Hi mga sis! Newbie here. Nagpalit ako ng ob kasi di affiliated yong 1st ob ko sa global. Thanks sa thread na to, nakapagdecide kami ni hubby na piliin na ob si Dra. Asuncion Jing Fernandez. Napakabait niya, lahat ng tanong ko sinagot niya. Hindi rin nagmamadali during consultation.

@ sis sachism  So far okay naman sya. Yung check ups ko minsan sa kanya would last 20-30 minutes sa sobrang dami kong tanong  And I feel comfortable asking her about her PF the packages how my condition would affect my bill pagkapanganak. And she explains tlg the breakdown of the package etc.

She's the one who helped us conceive. I had polyps kasi before I got pregnant, another OB said I need an operation agad kasi hindi daw ako magkaka baby. When I went to her (my current OB) she said its not necessary and tinuro nya paano gumawa ng baby hehe

^Nagpacheck na ba sila? If nothing's wrong naman baka nga timing lang din like us they have to do it  everyday from the 10th till the 17th day of her cycle. Kung regular sya mabilis lang bilangin hehe the first day of her period is day 1 so they'd have to count pag 10th day na start na hehe

nagca-canvas na ako ng new ob pero iniisip ko okay lang kaya if sa slmc din yung kukunin kong new ob? wala naman kasi ako balak magpaalam sa ob ko ngayon kaya parang ang awkward if magkikita kami sa slmc tapos malalaman niyang nag-iba na ako ng ob. ayoko naman lumipat ng hospital just because i want to avoid her. at home na ako sa slmc e, i gave birth to my 2 kids there. actually, torn din talaga ako kasi siya nagpaanak sa 2 kids ko e. haaaaayy.

I had a different OB din during my first semester eh kasi I was originally planning to give birth in LP so dun ako nagpapacheck before bumalik lang ako kay Doc Perralta kasi my mom wanted me to give birth sa SLGC. I actually went to LP pa to see my other OB last month so last month 2 OB ko  I dunno if I should paalam pa to my other OB or pwede na ako wag nalang magparamdam

^ Baka kasi isipin ng OB mo Sis sinulot ka ng other OB? That happened to a lot of dentists that I know-- although ibang field naman kami and the patients have all the liberty to choose who they want to check on them, di ba?. I don't know the rule of the OBs regarding this matter pero speaking as a patient here, I will transfer to another OB if hindi na ako comfortable sa current OB ko. I mean, I think you should be as open to your caregiver as possible. There should be a certain kind of connection ba.

nalabuan kasi ako sa ob ko. start pa lang tinanong ko na siya how much ang pf niya. she told me na she won't charge us anything dahil accredited siya ng hmo ni hubby. pero nagparinig siya na sa iba daw sumisingil pa siya ng extra kahit na may hmo dahil masiyado daw mababa yung rate ng hmo pero dahil family friend namin siya, hindi na daw niya kami sisingilin. so kampante kami ni hubby na wala kami gagastusin kasi mataas ang maternity coverage ng hmo niya. the day after i gave birth, ayun bigla na lang sinabi ni ob na she'll charge us extra! tapos sabi pa okay lang naman daw yun kasi mayaman naman daw parents ko! anuba?? hindi naman kami humingi sa parents ko! kami ni hubby ang nagbayad. okay lang sana if she told us earlier, at least man lang napaghandaan namin. ang nakakainis dun nagbitaw siya ng salita tapos biglang nung andun na, bigla na lang niya iniba yung usapan. labo, di ba??

eto pa pala, nung tinanong ko siya about the we care package, sobrang diniscourage niya ako. hindi daw maganda. tapos nag-request ako ng anes na accredited sa hmo ni hubby. binigyan ko pa siya ng list ng lahat ng mga accredited anes sa slmc pero wala siyang napili. nag-insist siya dun sa gusto niyang anes na hindi accredited. kaloka! ang hirap niya talaga kausap!

^ Naku that's the problem nga when you know the OB  Yan din ayaw ko Kaya I bug my OB now and bombard her with questions about her package and her TF I told her we need to get the money pa and have it ready before I give birth.

My first OB gave us a 100k quote for a CS operation but it's in a small hospital lang in LP so I was puzzled. When I moved to my OB in SL GC she gave me a 130k quote for a CS section in a private room na. Not much difference. If I choose to get a 2-bed room it'll be around 99k nga lang eh. OB gave me a copy of her package with breakdown so we can choose. So I decided to have the baby nalang in SL GC super liit lang the difference ng price.

Although my OB now is not as ma PR as my OB before. My other OB kasi before would chika pa my husband and kwento. Now my St Lukes OB's kinda formal sometimes when she's talking to my husband. Pero I can talk to her about my budget and I'm open about money concerns with her. Aanhin ko naman ang PR kung mahal maningil kaya dito nalang ako kay Doc Perralta.

tama, sis. ang mahal naman nung quote nung unang ob tapos sa small hospital lang? you're lucky you found yung ob mo ngayon. mura na tapos slmc gc pa. isa din pala yan na diniscourage ako ni ob. sabi niya huwag daw ako sa slmc gc dahil mas mahal daw kaysa qc e based naman sa mga nabasa ko dito sa thread, mukhang pareho lang halos ang rates ng qc at gc.

Im not sure how much ang rates sa ngayon e. sa ob naman i recommend Dr. Christine Palma and also Dr. Asuncion FernAndez. Dr. Palma is my ob talaga, Dr. Fernandez namn did polypectomy on me a few wks ago when Dr.palma was out of the country. Both are very nice and very professional:)

I gave birth sa slmc qc last year and we paid approximately 130K lahat. Walang bawas kasi wala kami philhealth, etc.

Like sis bibits, Dra. Mary Christine Palma din ob ko. Nung last check up ko sa kanya last year p800 pf niya.  Oncologist din siya so mas malawak expertise niya. Mabait siya at alam mong maalam talaga. Kalog din siya. Naalala ko sa bawat check up ko noon lagi kaming tumatawa. Lahat din ng tanong ko at ni hubby, ineexplain niya mabuti ang sagot. Nung nanganak ako camera pa niya nagamit sa pagkuha ng pictures namin at ni baby kasi yung camera na kay hubby eh pinapahanap ni ob hindi makita yun pala si hubby nasa suite at natutulog.
