@bianca24, I have the same OB.  And I can also attest to Dr. Guinto's care and compassion, not to mention na magaling siya talaga especially sa high-risk pregnancy (honor student iyan sa BS Biology sa UP Diliman and nasa top din siya ng class niya sa UP-PGH College of Medicine) tulad ng case ko dati.  When I lost my first baby, she also held my hand and even hugged me.  And don't you feel kampante by her being very thorough especially sa ultrasound?  We don't have to go to another doctor for that because she is a sonologist as well.

@m_lim, why don't you want to room in your baby right away?  If you intend to breastfeed, rooming in is the best way to be successful from the start.  Read about the Unang Yakap protocol of the DOH and attend a breastfeeding seminar.  Iba kasi ang "want to breastfeed" versus making sure that your environment and the people around you are prepped for successful breastfeeding.  One way of ensuring a successful breastfeeding journey is by rooming in your baby at the soonest possible time, barring any complications.  This has been documented in various breastfeeding literature.

Re rooming in, if I am not mistaken, rooming in is the protocol to be followed if both mother and baby are healthy based on Unang Yakap nga by DOH (my pediatricians are among the proponents for the Essential Newborn Care Protocol).  The DOH mandates that hospitals follow this newborn protocol.  And honestly, nakakaawa ang mga babies na naiiwan sa nursery.  I should know kasi two months naiwan sa NICU ang mga anak ko.

hi marose! honestly kaya ayaw ko room in si baby, for sure madaming insensitive na mga bisita dadalaw. ex. mga taong may sakit tapos dadalawin ka. mga taong hahawak hawakan the baby kahit hindi pa naghugas ng kamay.

side kwento: problema ko ngayon sa house this aunt na may lung cancer. stage 4. ubo ng ubo. kahit sa harap ng pagkain.

 ang nakakainis, sabi siya ng ng sabi hindi nakakahawa ang cancer. hello?? alam naman niya preggy ako. i asked my doc about this and she said, iwasan ko daw this aunt not only because of cancer,
but malaki chance ng infection. kung mahawa ako, hindi ako basta basta pwede uminom ng gamot.

neighbor kasi namin etong aunt ko. since may sakit nga noon pa, pinapakain narin namin sa house namin. inutos ng dad ko sa helper na padalhan nalang everyday ng food para hindi na muna pumunta sa amin, since preggy nga ako. nasa amin na kasi yan umaga palang.(kapalmuks talaga!)

hindi rin naman magawa ng helper na ibahin yung utensils na gamit niya. kasi baka magdadam. dito ako gigil na gigil! so imagine nagshshare kami ng gamit. hindi lang kami ni baby ang at risk. pati daddy ko at lahat ng tao sa bahay!

^ Maybe you can ask your friends and relatives to forego visiting you in the hospital.  Sa case ko, since preemies ang babies ko dati and nasa NICU naman sila pinasabi ko sa friends and relatives (through my mom and my husband) na huwag na lang ako i-visit kasi hindi rin nila makikita ang baby.

If hindi talaga mapipigilan ang mga visitors, know that breastmilk provides immunity to your newborn, immunity which cannot be found in any infant formula.  So, protected ng antibodies mo transmitted through your breastmilk ang baby mo.  Pero it helps din to ask guests to wash their hands, apply rubbing alcohol, etc. or even not hold the baby (sabihin mo na lang baka umiyak at ikaw lang ang gusto ng baby na humawak sa kanya).


Re sa auntie, magkulong ka na lang sa room mo and have your own designated utensils.  It would also help to disinfect parts of the house often.

Do any of u sisses know if Pwede isama si hubby sa delivery room ng st Luke's global city? That's what I want sana.. Sa TMC kasi ako ngayon and hospital policy na Hindi Pwede unless u pay for the Lamaze room or birthing suite-- dun Lang allowed.

^^hi sis..i gave birth last wk at slgc via cs at pinapasok c hubby sa operating room. Nakita niya the whole process(at muntik na masuka hehe)..alam ko pinatawag siya ng ob ko nung malapit na ko hiwaan..nasa labor room din siya the whole time..we took the hrpu, 2 days ako nglabor and finally na cs.

hello mga sis! pa-join..im planning to give birth in SLMC Global, my OB is Dra Marie Arlene Azada and her recommended sono is Dra Valerie Guinto.
I was confined in HRPU last Jul 6-8 because of low AF, cord loop, shortened cervix with Y funneling. My bill is almost 40k less 5k Philhealth.
..currently 35 weeks and 5 days and waiting for my labor signs..hoping for NSD also

^^prof fee ng ob ko 60k..she stayed with me talaga,2 days naglabor,induce,nirupture yung water bag and eventually ay na cs din hehe.. anes is 20% ng prof fee ng ob..no effect daw yung room type sa prof fee..thankful na [wala kmi complications ni baby..

yung hrpu is yung labor room na pwede pumasok with you your hubby..4900+ yata per day..the other regular labor room is 1900..bawal ang companions, ikaw lang talaga magisa with other moms separated by curtains..

Hi mga sis.. Happy talaga ako na 98k lang naging total bill ko.. Last June then 4 days ako via CS din sa SLMCQC Prof ng OB ko with anesth. 49k. Sobrang baba at discounted bigay ng OB ko.. I love my OB talaga.. Kya sa 2nd baby ko.. Sa kanya pa din ako..

which is better Asian Hospital or St. Lukes Global? Pinag-iisipan kasi namin kung alin sa 2 kami if ever manganganak na ko. Check ups ko sa St. Lukes Global pero we might move sa Muntinlupa before I give birth. As per doktora, mas mahal daw sa Asian kesa sa St. Lukes Global and mas bago yata sa Global. We didn't ask kung malaki difference sa 2 hospital.

OKay na ang 140k kung 2 days ka nglabor and hrpu And I was told [textspeak!] 2 bed na room daw madalas ikaw lang magisa? Kasi hindi naman daw madalas mapuno and unuubos muna nila [textspeak!] rooms , like the spread out the patients bago nila pagsama samahin pag madami talaga May kasama ka ba sa room?
