Hi! I stayed for 4 nights in Nov 2010 sa Shin Shih Hotel in Taipei: http://www.shin-shih.com.tw/en/aboutus.php. It's just a short walk (about 3 min) to the Shuanglian MRT station (2 stations away from the Taipei Main Station). Their single room costs TWD1880 or PHP2627.22 if reserved online. It includes breakfast na rin. OK naman sya for me, simple lang pero malinis and accessible.

Thanks sis ang problem naman ng sis ko is yung mom namin is wala nang work. Kung requirements yung itr mukang hindi makakapagbigay ang mom ko. Kung bank account pwede naman mag open ngayon since november this year pa naman sila pupunta. May chance ba na ma deny yung mother namin? Thanks!

^yung mom ko din walang itr so we submitted yung bank book/ bank statement plus yung RT ticket and yung passport (she has been to hong kong & macau pa lang). wala naman kaming naging problem. i don't know if nakatulong na kaming 2 na kasama nya are complete ang needed docs

I never thought of visiting taiwan akala ko walang magandang i-visit but i'm wrong, ang ganda pala dito!!! just read a few blogs and mukhang worth a visit may visa din pala dito...

^Yes.  Maganda and maraming interesting places sa Taiwan.  Convenient din ang transportation system nila. I like the weather din, malamig!   Madami nga lang requirements for the visa but if you're a US visa holder na, no need to apply for a visa.

Hi! Ano kayang district ang ok to stay na hotel? Aside sa Main Station? We're 2 couples with a kid each eh. So gusto sana namin within accessible sa station and mga kainan. Ano din kaya weather sa Taipei ng early August? Thanks!

Madami nga lang requirements for the visa but if you're a US visa holder na, no need to apply for a visa.

Pag may valid visa ng Canada, Japan, U.K., EU Schengen, Australia and New Zealand, ganun din.

sis wuvshoe, i plan to visit taiwan sa feb next year in time for the new year? feb 9-13 diba? no work holiday ba yun? are the places to visit open during that time? is it advisable to go there ng new year?

^hi sis, wala pang official announcements ng CNY dates but based on websites, feb 10 sya for 2013. no work during that time. some shops/stalls will be closed. i think some tourist sites are closed on new year's eve/first day, like Sun Yat Sen and Taipei Zoo. night markets are open naman. i found this helpful article, although written 2 years ago na:
