing problems lahat na kalaban nila kahit weather maselan sila. My dog is even on fan 24/7 dahil takot ako baka heatstroke sa init ng weather natin. Then one day, God answered my prayers, biglang may vet clinic na natayo malapit samin, then I found out from other pet owners na meron na ngang cure, so ayun I saved for it. So while she's doing check-up with my tzu, nabanggit ko yung bulldog ko. Then she said gawa tayo ng test, she even knows yung treatment ng distemper, so feeling ko sya na nga ang answer to my prayers haha! Then while waiting for the test results, hinahanda ko na rin sarili ko sa maririnig ko pati yung magagastos sa medication and blood transfusion, I think aabutin ng 10k to get rid of the virus completely, after a few hours nagtext sya to go to the clinic para maexplain nyang mabuti. Then sabi nya nandoon pa rin daw yung distemper, but di ito dahil infected pa sya, it is because recent yung vaccines nya kaya mataas yung antibodies against diseases and the live virus from the vaccines, pero nawala na daw yung virus at safe na sya haha! I was so happy that day, kulang na lang lumutang ako sa ulap habang pauwi LOL! Ilang months din nakaquarantine yung aso kong yun, para syang may aids. Sabi pa kahit makarecover, muscle twitchings will stay forever, nandyan yung gagalaw-galaw yung limbs at parang lagi silang may chinechew for no reason, pero di ko talaga alam kung ano nangyare, miracle ata ito dahil yung muscle twitchings nya nawala, healthy siya ngayon at maliksi, pero yung nose at foot pads di na naging okay, rough and hard na talaga. Pero keri na yan coz I know that he is free from the virus now at di na rin sya makakahawa, yan ang mas importante sakin
Reminder ulit mga sisters, there is a cure na for parvo and distemper. Maghanap kayo ng ibang vet asap kung di nila kayo tanggapin dahil time ang kalaban natin dito, the earlier you bring them to the vet, the higher the possiblity na makasurvive sila. And ingat parati when you bring them out, and sorry sa haba I just felt the need to share this haha!
