I am trying to fly RT from the US to Manila on August.. Any suggestions where to get it cheapest?

Good luck trying to find cheap airfares for August from the US. That's peak travel time & you only have a month to go to purchase your tickets. Try checking online first then compare prices with your travel agent. You still might get something not so expensive if the tickets are highly restricted.

As your travel agent first, kasi sila yung makakaalam kung saan merong pinakamurang flight. Wag ka pupunta say office mismo ng airline, kasi wala ka masyadong choice kapag ganun. Pumunta ka dun sa travel agency na di exclusive sa isang airlines ang ticket na binebenta.

check first with the airlines because their rates will be your basis. then check online and check with all the travel agencies you can find. from experience, i haven't really come across a travel agency that has monopolized the cheapest airfare. it varies all the time. so it's best to check/canvass talaga and make sure to travel on a weekday since there's a $40 difference din. sayang din yun

I agree, try checking the prices online.  Compare prices for all possible airlines that fly from Manila to the US.  From there you can go to the agent and compare theirs.  If you want to save, Philippine Airlines usually charge more compared to other airlines so you might want to cross that out on your list (although sometimes, fare difference is insignificant that I'd rather pay a little more for the convenience of a direct flight to LA, for example).

Thanks! I use skyscanner app for iphone, they have a website too. Much better than cheapoair. Badtrip kasi i booked a flight sunday then the next day may lumabas na new flight which had a better time and $200 less. Boohoo.
And yes, the whole week of last week every couple of hours ko sha tinignan and it wasnt that low.

Am looking din for Oz return flights either MLA-OZ-MLA or SEOUL-OZ-SEOUL try ko nga
ang skyscanner. Ayoko sanang mag-tiger airways haha! And nakita kong pinakamura yung
 horizontravel.ph  ($800 return for MLA-MELBOURNE-MLA) but di naman sila nagrereply
sa queries ko waaa~ Mga $1k na kasi yung sa skyscanner eh~

Where do you normally purchase international airline tickets? From the airline directly, travel agency or travel sites (like expedia, orbitz, agoda, cheapoair, etc). TIA.

^thanks sis. I'll also do that. I'm scouting kasi cheap airline tickets eh gusto ng Dad ko sa China Airlines din going to Nagoya para sama sama kaming lahat. Sila kasi sa Japan bibili ng ticket nila.

hi mga sis,
is us$1197 cheap na? it's a PAL roundtrip fare to US on march-april 2012. the base fare is $772, but adding the taxes and fees, yan yung total.
i'll search pa at the websites mentioned here. first choice ko sana PAL because of the miles and free domestic trips pero kung malaki ang difference sa iba, dun na lang.

btw may i ask what other airlines here that have San Francisco flights aside from PAL?

^For a direct flight during peak season okay na yang price na yan. But if you're willing to wait and don't mind a stop over you can still get fares for less.
