Haha. I love the comments on why it is justified to spend so much on skincare and cosmetics. Babae talaga tayo. Anyways, the thing is, don't feel guilty! Skincare and cosmetics, as you know, is not really a need like food and water. But it is arguably a must, for several reasons - to look good, to feel good, self-confidence, to feel empowered etc. Like for me, with make-up, I feel like I am a better version of myself.

So go for it, if you have alotted a budget and it is a well-thought out purchase, why not? You deserve to face the world with skin and made-up face you paid for with money you earned. But the thing is, with cosmetics, like men, it is a hit and miss thing. Just because it is expensive and looks promising, it doesn't mean it is a good fit for you. Reviews help and but in the end, it is a case to case basis. In sum, just go buy! Really. You will only find what works for you after trying it out.

Goodluck sis. Happy shopping!

hi sis,

i am a big spender din when it comes to skin care and makeup so i totally understand how you feel. i'd rather spend on cosmetics rather than on clothes or shoes.

i will be a hypocrite if i say 40k is too much because i think i spend way more than that, yun nga lang staggered yung akin. 3k-5k every week but if you add them all up, huge amount na din.

if you want, start with really the basics and mix-match high end brands with drugstore brands that works well :) like for example:
1. if you have 2 gel eye liners na, why do you need to get pencils pa?
2. for lipsticks / lipglosses  - i don't believe you need really expensive brands kasi at the end of the day, nawawala din sya agad sa lips!
3. for blush/bronzer, why not get the blush/bronzer duo from nars? i think that will save you around a thousand pesos more or less. or NARS has great sets try getting those to save some moolah
4. you may want to skip translucent/ setting powder since you have powder foundation na.

if it makes you happy - go for it! :) kasi baka pag kinasal ka na, mahirapan ka na bumili. think of it as your last "single" splurge. minsan kasi mga hubbys di nila maintindihan yung need to buy expensive cosmetics. i guess im one of the lucky few :)

as long as you have extra money to spend for it, why not? especially for skin care because we need to take care of our skin while we are still young. we need to invest kasi mahal magpa thermage :)

i'm a big make up junkie and it just makes me feel happy buying a new tube of lipstick or eyeshadow.

On skin care, especially if you are at my age (late 30s), I'd say yes. :)  It saves you from spending thousands on derma visits. :D

On makeup, yes too.  High-end makeup brands are just better.  The finish is better.  It does not cause rashes or make you break out, generally.  And the shades are simply divine. ;D

i dont spend that much on makeup din naman so yeah 40K for makeup is a bit too much
have to agree skincare na lang because it starts with good skin.

siguro hndi ko lang talaga priority ang makeup so i find that too much. makeup is like an add-on
for me. saka one Girltalker's comment made a mark on me. sabi nya why spend so much e mga
kapwa adik lang naman nya ang nakakapansin

pero you did mention na afford mo naman. ok lang siguro basta naman may savings ka and
you have enough to go around and for emergencies.

just look at my name. LOL. para sakin mas ok na magset aside ng budget each month for my luho kesa isang bagsak. mas masaya yung may nilulook forward every month. tapos gusto ko rin iba ibang brand, para makulay ang makeup kit. hahahaha. also eh usually kasi labas ng labas ng bago ang mga cosmetic companies na you will surely lust after. hehe

As I get old, gadgets, clothes, shoes and bags aren't my priorities now. I spend a lot on my skincare to at least delay my aging. I want to get old with grace haha... Honestly I am turning 30 this september but I manage not to look like one. Probably because I spend a lot with skincare to keep me looking young.

I'd invest in good skin care than cosmetics.  Nothing beats clear skin as foundation for great look!

I just bought $250+ worth of skin care online, kesa bumili ng mukaps. Ito muna priority ko ngayon, nasa 20s na ako eh. :D It's better to invest on good skin than cosmetics. Tsaka, madami na rin akong make up. Haha! :)

everyone spends a lil too much on certain things. nagkataon sa'yo make up. whether u can afford it or not, once u feel that it's a bit too much, then it's probably too much.but to feel less guilty about your stash, use them (or if u don't use them, u can always share it with ur friends).

rehab ako sa make up ngayon for 7months now and i'm happy to have used up a lot from my stash, napunta naman sa skincare but then ok lang kasi i worked for it naman, i think i deserve it. you shouldn't feel guilty just as long as you can afford it, kung hindi and you try to like ipagpalit yung basic needs mo well thats another issue.

I would say to invest on a good skin care muna, but honestly I dont think your spending too much kasi ako rin ganyan :)) Though medyo stagger din yung pag bili pero minsan may time na everyday may nabibili ako haha cosmetics just gives me a natural high kind of feeling. I'm trying to start on my cosmetics no-buy, but I always fail. haha attempting nanaman ako ngayon! haha

But if you can afford it and it makes you happy then go for it.  :)

I really don't mind spending so much with skincare. Before I wear a lot of make up (but not naman magmukha akong clown) to cover blemishes. But I learned a lot from my hubby about taking care of our face, and now I spend a lot with my skincare. Swerte na lang if my skincare product will last at least three months hahaha. At most, I spend at least 10k for my skincare every month. But its all worth it naman. I can go out now even without make up and I look younger than my real age :)
