^sis, kakatapos lang ng SEO job niya. he's looking for another project. hindi naman siya puwede maghanap ng permanent job kasi he plans to study next year.

i feel sad for the parents and students who invested a lot of time and money sa nursing course tapos wala rin naman makukuha dahil sa volunteer thing na yan. the government should do something about it. ang hirap yata ng nursing course para lang masayang ang utak ng students. tsk tsk. it's really not practical to take up nursing nowadays. kahit brother ko sabi sana nag-engineering na lang siya but for now, he has his eyes set on taking the NMAT this year.

to the TS, i hope maging okay na lahat ng plans mo. everything will turn out right.

hindi naman kasi talaga lahat ng gusto natin yun ang nangyayari.. minsan kelangan natin maging practical sa buhay at mag survive..

POV ng accounting grad na IT auditor ngayon.. pero ang original dream is to be a psychologist MD..
oh.. ang layo diba? hehe.. ;D you just have to stick it out!  8)

Sis I really agree on your post. I am an accountant but my dream is to be a psychologist din or a teacher.. hehe.  Kailangang mahalin eh, kailangang maging practical. Sayang ang time at gastos. Siguro pagbigyan mo muna sila. Pag may ways and means ka na at sure ka na kung ano gusto mo, then you can pursue it.

Hmmm..what can i say? :) im a registered nurse and a physical therapist..:) first, i graduated bspt and took the boards..i started looking for a job, pero nga naman, sa isang hospital ilan lang ang PT na need nila? 5 -10 maximum..and ilan kaming PT sa buong pinas? Hindi ko naisip yon noon..So habang bata pa ako non, my mom and i decided that i should take a second course which is bsn..i spent 2 yrs in nursing school (na credit yung iba kong subjects sa PT) kaso before ako nag graduate...toink! I got pregnant..:( imagine-in nyo na lang mukha ng mother ko nung time na yon..pero continue ko pa rin, nag board exam ako, dere derecho yun..i rested after giving birth then luckily, na hire ako agad as staff nurse..gang sa nkapag abroad ako and ngayon nga full time mom na lang..

my point here sis, is just to follow your heart..ano ba talaga gusto mo? Di ba dream mo nga maging nurse? Baka naman youre just upset or disappointed kasi mahirap sa ngayon makahanap ng position as staff nurse, nakaka depress talaga na walang permanent job sis..and dont worry, kasi ako or kahit sino naman, dumadating din sa pagka shunga lalo na pagka newbie pa lang.. :) ako  5 yrs sa delivery and nicu here and abroad, kahit anung case ng mother and babies sisiw lang sa akin..

Ay sis, ako before ako mag enrol ng nursing nag novena ako sa baclaran, just to enlighten my mind kung ano ba talaga..parang i asked for a sign pa yata noon e..  Try mo sis..or if youre not a catholic, pray ka lang para makapag isip isip ka..talk to HIM.. Nakikita ko kasi sarili ko sayo non..i hope i was able to help..:)

what schools can I enroll to get educ units? So that I can get a teacher's license exam?
Meron ba sa Makati? Dun kasi ako work eh. Baka try ko rin mag-masteral or something less
like a diploma, just to add to my college education na rin.

Iba na panahon now, I read sa newspaper and tv news that students are discouraged to take
nursing courses kasi nga walang jobs, if you have a job, be grateful na lang muna.
Maganda rin kasi yung marami kang alam. Uso din now ang retrenchment in IT, in BPO/CC,
so dapat meron kang other skill that can earn you a good income. If you are multi-talented
and have lots of time, you have a bigger potential to earn. Just get the best from both worlds na lang.
Malay mo, di pa lang para sa panahon ngayon ang pagiging nurse mo, it will serve its purpose later on in life.

ok, i can totally relate dito sa thread na ito:
i started college as a nursing student at UST.  it was my aunt who's a nurse in the US paying for my school.  after hs, wala akong preference which course to take so i just went with what my family decided.  also at the time, we're just waiting for our immigrant visa, it only makes sense to get a nursing degree ?  wrong!  i found out that nursing is not for me,  that i don't have what it takes to be a nurse (i don't think that i will have the patience, esp in the psych ward...).  anyway, it was only a year, so i was able to shift to Engineering (my strongest subject is math btw).  of course, the folks were kinda disappointed that i won't be a 'nurse' but they still let me do the eng'g course in UST also.  2 years into the program and our visa came.  so off we went to the US.  i had no skill yet at that time, not a nurse not an engineer, so back to school i went,  this time in IT.  fast forward into now and i'm an IT professional for the last 30 years.  i like it very much and i know for sure this is my calling.
but there's more,  during the 90's life in the US was kinda hard,  people were losing jobs left and right bec of the  poor economy.  i have my own family (with 2 kids) now at this time.  i wanted to have a backup career in the medical field just in case i lose my IT job.  so i took a Respiratory Therapy course.  it was tough because i still had to work full time while going to school and doing my clinical.  but i made it and passed the licensure exam too (92%).  i worked part time as an RT and i felt i wasn't good enough.  so i can understand where our sis TS is coming from.  it's very hard to do something if your heart is not into it.  and in the medical field,  it's people's lives at stake here, so a simple mistake can be disastrous!
i have long given up on my RT career, it's not for me, i'm not happy doing it and i don't feel that i'm competent enough.  my supervisors at the hospital think otherwise,  but i cannot risk the lives of patients if i am not very confident with what i'm doing.  i posted my grade to point out that i'm capable of the task,  the problem is i don't have the passion for it.
i hope my ramblings made sense.  so going back to the start of the story,  it only proved that my initial feelings towards a nursing profession is correct, it's not for me.
