@sis mamichula - I was given estimate but total net charges na and range sya kaya medyo worried parin kami kais minimum lang yun hehe.

Anyway, I had the chance to talk to her yesterday naman during check up so sinabi ko na lang sana may discount kami and nanghingi na rin kami ng tips on how to save sa hospital bills etc.

Totoo nga pala yung mas mahal ang room, mas mahal ang charges.

sis mamichula - agree. so magstart na lang kami muna sa ward/semi-private siguro pagka-deliver saka na lang kami lilipat ng private pag nabill na ang mga charges.

By the way, i'm just wondering if you have any idea... Kasi mas malapit ako sa slgc compared to slqc and we inquired of the rates and they're really the same.  Pero bakit sabi parin ng iba mas mahal parin sa slgc kapag andyan na yung bill? 

Napaisip lang kasi ako since mas malapit ako sa slgc at mas maganda ang amenities nila pero mas pinili na naming ang slqc kasi may worry kami na baka biglang shoot up ang hospital charges namin pati yung professional fees ng doctor.

What do you think mga sis?  Any idea?

Sis red_apple, kaya raw mas mahal sa global sabi ng OB natin is because mas updated facilities. So for ex., may procedure silang dapat gawin, instead na manual na kaya naman nilang gawin, sa global, may equipment pa (rough example lang to but i hope you get the idea) so, in the end, icha-charge din sa patient yung paggamit nung equipment na yun.  Kaya ayun, mas mahal lalabas yung bill.

hi, i gave birth at slmc-QC year 2007 and 2008, my total overall costs including all PF was 60K and 80K, both normal delivery,

now, i moved to makati and will be delivery at slmc-GC naman, my OB said i shouls prepare 80-100K for normal delivery, minimum.

hows the birthing room in GC? what does it look like?

Pero I can say sulit naman super nice and accomodating mga nurses and staff. Well taken cared of ako and si baby.

anyway, my OB at St. Luke's Global is Dra. Mae Syki-Young.. our pedia is Dr. Catherine Sheng-Young.. partners sila talaga (siblings ang husbands nila).. very caring naman at comfortable maging doctor both of them..

i didn't ask for birthing cost from my OB yet pero nabanggit nya na St. Luke's Global is mas mahal lang daw ng konti compared with MMC.. i spent less than 80K noon sa MMC.. it was CS delivery.. i gave birth with my first baby in 2008.. now for my 2nd baby, due date is August 22.. hope to avail the WE CARE package.. sana meron pa nun!

May package, sis, but may certain parameters for you to qualify sa package.  You can ask your OB about it

@mrskolca. Doc mae rin ako. Sa slgc, pina prepare nya sakin pag nsd is 120k and cs is 150k. She does not do the packages daw. Try mo rin ask kase for nsd ako nagtanong re package eh. Buti nga ikaw naka package sa kanya in mmc. 100k na quote nya ngayon dun sa nsd, 135k pag cs, i think semi-private room lang yun. What was your rm then and hows your birthing exp with her? (sorry off topic)

^semi-private room ako noon sa mmc sis but i ended up in a ward kasi wala ng vacant na semi private room that time.. very nice naman ang ward tho.. 2 lang ang bed sa room so 2 lang kami na mommies ang nagshare at may division naman.. hmm.. i wonder what's the difference between a ward or semi private room in mmc and st. luke's global..

my birthing experience is good enough that i don't want to try any other doctor aside from dra. mae.. i mean, panatag na ako sa kanya.. as of now, i am still thinking either i give birth in mmc or st. luke's global.. i guess i'll decide na the moment i reached my 3rd trimester..

Gave birth last march27 sa slmc-qc. Sa ward lang kasi no other rooms available, good thing is wala kami kasama sa room. Total hospital bill for me and baby is 34k, 4k kay pedia.

Question lang, yung result ng NBS pano malalaman? And yung copy ng birth certificate ni baby, pwede na tayo kumuha sa qc city hall ng certifide true copy after 2wks diba? Need it kasi for sss mat2.
