This is an excerpt from my blog about facebook:
But what I don't wanna see are:
"Punta muna akong SM to buy a new plaid skirt! Weee! Going Korean now!"
"Busy ako ngayon."
"s***! Nakatapak akong s***!"
"Mahal na mahal kita, di ko akalain pagmumukhain mo akong t****! Hayup ka!"
"Anurin ka na sana ng tsunami, kaya mag-aral ka na magswimming ngayon pa lang. Pakielamera!"
"Magdala ng payong, uulan ng radiation. - CNN"
"Katatapos ko lang mag-toothbrush, narealize ko may naipit pa pala akong tinga. lol."
"Ohhh, I love Justin Bieber. I've got fever."
"I'm eating balut right now - with peanut butter and salt. Sarap."
"Nakalunok ng holen ang anak ko. Help!"
"Wala na kami. Oh sad. =( Anyone free tonight? =)"
"Honey, later, mmmmmmmmmm, sarap. yum yum. tsup tsup."
"Zzzzzzz..."
"Hawig mo si Bentong dito, baby. Nonetheless, I love you no matter what. Hahahahaha." (101 comments...)
Funny. Stupid. Ridiculous. Crap.
It's as if I care if you started to go Korean and buy a new plaid skirt or started wearing knee-high boots and winter ear muffs even if we are living in a tropical country. Or you would post that you're busy when you're obvioulsy online and facebooking. And that immediately after you stepped on some nasty animal waste, you chose to update us with your wonderful experience, than clean up. And bore the world with your Bieber fever and other gross things like your body odor, mole hair, and tooth decay. And seriously, announcing to the public that you recently broke up with your beau and you wanna get it on with god knows whoever, and that you suddenly had the carnal urge and you wanna get it on. And that you have a medical emergency and instead of calling the ambulance you updated us with it. Much worse, 59 comments are coming in saying "OMG." "lol". "!!!" and all that. But no one actually, personally came to the rescue or even gave a sound advise on what to do. If your husband or boyfriend resembles Bentong or Ronald McDonald, just bluntly say it to him, not to us. And "Zzzzzzzz"

Come on. Who would believe you are asleep???
People have started to become too busy. To pick up the phone, to do the laundry, to cook for their kids and husbands, to write an email or a note and to apply for a job. People now spend hours on social-media sites, uploading photos, answering stupid quizzes, playing games, posting nonsense one-liners, tweeting their latest whereabouts and adventures, updating their status from "f***." to "f***. f***.", poking and tagging away.
Mildred poked you. (I don't like being actually poked at all.)
Steven tagged you in the album "On the Grand Carousel with my dear friends". (I don't want the public to see photos where I'm not looking my best.)
Nicholas commented on your photo. (Again.)
Nancy likes your status. (Ugh.)
Bert sent you a request in Amityville. (Isn't it too obvious I don't want to play?)
You have 183 friend requests. (Do I know all of you? Why the hell do you all know me???)
Do not air your dirty laundry in public. This I learned the tough way.
In one way or another, we all have something in our lives that we are unhappy about or not satisfied with. But then again, here comes facebook, where people post photos of their nicer homes, better vacations, higher paying jobs, happier weekend parties, grandiose romantic gifts, and slimmer bodies. People just started bragging through their posts and comments. And sometimes, we don't know that these posts affect others, because they highlight the failures and shortcomings others find in their lives.
