I gave birth at CGH on June 2008. My OB is Dra. Valen Co, I stayed in the hospital under a semi-private room for 2 nights and 3 days since NSD naman ako. All-in-all we paid 22K for the hospital bill & pf's.. My sister also gave birth at CGH on Aug. 2009. Her Ob is Dra. Zamora. My sister stayed in the labor room for grueling 16 hours, reached 10 cm but the baby just won't engaged due to Cephalo-Pelvic Disproportion. She's only 4'11 in height so her OB decided to have an emergency CS. She stayed in an OB ward for 4 nights and 5 days and overall, she paid 35k including the OB's pf.. Wala pang Philhealth yun, and kung meron man, she only had to pay 28k for a C-section! included na yung 16 hour labor niya sa labor room. Her OB is really nice and matulungin talaga. Sobrang baba ng siningil niya ng PF kasi her niece is my college classmate. She only charged us 5k for her PF and yung pedia only charged us 1k for her PF.. ;D

How is CGH in terms of cleanliness? Someone kc mentioned to me na there are so many babies born here and kept in the nursery, would spread of disease or infection be a concern?

i also gave birth to my babies sa CGH. first in 2007, 2nd in 2010.

sa 1st baby ko, nag-labor pa ko. and true, me masungit na nurses sa labor room, pero meron din maalaga. like nung ibang mommies dito inabot din ako ng almost 24-hours sa labor. yung intern na nag-asikaso sa akin dito masakit mag-IE. :P na-CS ako with my eldest, and true, puro lalaki na yung nurses sa OR. and parang mas me care pa sila sa pasyente kesa sa mga nurses sa labor room. tingin ko nga mukhang dalaga pa mga nurse dun so at the back of my mind nung nagle-labor ako, mae-experience din nila yung na-experience nating mommies pag sila naman ang magka-anak. :P

with my second, CS naman ako but di na ko dumaan sa labor room. supposedly pinapa-admit na ko ng doc ko by sunday night, tigas ng ulo ko tumawad pa ko baka pwede tuesday na lang. ayun inabutan ng labor monday, kaya monday night na-CS ako. 10 pm ako nanganak and super asikaso pa rin sila sa akin. idinaan muna ko sa ER bago dinerecho sa OR; yung mga nurse se ER ang hindi ko alam kung alam ba talaga ang ginagawa. kaloka. sa OR okay pa rin experience ko, kakaawa lang after kasi kita mo pagod talaga and antok yung staff after ng CS ko.

OB ward lang ako for both times, okay naman mga nurses nila.

OB ko is dra. ruby baysa-ong. pedia namin is dra. rose sia-lim. my endocrinologist is dra. rebecca lim-alba (had thyroid problem sa 2nd baby ko eh). we still go back to cgh for our check-ups, kahit cavite pa kami nakatira. ganun namin kamahal ang cgh. LOL. :D dito din nga pala ko pinanganak ng mom ko before. :)

sis, same tayo ng OB, si dra. Ruby baysa-ong. She had been my OB even before î got pregnant kasi i was diagnosed with endometriosis. Sobrang natuwa nga sya nun nagpositive ako kasi di nya ineexpect na ganun kabilis akom makakarecover from not having a period for over a year kasi we were trying to shrink the cysts on both og my ovaries..hehe

Bait nga nya, kaya minsan dami din patients, although sa Healthway SM North ako nagpapacheck-up. Went to her clinic sa CGH nun nagkaviral fever ako at diarrhea while preggy. however, di sya nagpa-anak sakin kasi I gave birth in the province :-)

siguro if i get pregnant again, sya ulit kukunin ko kasi she knows my medical history already. :-)

just sharing :-)

I decided to go for CGH kahit ang layo layo ko kasi napakareasonable ng rates.

However, I'm torn between Dra Zamora, Dra Valen Co or Dra Sangalang-Vinoya.

I'm on my 10th week pa lang, a lot of time to think pero gusto ko sana yung pupuntahan ko eh yun na yung final decision ko, hirap pag malapit na chaka lilipat di ba?

taga valenzuela ako sis, but near the border lang ng malabon so i'm not that far. talagang gusto ko sa CGH because of the rates, as well as the positive feedback ng mga ka-GT natin. :)

my ob's rate: WARD - NSD 44K exclude of phealth pa
                                CS   68-70k

                    SEMI PRIVATE 50k (NSD)
                                          77k (CS)

was able to see dra zamora. she is caring, she's nice. pero..just not quite. i don't know baka kasi ako na yung last patient for the day and it was already afternoon?

i'm thinking of seeing dra betty co-yap as per sis sarahsensible and krisfel_08. :) baka mas kampante ako sa kanya. i'm on my 13th week pa lang naman, hope OK na sa kanya para i don't need to look further.

CGH din ako, my OB is Dra. Valen Co. and i like her, maalaga sya. pranka at practical. Mahaba nga lang talaga pila sa kanya, what we do nalang maglilista kami sa tanghali then balik nalang sa gabi. usually kasi 7pm start ng clinic nya e (ideal for those who are working). P100 lang consultation fee (P200 sa initial check up), nag uultrasound na rin sya (P300 only) kaya hindi mo na kelangan pa ultrasound sa labas.

ang hindi ko pa lang din alam for sure ay kung magkano ang PF nya. kasi [textspeak!] nagrefer sa akin, 2008 pa sya nanganak kaya di na nya tanda how much ang PF. Sana may magpost pa na ibang mommies ng cost of giving birth dito sa CGH...
