^to add: eat green leafy foods to hep balance the hormones. Bawasan rin ang foods with preservatives because of its estrogen mimicking compounds or also known as xenoestrogen. But it's still best to have your hormones tested.

Hi am just new here. My name is Chie. And currently my husband and I were trying to conceive for almost eight months now. But sadly, last September I was diagnosed having a PCOS. I have an irregular period. When I was young, I went to a doctor because I missed my period for 3 months. So I was worried. She just gave me Provera and if am not mistaken I took them for 10 days. Of course, I didn't go for Trans V that time, cus she said I was single. So few days after am done, my period came. For like few months to a year my period became regular. And then it became on and off again, but it will only skip for just a month. So I wasn't that worried anymore. And I thought it was all because of my lifestyle and hereditary. Cus my Mum and one of my aunts and even some of my cousins has the same case as me. My aunt is even alot worst. She was missing her period for almost 6 months to a year. It took her 10 years before she got her first child. And they're saying it's 'normal' to skip your period. Plus I wasn't trying to get pregnant that time. My main goal was to regularise my period. Most of the time, I used diapers. It is not that heavy. But I really hate the stain on my panties. My period lasts for a week. So flash forward to the story, my husband and I, he was based in UK that time, we were planning to have babies once he comes home. Last April, he came back home and right away, we did our 'business'. Months before that, I had my regular period again. Actually, the problem with me is I don't monitor my period. All I know is if I already have symptoms I'll have my period in the next few days. But April I didn't have my period. But we were sexually active. First week of May, even though I know it will be negative, we tried to take a test. So as expected it was BIG FAT NEGATIVE. Then last week of May I had my period. But still, I was trying to convince myself maybe it was implantation bleeding. And just a spotting and that was just the 'left over' of my period. Because we thought, the first time we took the test, it was 'too early'. June, we went to my first OB. When she calculated it, I was way passed ovulating on the month of April when he came home (cus I had a period last March). So since I had my period on May we started to count again all the way to June. I had my test again, and it was negative again. So we had a sex-every-other-day method that time. And if am not going to have my period on the month of June, I'll take the test on the second week of July. And if ever I'll have my period on the 5th day I'll undergo Trans V. I had my period last week of June, but we didn't came back. Cus we were so busy too sorting some stuff. July, I didn't have my period again. We bought pregnancy test with early detection. To be honest, I didn't want to take another test again. Cus I am so scared that it will be negative again. So we were argueing at Watson's cus I feel like we were just wasting money just to see a negative result, but then he bought it. When we went home, curiosity was killing me, so I took a test. To my dismay it was negative. Again. Then we went for a holiday. July to September, I missed my period. And just like before I had all the signs and symptoms of being pregnant. On my other hand, I felt like it was all in my head cus we want a baby so badly. Psychological. Whilst on my other hand, and I know deep down inside, I wish I was really pregnant. First week of September, I secretly took a test. I had two kits, same urine. I woke up like 4 in the morning. And for the nth time, it was negative. Nothing hurts me more every time I see a single line on the kit. Or every time we go to the infant section, and he's telling me 'Soon, we need to have these' or every time I use pads or diapers cus I have my period. We decided to seek for a help again. So we went to another doctor. I had Trans V was diagnosed having a PCOS. There, she gave me Provera and will take it for 3 days. I was so scared. I have a friend who also has PCOS. So my initial thought was I will be like her. I will never be a mother. But then I still try to ignore it. After am done taking Provera, I had my period. So second day of it, I went back to my OB and she prescribed Althea. And then when am done, I went back again and I moved on taking Micropil. I took Micropil til the first week of December. Although whilst taking pills it's normal to have spotting cus body is adjusting to the medications, I still went back cus am scheduled to come back this January 2015. There she said that my period is normal (although I noticed my period comes every 2-2.5 weeks every time I stopped taking pills, I dunno her definition of regular period, but I trust her judgement. I even showed her my notes) and she said that my left ovary is cleared. She prescribed me Clomid along with Folicap. Clomid is too pricey. And I have to take it for 5 days beginning with the second day of my period. And my husband and I will have sex on the 10th-16th day of after my period. She also said it doesn't matter if it's every day or every other day. Or once or more than once a day. I still have to wait if am going to have my period this January. Cus if am not, there's a possibility that the treatment works. If am going to based with my 2-week period interval. Am 6 days late now. But much better if I have to wait til January. Am wishing for a late Christmas present and early birthday present. xx

Sis, super same tayo. Ganyan din ako eh. 5 months hindi ako nagkamens kaya ako nagpacheck sa Doc, then Provera para magkamens and Diane para magregulate. After 6 months taking Diane, iStop mo yun then monitor for another month if magkakamens ka. Kaya pabalik balik ako sa Provera and Diane before.

Now im planning to go for a check up pag uwi namin ng pinas.

^ I suggest go see a doctor first. it's not safe to drink Diane on your own without a doctor's instructions. My cousin used to drink that before and alam ko may certain dosage na kailangan lang. And yes, tumaba din siya. Now she stopped drinking na and mataba pa din siya and her skin went back to usual.

