^yes sis, i have them all, because for a  long time, my money just slept in time deposit and SDA. Sis, i suggest to go to BPI and have the assessment so u would know your risk tolerance, then BPI would recommend the right investment for you. I love the convenience of BPI, but i didn't avail their BPI trade, i have account in COL, may mga threads here to help you  ;D

Okay din kaya yung BPI savings with Insurance? Eto nakalagay sa website/ RATES, naguguluhan lang ako sa interest rates: Among the four items, yung item no. 3 lang ba ang may insurance? Pagkakaintindi ko kasi four items are under the "Get Started Savings Account with Life Insurance" products nila, kaso bakit sa item no. 3 nakaspecify talaga na +insurance.

Get Started Savings Account with Life Insurance

1. ATM           Php 5,000Php   5,000Php  10,000             0.500%
2. Passbook   Php 50,000Php 50,000Php 50,000            0.500%
3. BFSB Save-Up Automatic Savings + Insurance   N.A.Php 1,000Php 3,000      0.500%
4. BFSB Save-Up Automatic High Saving N.A.  Php 1,000  Php 3,000   Php 3,000 - 24,999 0.500%
                                                                                                         25,000 - 299,999  0.875%

I think the "ATM" and "Passbook" entries shouldn't
be there... if they're taken out then its not so confusing
anymore.

Maybe they just made a mistake?
I mean if you look at the description of the product
itself, save up is like an auto debit product with
EITHER insurance or higher interest rates...

BPI's Double Posting of Checks 05 April 2013
« Reply #163 on: April 05, 2013, 06:11:49 pm »
Hi all!

Do check your BPI current account, there were several cases of double posting of checks today 05 April 2013 due to some glitch in BPI's system.  I was surprised to find my account in the negative even after my check (issued 02 April 2013) has cleared (04 April 2013) and it should have available funds pa.  The inconvenient part is that the balance of my account cannot be used until they reversed the double posting of the check.  Hassle di ba? What if you have several checks, some of these might not get funded because of the double posting.

Uh-oh, BPI will be in big trouble if they cannot reverse the double posting ASAP!!!

Mga sis help, I applied for bpi direct maxi savers and asked my nominated bpi branch to add it on my bpi express online account, bakit ganun? Savings lang talaga nakalagay under type, I was hoping na Maxi saver nakalagay, kasi paano ko malalaman na my money is indeed earning the 1% pa plus 0.5% if no withdrawal? Sa mga may maxi saver dito na naka enroll sa bpi express online nila, ano nakalagay under Type?

Just sharing…

I just went to BPI a few days ago to inquire and also ask advice on what is the best peso account that is safe and will yield the highest interest rate.  I told the bank personnel that I won’t be using a certain amount of money for 1 year.  The bank personnel explained to me about the maxi-saver account and the BPI advance savings.  So after some computations to better explain these two account types… she showed me that the BPI advanced savings will yield higher interest rates than maxi-saver, although a little higher lang naman.  100K pala maintaining balance ng BPI Advanced compared to 25K/50K with maxi-saver.

^How much is the interest for BPI Advanced?  Why not check out BPI's UITF na rin sis, so you can weigh your options?

^ I've read that UITF is good for long term investments. Source: http://business.inquirer.net/56791/is-investing-in-uitfs-a-good-idea

BPI Family:
Advanced Savings - 1.5%
Maxi Saver - 1.375% (.5 added already)

BPI Main:
Advanced Savings - 1.25%
Maxi Saver - 1.125% (.5 added already)

He probably says that to be on the safe side.

What is your definition of long term?

Bonds are usually held for 3 years, sometimes
less depending on the maturity of the bonds the funds hold
but always more than a year

Money market funds hold SDAs and 30 day treasury bills
and are usually held for less than a year.

You get the drift right?

So you have money market funds that are for the least longest term
Then bond funds for long...ish term
Then balanced funds for long term
And equity funds for the longest long term hahaha I had fund typing that up.

I personally maintain just the 25k required balance in my maxi saver,
the rest is in BPI's Short Term Fund.

just closed my maxi saver and transferred my emergency fund to advanced savings account.
