sis katiztic, re: using your spose surname - yung ginawa ko, i waited for my carriage cert muna from NSO, then nagpapalit ako ng surname sa driver's license (or any government issued i.d.) tapos saka ako pumunta sa DFA para magparenew. hahanapan ka rin kasi ng i.d. with your married name kaya para di na hassle, e di wait ka na lang ng konti. pinakaimportante talaga yung NSO copy.

question, ok lang ba mag renew ng passport early next year kahit sa 2013 pa ang expiration? kase balak namin umalis ni bf ng march 2012 kaso ang tinatangap sa agencies dito sa pinas eh atleast 2 years dapat ang expiration ng passport pag nadeploy na.. huhuh. so kung 2013 hindi aabot, baka hindi sya matanggap thanks sa sasagot!

My friend went to DFA yesterday to renew her passport. She wants to use na her married name. She was married last dec. Then, i think nagparenew siya ng passport niya around 1st qtr of this year. She used her maiden name pa rin nung time na yun kasi hindi pa nirerelease ng NSO yung marriage certificate nila. Na-question siya kahapon sa DFA kung bakit daw ganun ang dineclare niya. She told them na may scheduled siyang trip, need niyang magkapassport, and hindi pa nirerelease ni NSO yung marriage certificate nila so wala pa siyang mappresent. Sabi ni DFA, pwede daw siyang kasuhan dahil dun. Ang ginawa na lang ata kahapon is kinausap siya ng director and nagsecure siya ng affidavit explaining about the incident. Inis na inis siya, sobrang sungit daw ng staff na nasa glass window. E hindi naman siya aware dun. Iniisip nila na baka siguro pwede ipakita yung sa Civil Resgistry something, sana pinakita na lang din niya nun.

Share ko lang experience ko sa passport renewal:
*logged in at their website at around 11PM, Nov 9, 2011.. got an appointment for Nov 14 @ 10:30PM
*arrived @ dfa @ around 915am, ang bilis ng pila kahit super daming tao. Tapos na ko after 2 hrs
*rush processing: releasing date after 10 days: Nov 28... delivery date from LBC, Nov 29.
*got my passport as promised...Nov 29 

In fairness, efficient na ang DFA... keep up the good work! Sana tuloy tuloy na...

ask lang ako mga sis, puede bang mag log in sa website nila kahit andito ako sa davao? i have to renew my green passport na kasi..tia sa makasagot

uhm, is it ok to present a NSO-issued birth certificate which I got last 2006 pa as supporting document if ever? Im renewing a green passport in a few days. Thanks

^Oo naman sis. Hindi naman nag-eexpire ang NSO issued document unlike the NBI clearance.

thanks for responding promptly i just need to make sure I've got all bases covered in as far as compliance with requisites is concerned. Well, you know how certain agencies aren't spared from the quirks. Case in point, when I was claiming a business permit I was asked to present a SSS ID or an E1 certificate or form. Since I didn't bring any of those, I asked why there was a need for it and what was its relevance in relation to my securing the business license. Basta kelangan lang DAW! The point is, kung kelangan sya talaga dap at naka-indicate sa claim slip na binigay sa'kin or at the least, there shld be a huge note stating that near the concerned section or department. Wala eh!

you have to bring the NSO Autheticated copy of your birth cert. plus bring photocopy lang in case. take note lang na kukuhanin nila yung NSO copy ha. hindi mo na yun makukuha ulit.

^Thanks sis. Actually I just came from DFA this morning. Happy to note that although my appointment was scheduled at 10:30 am, natapos agad ng 10:00 am. Was there kasi around 9:30 and ang bilis ng processing. My passport will be released on January 12 daw, ang bilis rin

Just a note to those wearing contacts (colored or clear): Make sure you bring your contacts case and solution na rin because I was asked to remove mine for picture-taking (I have natural brown eyes kasi). Buti na lang meron silang nakatabi which they lent to me, wala nga lang solution.

hello sis, may problem ba yung appointment system ng DFA? Kasi laging "For agency applications, please visit dfa.gov.ph. Thank you." yung lumalabas. Eh hindi naman kami nagapply sa agency. For renewal sana to eh. Thanks!

I understand if you're wearing colored contacts kasi hindi naman natural sa yo yun but clear contacts? I was wearing my contacts when I had my passport renewed last Sept pero hindi pinatanggal sa akin. I also have natural brown eyes. Is that a new requirement?

^I don't know if it's a new requirement but I found it strange too. Maybe it's because I want to use my maiden name for my passport kaya ang dami nilang tanong sa akin at nanigurado din?

Looks like I will have more problems with changing my name in the passport. I live in Cagayan de Oro kasi and unfortunately for me, 6 days after my wedding eh bagyong sendong. Yung local civil registrat eh binaha, as in the whole office. so i have to check if they managed to actually register my marriage

kaloka kasi i need the marriage certficate for everything!

Uhmm by the way, in changing names sa passport, do they issue another passport bearing your new name? kasi i want yung pinakamakapal na passport with many blank pages, since i have so many work-related travels lined up this and next year.

i had problems when i renewed my passport last october.. they held it pending since hindi nagtugma yung middle name ko with my birth certificate.. mei isang letter lang na wrong spelling.. so i needed to correct it at QC civil registry and wait for the NSO copy to be realesed.. that would take months! mga 6 months..

so i asked for help sa QC civil registry for me to be able to process the papers faster.. as soon as they released the approved certificate of finality na corrected na sa QC civil registry, i went to DFA agad para makiusap kung pwedeng yun na muna ang ipresent ko since if i'd still wait for the NSO copy, medyo matagal pa.. eh, i really need my passport soon.. buti nalang nice and mabait yung nakausap ko sa DFA and accepted my action pero once nagpa-renew daw ulit ako ng Passport, i should present the NSO copy na..

so there you go, they continued processing my passport na with the right spelling of my middle name.. and i received it after a 7 working days..

hello mga sis may tanong lang ako.. may appointment schedule kasi ako by february 6.. yung gsis id saka philhealth id pwede na yun as my valid id? yung tin saka postal id pala supporting document lang pala siya sabi nung nagtanong ako.. wala na kasi ako id meron sa company kaso ngresign na ko.. thanks poh
