This is included in our (hubby & me) 5 year project. We want to pay our debt first, start our rental business while continuing our paper investments + long term healthcare. After nito kukuha na kami ng memorial plan + memorial lot.

Any reco for a memorial plan saka ano ba magandang himlayan sa may bandang Alabang/Bacoor Area?

This is one of my financial goals this year. Ang magstart makapaghulog for services and lots. Good thing I found this thread, backread muna ako.

I am also planning to get one (siguro St. Peter) pag bayad na 2 memorial lots na kinuha nameng magkakapatid. Sa Providence Memorial Park in Dasmarinas, Cavite kinuha namen. I convinced my sisters to invest on this kasi mahal din pag nawalan ka ng minamahal mo sa buhay.

When I was younger, ayaw ko itong pinag uusapan, parang takot kasi ako. St. Peter kinuha ko for me and mom. I paid in full for mom's while mine is annual naman.

share ko lang sa inyo sissies... kumuha ako ng st peter na memorial plan... the nice thing about it is you pay it in 5 years. on the 15th year, they return your money in staggered payment annually. pero the plan is still existing ha, with it, you get ilang days sa st peter for your service, a coffin and room depending on the plan you selected. plus, its transferrable. I know it kinda sounds morbid, i got it when i was only 26, pero sa tingin ko, maganda sha kasi u can get your money back in a couple of years, ibaon mo lang sa limot... thanks!

^ganyan din kinuha ko sis. tama, kasi nagmamahal din yan over time. i heard from a friend na nasa 16k lang yung cheapest plan ng st peter years ago. eh ngayon diba cheapest ata nasa 30k up, ito yung may rereturn na amount sa plan holder.

mas sulit ba yung may rereturn sa plan holder?

kasi mas mahal yun kesa yung walang return. hindi ba parang parehas rin lalabas?

for metal casket:

110t yung may return. 22t annual. (return is 20%-5x annual)

80t naman yung walang return.

Death is part of life. Di naman nakakamatay kumuha ng policy.

We're pro Memorial plan in the family. My aunt died when I was young due to cancer and nobody was ready for it. Ubos funds ng mga tao para sa medical expenses tapos wala pa Memorial plan so imagine the stress.
After that incident, kuha sila yung iba mga 2-3 plans agad. This was St. Peter 500 a month lang.

Recently naman grandparents ko magkasunod. Eh di naavail na nila some of the plans. After that replenish na right now looking at Loyola. Sawa na yata sa St Peter hehe.

For those thinking on getting death expenses from insurance, isn't that reimbursement style? Maglabas pa din ng cash so technically it's emergency fund plus insurance. Eh pano kung wala o kulang cash?
Still better to have Memorial plan Wala na isipin pa. Foods na lang siguro.

I did a comparison between St. Anne and St. John
because I won't be getting a wooden casket  8)
and these 2 have the same description and they look
similar in the pictures.

If instead of paying 22k a year for St. John and getting
, I instead get St. Anne and pay 15.8k a year
and invest the difference of 6.2k.

And if I get a constant return of 8.81% a year then I can afford
to get back 22k starting on the 16th year for 5 years and
on the 20th year I'd end up with 38 centavos.

So, in other words if you can get a higher return than 8.81%
then by all means go get the regular plan but if you can't then
the money back plans would make sense.

Peter and ready na para sa burol, they asked for the payment. Nagkaron ng misunderstanding between 2 parties. Ang lagay kasi need muna abonohan ng family ang funeral services then the family na magclaim sa sss dala ang receipt from st. Peter. At dahil wala nga sila pambayad they called my mom (uncle's sister) kasi mom's family ang nakakaangat sa magkakapatid.

Uy, tamang tama nakita kong thread na 'to.

I got a St. Francis plan in 2012. That was the cheapest they had then.
Ngayon meron na silang St. George (Php 29,000.00) na if spot-cash is 26,100.

I asked an agent if pwedeng i-return (or cancel) yung St. Francis contract ko so I would use the money and get a St. George plan and take the difference (to pay for my father's hospital bills).

Laking gulat ko na lang nung sinabi nila that I have to hold onto the plan for 5 or 6 years (so 2017 or 2018, di siya sure) and then I'll only get 10,000 back. Tama ba 'yun? So eto tumatawag ako sa QC branch nilas pero laging busy.

Anybody here care to shed some light on this?

^sis why do you need to cancel? ang alam ko pwede mong i-upgrade ang plan eh. ask your agent about it.