Hi sis, upon reading your post, I can't help but relate. I've been diagnosed with PCOS since the time I can't remember. I do not get my period monthly and before, I really don't care at all. But then I got married last year and everything was different. We wanted to have a child so we went to the doctor to help me conceive. I had three cycles of Clomid (I know how expensive it is) and I am losing hope already. I know how it feels to see just a line when you take hpt. Nakakasawa diba? I even told my husband let's just adopt a child because I can no longer bear the frustration of getting a bfn. Last December, I was telling my husband I know I will be getting my AF again because I am getting cramps and sore boobs. To my curiosity I took the test and guess what... I got a BFP! I'm approaching my 5th week of pregnancy now and all I pray is to have a safe and normal pregnancy. Wag kang mawalan ng pagasa sis, ibibigay yan ni God in His perfect time. :)

Hi po. I can relate too in terms of PCOS, though I'm not married yet I'm looking for ways to cure my PCOS. I was diagnosed with PCOS on both sides of my ovaries when I was 21 years old, back then I just thought that missing several months of my period was due to stress (because I just graduated from college back then and been faced with thesis and practicum to graduate) and I gained so much weight at that time, but befire that I have my periods regularly every month. I was really shocked when I have known that I have this condition, then my OB recommend me to lose 15% of my previous weight for my period to regulate and she also recommend to me to drink provera. Though provera work s fine, I was very doubtful of the side effects in the long run, because one time I was having this rashes on my face whenever I drink provera, I consulted it to my OB and she runs some test, but she tells me to still continue to drink provera, since then I'm very worried about provera and done some research about it and eventually I decided to stop taking it. I only took provera more or less a year. I haven't gotten back to my OB since then, I'm hoping to look for a more capable OB for now? do you guys have any recommendations?

To also shed some light on this topic, Our family have a history of having PCOS, my mom have it when she a was still a teenager. When she got married she already told my dad they would be having difficulty in making a baby, but during their honeymoon they got lucky through God's grace and have successfully conceived 1 month after their wedding and thus they got me. After me, 2 of siblings was born in an interval of 1 year and 2 years accordingly. My mom told me that when you have successfully conceived your 1st child, after labor the doctors can clean out PCOS from your ovaries.

Also my oldest cousin have also PCOS, she was diagnosed at the age of 18 or maybe earileir (I forgot the exact age), last 2013 at 22 years of age she got pregnant though out of wedlock, but we treat it as a blessing from above and for our family, this year my inaanak will turn 1 on March 2015.

Don't lose hope sis, the perfect time will come in an unexpected way for women like us with PCOS to be given a precious gift by God. I won't lose hope in hoping for that day to come. Be strong and happy. Also always think positive, positive outlook in life can make a big difference :) Hoping my comment would help boost your confidence.

I too have pcos and I was diagnosed in 2005. I've been to many OB's and all of them gave me prescription drugs such as:

Provera (to induce menstruation if delayed. Usually hindi ako nagkakaron ng about 2-3mos, that the time I got to OB to get prescription)
Duphaston (to help regulate my period daw)
Clomid (fertility meds)
Metformin (to control blood sugar)
Birth Control Pills (ALthea or Diane)

Of these 3 meds, I did not take pills. Gusto ko mabuntis tsaka ayaw ko ng side effects ng pills.SO I take provera pag delayed na naman mens ko and then duphaston for 3 months. So everytime may tine take akong meds, ayun meron akong period.

But sometimes, I stop taking theses meds. Observation ko kasi my body is being dependent on these meds kaya monthly ako may period. ANd I noticed that the color of my period is bright red. Hindi yun normal na from brown-red-brown. I took these for a couple of months.

Mga after a year nag stop ako. Nabuntis ako without any med help pero nakunan din at 12weeks. I remember mga 3months ako naka duphaston until I suddenly stopped.

In April 2014, I found out I was pregnant again! I wasn;t taking any meds then. But before I got pregnant, I lost weight and was eating healthy. I became semi-vegetarian. I do not eat any red meat except chicken and fish. Plus more on fruits and veggies. I still eat rice. I also exercise and drink lemon water in the morning.

I lost maybe 10lbs. Tapos naging regular period ko for 3 consecutive months.

Basta eat healthy lang and if you're on a heavy side, try to loose some weight.

True sis, loosing weight is a really big factor. I lost almost 30 pounds with my OB's recommendation to loose 15% of my previous weight. I'm actually having my regular period now without medication for almost 4 months now. Also I'm doing Bikram Yoga for once a week to have an exercise routine :) Congratulations din po with your success story in overcoming PCOS :)

Nag PT ako and Negative naman. Then Nagtake na lang ulit ako ng Duphaston nung 2nd week ng January 2015, 10 days yun and after 4 days ata or 3. nagkamens na'ko. And yun nalimutan ko naman uminom ng CLOMID nung 2nd day ko na. Haaay Nakakasawa na din yung ganong Rotation. Kaso kelangan eh para sa Baby. Naiinip na rin si Hubby lalo't may balak siya Mag-abroad. :(

true sis, bawal nga tumaba kaso cause din ng pagiging PCOS mo yung pagtaba nun. and mahirap talaga magpapayat once na tumaba ka coz of PCOS and treatment sa PCOS. Yung twin sister ko may PCOS din, same kami. and yun din advise ng doctor sa kanya.

never akong tumaba sis.. sinabihan lang ako ng o.b ko na as much as possible wag akong tataba..... hindi naman din ako tumaba dahil sa pills na gamit ko.. now if your pills make you gain weight , anjan o.b mo to help you to switch to another brand ;) depende na rin kasi yan sa o.b sis..
