It's Applied behavioral Analysis sis. 3x a week may sessions son ko sa IDEAS(it's therapy center) in pasong tamo ext.

^^ sis sarsingkit and kristen 10 kulang sa awareness talaga dito sa pinas. Kanina lang nangsumbong sa akin ang daughter ko, she's already 14 yrs old. She was upset kasi yung mga busmates niya and even some of her classmates are making fun of people with autism. Sabi Autism is the new idiot or you are so autistic etc.. It breaks her heart daw pag naririnig niya kaya gustong niyang lumipat ng bus o section. Kayo mga sis how would you handle situations like this?

By the way I just read this news. "Italian Courts Rule Vaccines Cause Autism.
Court Decision: Mercury and Aluminum in Vaccine Caused Autism"

http://healthimpactnews.com/2015/u-s-media-blackout-italian-courts-rule-vaccines-cause-autism/

May revolution kasi nangyayari ngayon especially in US and EU about Mandatory Vaccinations, a lot of people are against it. The most recent yung mga HPV vaccines kasi dati adult lang ang pwede, ngayon as young as 12 pwede na. May napanuond akong videos na naging disabled mga anak nila days after receiving the vaccines.

https://www.facebook.com/besbuddytherapy/

They also offer ST, OT, ABA

I am very very satisfied and their rates are reasonable.

my son was diagnosed to have ASD at 3 years old, that was last May. We thought he was perfectly fine because he can already read sentence at his age. He started reading words at 2.5 years old on hiw own. He started learning the alphabets at 2 years old and started counting 1-50 that time. Now he knows how to count from 1-100 and 100-1, yes! It's counting backward hahaha. What triggered me see a dev pedia is his lack of communication. He do not express himself through sentence. So I felt that something is really going on. He do not have any signs of classic autism but he is so fascinated with numbers, colors and alphabets. He even give samples of words that starts from A-Z and he has repetition of words. It was really frustating to know the result that he has ASD. But Acceptance is they key to really help him to overcome this battle. He is now enrolled in OT in Creative Actions Molino Cavite for almost 6 months. He can now deliver sentence (1-3 combined words) better than before. Do not give up on your kids but give your 100% support on them. Do not be ashamed of their condition but be proud on their special talent.

Hello mga mommies,
How can you tell if may autism ang isang bata? Actually there is a child na lagi nakakalaro ng mga anak ko. I am suspecting baka, kaya lang ayoko mag-assume.

The child is not acting or behaving normally for a 4.5yr old.

Starts to throw tantrums pag hindi napagbibigyan or hindi nakukuha gusto nya. Bale wala mag-explain. (Or na-spoiled at laging pinagbibigyan ng magulang?)

Limited communication (2-3word at phrases lang). And ang intonation nya lagi is like asking a question.
Pag nagwawala kung ano anong words sinasabi na hindi related sa sitwasyon (sisigaw monster, or kakanta ng whatever or mag-count ng numbers habang umiiyak etc)

Very destructive.

(Can't even sit to eat, hinahabol lagi para subuan)

Is there a checklist ba or a website? And how do i tell the parent in a nice way na maybe iconsider the possibility para mapatignan ng maaga.

Thanks.

^ best if he/she will be checked by a developmental pedia. ASD manifestations differs from one child to another.

How do you say it to the parents in a way they won't be offended?

I'm sure "pacheck nyo kaya si (name) sa developmental pedia baka kasi may autism" is too strong. Even if saying it in a nice tone, it might offend them at maging defensive pa instead of makita na you're just suggesting out of concern.

To parents with kids who are already on therapy, how was it brought to your attention? Kayo lang?
Wala bang ibang tao (friends, other family members etc) who pointed it out to you?

I'm also thinking kasi na baka may napapansin na din naman yung parents, pero iniisip nila the child will grow out of it, na it's just a phase, etc.
kaya now iniisip ko if the parents don't care enough bakit pa ko makikialam. Hayaan ko na lang. as long as my kids don't get to play with the child we're not affected naman.
Either i tell the parents out of concern, or i limit the interaction with them as much as possible na lang.

Kung ako yan, unless super close ko like BFF Ko or my sister, hindi nalang ako magsasalita. At the end of the day, sila naman ang parents and  more than anyone sila lang ang talagang nakakaalam ng behavior ng anak nila.

My daughter nagkaspeech delay dati (no autism), ako na mismo nakapansin na speech delay sya. Walang nagsabi sa akin.

Thanks sis! You're right...i think better na hindi ko nalang sabihin.

Kudos to parents like you. Acceptance really is the first step. Para habang mas maaga magkaroon ng intervention and then improvement. 👍

Good luck to all moms (and dads)...understanding, patience and all efforts will surely pay off in the end.

Question sa inyo mga momsies.

Nauubusan ba kayo na pasensiya minsan na nasasaktan niyo na yung anak niyo? How do you deal sa mga sumpong nila? What if the time na sinusumpong sila nasa worst mood ka din?

