The Insular VUL we got it for retirement purposes, I can choose the insurance
benefit kasi thereby controlling the amount of charges and I can also choose
the amount of premiums unlike sa Sunlife where the insurance benefit has a fixed
premium. This way I have money that is protected from estate taxes and also
just protected in general as money in insurance policies are not garnishable(as far as I know)

The Manulife term insurance was purchased when we got a home loan. They had the cheapest
product that had critical illness coverage, disability coverage due to both illnesses and/or accident.
I wanted our home loan paid for if something happend to either of us.

Mxxher, what is the name of that policy from Insular that allows you to choose the amount of premiums?

And I'm thinking of getting term insurance from Manulife also. Which companies did you compare your policy with to make you say ito yung most bang for the buck?

@caterpillar

Wealth Secure is its name.

I compared between Sunlife,Insular,Manulife,Axa,Prulife and Philam.

And Manulife's term is the best bang for the buck considering my needs.
Kung peso amount lang ang uusapan though, si Insular ang cheapest.

1500 a month is 18k per year, either you get a VUL or term life.

define child's future for you.

yeah, what chefron said..

what do you mean by securing your child's future?
you mean ba, education nya?

If so, go get a 15 year term life so if something
happens, her education won't get compromised.
You can add riders where if you get disabled,
you also get the insurance benefits.

Yes, you can. It's best if there is a personal meeting to understand your financial goals.

Last year AXA launched a VUL education plan called academix, which also allowed attaching the Bright rider that would ensure that your child gets the mains to study even if something happens to the premium payor. Check it out by making an appointment at: https://myaxabiz.secure.force.com/myaxapartner

On private companies din meron din sila like yung previous work ko AVIVA ang kinuha nila to insured their employees.  Okay yung my protector totoo din pero ang policy term nya is 50 years ang inooffer sa akin proposal for my age face amount is $300,000SGD tapos bayad lang siguro mga 124sgd+++pero ang catch nun is 50 years mo sya babayaran well pwede mo naman iterminate pero walang cash value meaning to say wala kang makukuha amount at based din dun sa nagpaliwanag sa akin karamihan ng mga local dito since marameng utang at puro shopping galore.. Tapos malaki binabayaran sa bangko kase nakahome loan yng bahay dun sila kumukuha nito meaning nakaloan yung bahay nila then kukuha sila nito for certain period of time para just incase may mangyare eh may makukuha yung maiiwan at may pambayad sa utang.

May inooffer din sila sa akin whole life plan coverage up to 99years tapos worldwide coverage for $50,000SGD FACE VALUE annual premium mo eh $1,660SGD tapos on the first 20 years ng plan mo coverage ka instead of $50,000SGD ginawa nilang $100,000SGD for first 20 years tapos yung sususnod na eh back to your basic FACE VALUE na $50,000SGD.  Kaganadahan nito is meron cash value sya the more na magstay yung pera mo sa kanila they offer dividend ayun makukuha mo din yung just in case may mnagyre sayo or isureender mo na yung policy.  15 years to pay toh then nagtanung ako panu kung marelocate ako or umuwe na ako sa pinas sabe is pwede daw bayaran through cheque or through GIRO na automatic dito na kakalatasin sa savings mo as ling as dapat may fund pa sa aacount mo. Ayun sana nakatulong napapaisip akong kumuha ng whole life eh...

kuha ka ng VUL if you want ng life insurance with investment component. merong 18k per annum lang na VUL with 1m face amount, regular pay meaning as long as you live, pwede syang monthly din.
OR
you can get another TERM insurance with higher face amount with lesser premium.

its your choice, kung san magaan at di makakistorbo sa finances nyo at the same time yung magbebenefit ka ng mas.

Term insurance are the most cost efficient with regards to premiums and coverage amount; a low premium cost and with a high coverage amount. Its designed this way to because its provides the most basic risk management needs, which is life insurance only. That's the reason to the popular idea of investors to "buy term and invest the difference". And they have the skills to do precisely that-- grow their money.

Nowadays, there are products that combine the value of protection and investments for a number of purposes like retirement, education funding or simply just plainly growing our money without taking forgranted the risk management side of financial planning.

just my two cents...
