PCOS (Thread 6)

I have PCOS both ovaries, hindi naman ako TTC kasi i'm single. Bale regular period naman ako inaabot nga lang ng 35-38 days ang cycle. Kaya ko lang nalaman kasi one time 2 weeks straight na light lang ang period ko eh natakot ako baka kasi related sa IUD kaya ako nagpa check up. Yung OB ko prescribed Metformin 2x a day and Primolut- N 3x a day for 10 days pero may date kung kelan mag start iinumin.

Every month kelangan ko magpa check up sa kanya para sa prescription and schedule kung kelan mag start sa hormones. Since palagi akong busy hindi ko nasusunod yung schedule ng check up kaya hindi ko naiinom yung hormones kung kelan dapat. Hindi na ako nakakapunta sa kanya more than 2 months na buti yung period ko last time mukhang normal na. Gusto ko magpalit ng OB na mag prescribe sakin ng pills kasi yung current ko very conservative ayaw ng mga ganun. Tapos ngayon nagpapapayat ako, 10 lbs na nabawas so far. Hoping na kahit hindi nako nakakainom ng Primolut-N basta mabawasan ako timbang gumaling na sya.

@TS - a friend of mine was diagnosed with PCOs 2000 ++ pa. 2009, nagpakasal sila and nung nakuha nya yung hubby nya ( based kami overseas) noong 2010, talagang mega try sila gumawa ng baby. They went to a fertility clinic and same lang din, they were also prescribed with different pills. They were trying talaga, and nasabihan na din  sila na they might need to opt for IVF.  Pero after 4 years of trying (with continuous pills), they've been blessed with fraternal twins, a boy and a girl nung 2014.  Malaki din tulong yung naglose weight silang 2 sis. I was diagnosed with PCOS way back college. It did not bother me back then until now that I am married. I started my "work-up sessions" before I got married. Til now months after we are still TTC. My biggest issue though is my self-esteem. I go out with my closest friends, but rarely on parties and gatherings where I'm not close to most people. People/Pinoys really have that inclination to ask "O wala pa ba?" "Kelan ka magkaka-baby?" and it irritates me. If only I know the answer..

hello! i was diagnosed with pcos 2014. Last 2014 yung right ovaries ko yung may pcos but now yung dalawa na =( I'm not TTc since i'm still single.

last 2014 may OB suggested mag pills but nag decline ako kasi takot ako sa effects, last week went to my ob again and told her mag pills na ako but right now takot na naman ako. =( baka pagalitan na ako nun pag balik ko =(

pero na discourage din ako sa OB ko kasi i asked her if hindi na bah talaga mawawala yung pcos and she said hindi na daw...=( hindi siya encouraging na OB...

i'm turning 27 this year still single..=l

^hi sis, piece of advice lang, kung hindi ka na okay sa relationship mo with your OB siguro it's time na para humanap ng bago. sa atin kasing mga babae importante yung mga usapang ganito kaya dapat magka jive kayo dahil kayo yung magtutulungan.

anong pills pala binigay sayo? i'm taking althea and wala namang side effects sa akin. was diagnosed with bilateral pcos and ob suggested to take the pills for a year. it's been 5 months since i started and mag stop muna ako pagtapos ko dito sa isang box kase uuwi hubby ko next month and susubok kami(TTC).

sana may mag organize ng isang get together or meet ups para magkakila kilala naman hehe...naisip ko lang naman...lalo na xempre hindi mawawala satin na minsan mag self pity...just to have circle of friends with same issues...atleast we know how to comfort each other...and para na din mawala stress sa pagiging TTC and PCOS...

@sis hann-hann: diane pills yung prescription niya sis. I'm still not taking it until now. gusto ko pa second opinion. yung OB ko kasi she doesn't explain that much.

one of the reasons i was discouraged kasi when she looked at my 2nd tvs result last week she said "pcos parin naman"..the way she said it yung tipong parang ma di-discouraged ka lalo...

what is bilateral pcos sis? yung dalawang ovaries na pcos?

^same with my OB, no further explanation is given about PCOD (disorder na and not symptoms) coz I was diagnosed with PCO back in 2006.  I took Yazmin then, got pregnant pero blighted ovum. After D&C a few months, got pregnant again and my daughter is turning 8 y/o this year.

Last year, I went back to my OB cause we feel it's about time na sundan na si daughter and I'm not getting any younger.  Was on Yaz for 3 months plus folic, calcium, and metformine.  After 3 cycles no af na and i just found out that I'm pregnant this weekend.

dark_phoenix - yes sis, both ovaries ang affected. i took diane pills before, for birth control purposes but i didn't like the side effects. if you've decided to give it a try and hindi ka hiyang, papalitan mo na lang kay OB.

longing - wow sis congrats! nung nag stop ka ng Yaz, ilang months bago ka na-preggy?

I took Diane before din for my bilateral PCOS. I stopped after 1 yr i stopped taking and then 4 months after i got pregnant na. However, feeling ko what really helped me was religiously taking my vitamins. Kasi pills naman cannot really remove the cysts, more on hormones lang talaga sya that mimics regular cycle. Mas important pa din to keep the body healthy para tuluyang mawala ang cysts sa ovaries.

Hi mga sis.

I got diagnosed with PCOS early this year. Single and not TTC yet. Went to three OBs for consultation and tests. Now, I'm taking Althea pills.

During my first pack grabe yung migraine ko. At saka pakiramdam ko ito yung dahilan kung bakit masyado akong sensitive emotionally. Dati naman kahit pilitin kong maiyak di ko kaya, ngayon sobrang dali kong maiyak at mainis. Nakakaloka!  In terms of weight, pareho parin naman. Same lifestyle and eating habits.

Third pack ko na ngayon mga sis. I'm wondering, if I can continue to use it beyond the treatment period (3 months) na sinabi sakin ng OB ko. Gusto ko kasi yung effect nya sa skin. Natatakot ako na magulo nanaman yung hormones ko at maglabasan lahat ng acne.   

Nakakainspire ang lahat ng mga PCOS sis natin na successful in their TTC journey.

^what vitamins are you taking sis?

Sis i took essentials, coquinone, and biomega (all from usana). Yan din prenatal vitamins ko except coquinone.

Mga sis problem ko is acne lang and eveytime i stop althea bumabalik acne ko.huhu..paano to mga sis? Help!!! Ayoko mag pills forever huhu