And how do you manage giving balance attention if for example yung isang anak niyo is very fast maka pick up and giving you some signs of advance learning tapos one of your child has autism?

A who can't even tell what she feels.  Although pag tinutukan ko naman nakikita ko naman improvement niya, sumasagot naman pero very limited pa rin kasi kaya niya sabihin at the age of 6 eh. Ayoko naman sila pagsabihan kasi baka isipin pakialamera ako.  I hear pa minsan they are comparing the two na porke yung isa pwedeng nang utusan samantalang hindni nila magawa un kay pamangkin A.

Thank you for your replies.

Share ko lang, my son is studying in a Montessori school. They cannot express themselves and they are always overwhelmed pag maraming tao. Pero minsan mas nakakaawa yung nag-aalaga sa bata, coz they are being hit, kicked and being shouted at by the kids.

I really admire the SPED (Special Education) Teachers, coz it really takes patience and understanding in order for them to interact with the kids. They must really love their job para maging effective sila sa students

^SIS FIFI-GIRL, my son has adhd but he never hit his yaya or me. he is even overly sensitive and very caring. if we have to go and leave his yaya at home, he will turn the tv channel to his yaya's favorite channel. and he is mindful in using please when asking for something. and bakit sila NAKAKATAWA?

But I never hit my son. Pag nawawalan ako ng patience,  time out muna ako saglit sa cr to breathe.

My son was diagnosed with mild autism. He only knows how to speak A-Z and count 1-10. I get frustrated at times, pero what more pa sa nararamdaman ng anak ko diba. It's hard  for him to communicate verbally.

I'm just grateful na I found a yaya who takes good care of my son. As much as I want to be a full-time mom,  :'(  hindi pa kakayanin because of the therapy class he needs to take.

My son was born with Down Syndrome, although baby pa lang naman sya now so wala pa naman sensory issues akong nakikita. However, he is expected to be delayed sa developmental milestones nya and syempre may mga taong mahilig magcompare na bakit hindi pa umuupo, tumatayo gumagapang, nagmamarathon, kumakain ng apoy, whatsoever. I learned to just smile and listen and I always say na "Glad you asked. We are actually working on that right now." And oftentimes, nagshishift yung pagcocompare with curiousity. So ako naman, I'm willing to explain further with excitement para naman magrub off sa kanila yung positivity ko about our "adventures".

The best advice I got when I was in grief about the diagnosis is to think of my child as typical baby first, rather than a child with Down Syndrome. And it worked pretty well. Most of the days, I really do forget that he has Down Syndrome. I come across parents kasi na parang dine-define na talaga nila yung anak nila as Down Syndrome baby. Kung "sinusumpong", sinasabi nila na kasi nga may Down Syndrome. But place yourself in their shoes, if you want something and hindi mo nga naman ma-express yung sarili mo, mafu-frustrate ka din diba.

Masaya na mahirap to have a child with unique set of abilities. Ang wish ko lang sana mas aware ako with Down Syndrome before para hindi ko na-experience yung grief. Sobrang hirap emotionally for me siguro nga kasi wala akong kaalam alam noon. I even have to see a counsellor. It was that bad. Mas matindi pa sa post partum depression.

I hope you don't mind me asking, saan school ng anak mo?

I asked kasi my son is currently studying sa same center ng therapy niya, progressive type siya. I plan on transferring him to a different school by the time na mag grade one na siya.

Question sa inyo mga momsies.

Kapag ganyan, walk away and breathe. Basta safe yung bata ah, tipong nasa safe na room. Mahirap kasi talaga, it takes a lot of patience to raise a child in the spectrum or other disabilities. Btw, ako rin nagquit magwork para more time for my kid pero may yaya pa rin kami para if ever may lakad may mapagiiwanan. Hindi ko sinasabing you have to quit your work to attend to your child ah.

^sis gil12, he is studying in bulacan, since we live there. He is currently in Senior Nursery level, and i also plan on transferring him to a different school when he enters elementary. Progressive and Montessori schools are almost the same (i think) sabi ng teacher. Mas okay kase sa kanya yung setup ng montessori/progressive type, so we'll stick to this method na lang. May finding sa kanya na borderline ASD so he is also attending OT sessions in the same school. Ang maganda kase dun, his Teachers and Therapist can discuss his weakness and work it out in class.

Hi sis  :)

My son was Diagnosed last week with GDD.

It took us a year bago namen sya mapa assess, kasi inobserve pa namen sya. He's 3  & 1/2 years old. Working abroad kasi kame ni hubby kaya natagalan.
Halos one year akong worried at search ng search regarding autism, ngayon may result na somehow i was relieved... atleast alam na namen what to do. Now pa lang ako ng search regarding GDD. Hoping na maka habol agad sya to his age.
They will send un update thru email.

Have a good day mga sis  :)
