sa ultrasound report sis, hanapin mo lang yung EFW or estimated fetal weight. in grams yun nakalagay. if your baby naman is getting too big, sasabihan ka ng ob mo eh. yung iba sa 8th month ng pregnancy, kung masyadong malaki si baby, pinapagdiet tapos sinasabihan na better manganak earlier on kaysa palagpasin pa ang 40th week kung pwede naman sa 37th-28th. pero kung masyadong malaki na naman baby mo or kelangan mo magdiet, winarningan ka na dapat ni ob nung last checkup mo.
OGTT is yung glucose test para macheck for gestational diabetes. usually kapag may history ng diabetes sa family, gestational diabetes sa previous pregnancy, or may signs of possible gestational diabetes/GDM, pinapag OGCT/OGTT ng OB. kapag may GDM na sa previous pregnancy, first trimester pa lang pinapagawan na nung test. pero ang usual naman is during the 26-28th week pinapagawa yung test. like mine, maski may history ng diabetes family ko, 28th week ako pinag OGCT.
yung OGCT, there is no fasting. papainumin ka ng 50ml (or 100ml) of glucose tapos kukuhanan ng dugo after an hour, and yun yung ichecheck ng spike ng blood sugar levels. ito yung ginawa saken instead of the OGTT agad kasi tingin ng OB ko, baka di naman ako GDM positive. kaso i failed my OGCT, medyo mataas sa normal yung nakuha ko, so papaurinalysis ako sa weekend, and depending sa result nun kung magpapaOGTT ako or not.
yung OGTT, at least 8 hours of fasting before the test. OGTT 100 means 100ml glucose pinainom sa kanya. apat na beses ka kukuhanin ng dugo, with one hour interval in between the blood draws. mas accurate yung makukuhang results from this one. we have a gestational diabetes thread sis, if may history ka ng diabetes, check yun thread naten na yun sa pregnancy and childbirth forum.
basta trust your OB sis, and if may doubts ka, google. hindi doctor si google, but it would help you answer a lot of questions. ako din first time mom and naging best friend ko si google regarding pregnancy hehe.
