has anyone experience this? eczema on face and sa body? sabi ng pedia ko may eczema daw si baby kase. and im using hydrocortizone 1%. so sad.  minsan nagigising sha sa kati ng fae nya at neck....

Eldest ko ganyan. As what the dermatologist advised, my son only uses unscented soap--preferrably Dove sensitive/unscented and hangga't maaari hindi masyadong fragrant ang shampoo.  We also switched to unscented detergent and fabric conditioner, hindi lang para sa damit nya kundi sa lahat ng labahin.  Make sure to apply moisturizer all over the body.  Importante kasi na di mag-dry skin ni baby to avoid flare ups.  Kawawa ang baby pag may eczema kaya dapat alam natin paano alagaan skin nila.  Be vigilant din kung ano nag-cuase ng flare ups nya, sa anak ko kasi pag mainit naglalabasan na rashes nya.  Right now controlled na ang flare ups nya dahil nga alam ko na dapat gawin, usually pag summer lang umaatake.

oo nga ang hirap. sa pinas kase marami ko babies na pamangkin wala namang gantong issue. normal naman, pero dito maraming arte. cetaphil restoraderm pinagamit sa baby ko, mahal sha pero di naman mashadong effective. i tried aquaphor, aveeno, wala

I've had good luck with California Baby Calendula Cream. My daughter used to have eczema too around the tummy area, shoulders, crook of the arm and behind her knees . Pinagtiyagaan ko lang talaga with the cream and taking some things off her diet (although na-reintroduce ko din ito eventually and di na nag-c-cause ng flareups). Ngayon, wala naman na siyang flareups. We'll see sa winter because it seems that yung cold aggravates it for her.

sis, gusto ko rin i try yan, pero takot na ko sa results eh. baka mamaya lumala lalo. kase nung ginamit ko aveeno one day lang grabeh ang daming lumabas sa face ni baby, nakaka awa. until now di gumagaling. sayang bili ko sa aveeno. yung cethapil na lang ulit ginamit ko at aquaphor sa gabi. kahit di sha gumagaling don atleast hinde lumalala. marami na rin ako nabasa about sa california baby pero dko pa rin sure if i ta try ko.

I had to google photos for baby eczema kasi na curious ako. I wonder, pag super itchy ba nito sa baby inaadvise din ba ng pedia nyo na mag take yung baby nyo ng Alerkid or Alnix?

no sis, puro ointment at cream lang. wala munang oral meds. i will try california baby this week. nag order na ko online. sana naman effective dami ko na nasayang na pera.

yung baby ko may eczema din, i used to treat her with hydrocortizone, at first parang gumagaling pero later on we noticed na numinipis na yung balat nya sa muka and mas gumagrabe lalo yung rashes... we went to a pediatrician-dermatologist and sabi nya yun daw talaga ang effect ng gamot na yon and hindi dapat ginagamit for a long period of time as it tends to make the skin thinner. So the doctor told us to stop using it and instead gave us Sodium Fusidate Ointment B.P. and Mometasone Furoate. It should be mixed together before applying to the affected area. And in 2 days lang ang laki ng improvement, nag heal yung mga sugat ni baby sa face, dati kasi parang nagtutubig pa nga to the point na sobrang pula na parang natalupan, parang fresh meat kasi nga dumating na sa point na sobrang infected na... Tapos ni recommend din nung doctor nya yung Physiogel or QV gel kasi daw yung mga ordinary moisturizer puro water based daw hindi nag stay ng matagal sa skin and hindi nagfu- fully penetrate....so dapat daw oil based.... inaapply namin 3 times a day... Ngayon okay na sya and kontrolado na din namin wala ng flare ups...minsan pag parang may tutubo na naman na rashes nilalagyan kagad namin ng cream kaya hindi na tumutuloy.

How is baby eczema different from skin asthma kaya? Me skin asthma yung toddler ko, while yung newborn ko was said to have seborrhic dermatitis, napagaling na yung ulo nya, now sa eyebrows naman madami, dermapedia said it could turn into baby eczema.

yung sa baby ko either sa face na may flakes, usually sa eyebrows, groin or sa pusod. dun sa pusod yung matindi kasi nagsusugat (baka kinakamot ni baby) and nagtutubig. we put 1%hydrocortizone but we mix it with physiogel cream, kasi pag medyo napadami yung hydrocortizone namumuti yung skin and yun nga, numinipis.

heat, dairy products trigger the flare up so until now di pa nakakatikim ng dairy si baby

nawawala sha sa HD 1% pero bumabalik din. aquaphor doesnt help and yung cetaphil restoraderm. mild lang sha kaya dry agad si baby. yung aquaphor naman greasy. at night she doesnt stop scratching hanggang makatulog sha..

Mai, ang pagkakaalam ko, same lang ang skin asthma and eczema. In fact, I remember yung SIL ko who has a son with eczema had a younger daughter who had asthma. When the doctor was explaining asthma to her, he said, look at your son's eczema and imagine that on your daughter's lungs.

baby ko din may skin asthma at may asthma base sa history ng family sabi ni pedia at other pedia dahil nag pa 2nd 3rd 4th opinion pa ako, PERO nung pinacheck ko siya sa Allergologist - Immunologist, hindi niya consider na may asthma ang baby ko dahil wala pang 2yrs old.

yung lumalabas na butlig sa anak ko sa tiyan dati ang sabi ay skin asthma, pero hindi pala allergic lang siya sa garter ng short dahil napansin ko na ganoon ang lumalabas kapag yung short niya may garter, pero now na 18mos old na siya kahit may garter pa short niya hindi na nagkakabutlig baby ko, meaning hindi skin asthma.

gusto ko mag try ng derma-pedia dati pero wala ako mahanap, ang nahanap ko ay Allergologist - Immunologist na mas napaliwanagan ako, who she is DRA LELETMD of female network.

Allergologist - Immunologist - deal with allergies and immunologic issues of the whole body while dermatologists deal with diseases of the skin.

Snowflakes: yung sa head and eyebrows the pedia said it is seborrhic dermatitis aka baby dandruff, hindi sya puti but yellow residue and flakes sya, tapos amoy sebo, siguro nga cradlecap din sya. According to pedia baby got that hormones from me, tapos usually umookay by 6 mos, pero kung di daw umokey on its own possible maging eczema.
Grumpybear: when a chikd has skin asthma, automaticalky me lungs asthma din kaya? Yun toddler ko started getting rashes when she's mga 1+, now at 2.8, first time sya nagka sipon that turned into cough, gumalng na cough but tge sipon still there, 1 month na. I was thinking asthma na siguro ito.

My baby used to have rashes on his face and some kind of "dandruff" (flaky) on his head. The doctor didn't prescribe any medicines, just mild facial and body cleanser and lotion. We used Physiogel cleanser and cream, and it worked like magic! For the flaky scalp, our doctor has also suggested to put some baby oil on his scalp before bath time.

Eczema is sometimes caused by too much dryness on our babies' skin. So I suggest, you also try to moisturize the skin as often as possible (use Physiogel cream). This is also soothing to babies and will pacify them in case the rashes is irritating them.

Mai, I don't think that they necessarily come na package deal because my SIL's kids, one son has eczema no lung asthma and the daughter has lung asthma pero no eczema.
