Lipa Batangas Wedding (Caterers. Churches and Venue)

To those getting married at St. Therese of the Child Jesus in Talisay, Lipa, you have to read this.

We went to STOTCJ last saturday to submit our requirements. Luckily, there was an ongoing wedding so we had the chance to observe. The coordinators are provided by the church. Mukhang maayos, sinita pa nga kami kasi nakatayo kami sa may pinto, well not naman sinita but we were asked to sit down. Ibig sabihin mahigpit sila sa mga pakalat-kalat pero polite naman.

The choir is composed of kids, which is really nice and the musicians are all very good. We noticed that the couple has their own officiating priest but we also noticed that the Parish Priest, Fr. Quiambao, is among the musicians playing the Bajo de Arco. Ok diba? Here's the deal-breaker...

After the communion, Fr. Quiambao took over the podium. Kala namin may aannounce lang or magpapasalamat. But no, moment nya ito. He "acknowledged" the members of the entourage one by one, pintatayo nya tapos minsan nagjojoke pa sya, parang Willie lang. Para tuloy show. Ang ending eh may 2nd collection. Ok lang sana kaso nagmoment pa talaga sya, pampatagal pa tsaka medyo nahihiya ako sa entourage because of that unnecessary calling of names. Parang nasira yung solemnity nung ceremony.

At di lang yan, I have a vision of how I would like to have my entrance. May song akong gusto na nireplay ko na ng ilang beses sa utak ko. Kaso sabi ng choir master, may 2 choices lang ako for the Bride's entrance, pag iniba raw nya papagalitan daw sya ni Father. So yun, dream-crasher.

Buti na lang maganda talaga yung church. We'll just have to warn our guests.

BTW, to those searching for a nice budget hotel (for accommodation lang ha), I strongly recommend Hotel Cara along JP Laurel Highway. Very affordable pero very nice ang rooms, malinis. It's a no-frills budget hotel na ok for your guests that wants to stay overnight but are on a tight budget.

@1234md, nice blog. You didn't check out Cintai Corito's Garden? The garden we got is about 40K and can accommodate 150 pax. It's actually the only reason why we r having the wedding in Lipa.

^^ for caterer, aside from juan carlo, you might like to try "On The Big Day Catering by Abeth Catindig".  coming from la-salle going to city proper, lagpas lang ng konti ng mcdo yung shop nila.  yung nasa kanto ng short cut going to robinson's (sorry forgot the street name).  it's actually a one-stop shop so if there's anything else you need meron sila marerecommend.  if you need their contact details just pm me.

@girl_fashionista, I inquired dati regarding On the Big Day, mura sila and parang maganda set-up sa pictures sa website but medyo matagal sila sumagot and I was hesitant kasi nga ang mura. You know what you get when you're paying peanuts. I saw their shop at Morada Ave. Maliit lang sya. And there's not much feedback about them kaya parang nakakatakot to trust them on one of the most (if not THE most) important aspect of your wedding. @yoyomasterpups, customizable ba package ng PC? As much as I want to get them, baka kasi by 201; super expensive na sila. Pero pilitin ko na sila yung makuha. Kasi mas priority ko food and styling than venue Share pics of your wedding ha. Is basic styling included in PC's basic package or you always have to pay additional for themed weddings?

I am thinking of CSI Events Centre, kasi mura lang compared sa ibang function halls in Lipa pero di ko pa nakita if okay yung place. Also, there's a Batangas based photovid RMRdigital.com. You might want to check them out to save on OOT fees. Mukang okay naman yung work nila but my PV is Manila-based. 6k din yung OOT fee.

@1234md, kasama naman yung basic styling sa package. You'll just have to add if there are more details involved and depende rin sa details. My second choice after passion cooks is Juan Carlo The Caterer. They don't have OOT fee for Batangas if I'm not mistaken. And the food is great. Kaso the styling is kinda generic. Another popular caterer in Lipa is Cesca's Kitchen, I haven't tasted their food though and the styling is also generic. BTW, mukang mura din na venue ang bluroze farms.

Re photo/video, I already booked Jaja Samaniego and Joel Salindong - picked them out of 600 suppliers!

Ray Mayo is my lights n sounds supplier. They're recommended by my friend, Francisbrew (former [textspeak!] 107 & The Dawn). I do trust his reco since he's a musician and knows this stuff a lot better than me. And H2B also said maganda gamit nila and he's also a musician so I guess ok na ok sila. Madali rin kausap si sir Ray. The rate I got is 15K. But I think this is a discounted rate already kase classmate nya dati si Francis, hehe.

^sis Rachabel yong church mismo ng San Jose, maganda, grand and ang ganda ng loob nya. Historic ang dating nya kase antique and dating ng structures nya, very nice. We have visited it during our Visita Iglesia last year :-)

Hi everyone, our wedding is finally over and it was so much fun! So here's a quick assessment of Lipa Suppliers:

Church: St. Therese of The Child Jesus - Kung hindi lang talaga maganda yung Church and its surroundings, I wouldn't recommend this. Outside coordination is not allowed. The Church coordination, however, is probably the most unfortunate thing that happened during our wedding. Walang nag-assist sa amin sa altar (i.e. holding the mic, etc), they did not alert the Mass offerors (which are found in the Missalette that they didn't bother to open) so nakakahiya sa officiating Priest namin who was waiting at the altar for the offerings. And of course, nag "program" ang Parish Priest after the communion (see my past post about this). And to top it off, bawal magshower ng petals and they will remind guests about this in a rather rude manner.

Flowers: Flowers and Greens Lipa - Satisfied with their service, maganda yung bouquet ko! I love the cactus flowers. And they managed to follow the ribbon colors that I want. Winner.

Tent: Frelud's Tent Batangas City - Ok yung tents, maayos, malinis and set-up was done 2 days prior. Pinaganda pa ng mga nakasabit na plaka for our styling.

Preps/Reception Venue: Cintai Corito's Garden - Everyone is raving about how beautiful the place is. Medyo mahirap nga lang dahil maraming hagdan pero it's worth it. We have our own butler for the rooms, maasikaso sila and they let us overstay (for a small surcharge). The rooms are huge and so nice. Bathroom is great, may bidet pa. Wala lang wifi at that time pero meron daw talaga. Wala rin other amenities found in city hotels (i.e. telephone, blower, robe, laundry bags, etc). Also, they forgot to inform me that there's a 10% corkage for outside catering, ang laki nun ha! but hindi nila sinigil na kasi nga di nila sinabi beforehand.

Lights n Sounds: Ray Mayo RM Lights n Sounds - the best in Lipa. they even brought their own tent.

Hi shmoo12, Pavillion Tresna is the large pavillion right? I think it's around 200K, it used to be 140K ata pero before pa yun. That's way too expensive so we got the garden near the pool for 48.8K evening rate, may kasamang overnight stay sa terrace villa.

Hi Aprilmk, the Garden without trellis (that's what they call it) accommodates 150 pax. We also used the bar garden as holding/cocktails area for free. I haven't posted the pics but here's our SDE video: http://vimeo.com/55719033
