yes. GSIS is as good as SSS naman eh. so ok na yan, then NSO birth cert. if married, marriage contract. pero bring your other IDs pa rin, just in case.

Just had our passports renewed and got new passports for the kids. Booked last week and appointment was yesterday. 4 kami and it only took us an hour lang in DFA. They had special encoding sections for family applications so we didn't have to wait long. Dala lang namin were:

Me and hubby (renewal)
Old passports
Photocopies of front and back portions of old passports (3 copies kasi for the kids din)
NSO Marriage certificate
NSO Birth Certificates

Kids (2yo, 6yo) - new applicants
NSO Birth Certificates
Photocopies of front and back portions of passports of parents

Went there yesterday and will get the passports by Feb 7 daw.

The same thing happened to me. I called their hotline and did my booking over the phone. Family application kasi kami, renewal and new passports.

tinatanggap kaya nila yung postal at TIN ID? yung NCII license kaya na issue ng TESDA tinatanggap nila? thanks

so i asked for help sa QC civil registry for me to be able to process the papers faster.. as soon as they released the approved certificate of finality na corrected na sa QC civil registry, i went to DFA agad para makiusap kung pwedeng yun na muna ang ipresent ko since if i'd still wait for the NSO copy, medyo matagal pa.. eh, i really need my passport soon.. buti nalang nice and mabait yung nakausap ko sa DFA and accepted my action pero once nagpa-renew daw ulit ako ng Passport, i should present the NSO copy na..

i hope payagan din ako, sis. my mom found out na even if we corrected my name sa birth certificate back in 2009, sa NSO it's still showing the wrong spelling. nakakaloka. i remember my mom's name was different sa passport back in 2001 kasi iba yung name na registered sa birth certificate niya all due to a mistake sa province. she was able to travel using the 'old' name na pinaregister when she was born and not the name she's been using for all her life. ang gulo but she was able to go around the whole problem.

^ sis.. i got my corrected NSO copy na.. ang nangyari kasi, i myself submitted the corrected Birth Certificate from the Local Civil Registry to NSO east avenue and they gave me a date kung kelan ko makukuha yung corrected NSO copy.. ok naman, same yung printed, may additional Note lang sa baba nung NSO certificate na corrected na yung spelling ng middle name ko.. baka ang nangyari sa case mo, hindi naiforward ng civil registry sa NSO yung correction kaya hindi pa updated sa NSO yung corrected name mo.. if you have time, siguro follow up mo nalang sa Local Civil Registry where you were born.. tapos ikaw na mismo ang pumunta sa NSO para isubmit yung certificate of finality from the civil registry para maupdate sa NSO..

^Yes only if you're bringing him/her outside of the country.

Last year nov. 2011 nag expired passport q.. Maiden name yun nakaindicate dun.. Got married last jan.2009.. I'm planning to renew my passport using my maiden name possible kaya yun? Meron kasi akong apply abroad nagamit ko sa pagpasa ng requirements yun old passport ko... Problem lang yun mga id's ko [textspeak!] postal & nbi surname n ng asawa ko gamit ko tsaka yun lang talaga available kong id.

I already have my MRP with expiry date Feb. 8, 2013.  My problem is that we have a scheduled trip for HKG on Aug. 29, 2012, a few weeks shy of the 6-month passport validity required for most
travel.  Do I still need to have my passport renewed for said trip?

Just follow the procedure for renewal of passport (whether you have brown, green or the MRP) and bring the required documents.  There's actually another set of requirements for those who wish to revert to using their maiden name or use the spouse's name.  So there should be no problem if you wish to retain your maiden name and use it in your passport.

However, if you already have a baby and you would wish for your child to have a passport, to avoid inconveniences in immigration counters, it is best that by that time your passport reflect your married name so it will reflect the same surname as with your child.

Hi! I got my passport 2008 pa and will expire 2013.  I got married last year. Do I have to renew my passport and change status kahit di pa expired?

My hubby just got his passport this year and yung sa kanya married na nakalagay.

We'll be going out of the country this March and I'm worried baka magkaproblems kami dahil maiden name ko pa yung nasa passport ko..

^^ok lang yan sis. basta consistent sa iba pang IDs na dadalhin mo na puro maiden name and of course sa ticket.. bring a copy na din of your marriage certificate just in case an immigration officer would ask you why are you travelling with a married man. hehe.

^ Haha! Thanks sis! Yung ticket ko maiden name pa din kasi we booked this trip last year pa. Wala pa akong ID na may new surname ko pero we have na our marriage contract Certified True Copy pa lang pero authenticated by NSO na. Wala pa kasi sa NSO eh kaya CTC pa lang nakuha namin.

Mga sis, bukas na ba yung DFA satellite office sa Robinsons Galleria? Would anyone know if they also process new applications for passport, or renewal lang?

Need ko din mag apply ng new passport for my kids.... pano pala kung kapag ide-deliver na yung passport sa bahay ay wala ako, pede ba na iba ang tumanggap o kailangan ako talaga...

^Pwede iba tumanggap as long as the person receiving it has an authorization letter from you. Ganyan din ginawa ko when I had my passport delivered.

yung authorization letter ba ipapagawa ko pa sa abogado or pede handwritten note ko na lang....

^Handwritten lang with a photocopy of any of your valid ID na meron specimen signature mo. Like your driver's license or company ID.
