Immigration officers, how to deal

almost 2 weeks ago nung nagtravel ako. mas mahigpit pa ang immigration dito sa pinas kesa sa HK at Macau! babaeng IO ang natapatan ko. tinanong san daw ako nagtatrabaho dito sa pinas at hiningi ang company ID ko. ano daw gagawin ko sa HK (9 days kasi ang trip ko na un). nakakaintimidate! parang ang baba ng tingin nya sakin. kaloka! akala siguro magttnt ako.

sinabi ko na magkikita lang kami ng asawa ko sa HK kaya matagal ang trip. tagal nya tinitigan ang passport ko. nung iaabot ko na ang copy ng plane ticket ni mister at hotel reservation namin, di na nya tiningnan at saka lang nya ko pinalampas. kaloka talaga!

samantalang sa HK at Macau, ni hindi ako tinanong ng kahit ano ng Immigration Officer.

Sinabi ko din sa fiance ko mga advice mo sis.. BIG HELP! salamat.. On Feb lipad ko, namimili na kami ng dates na OK din sa work schedule niya.

^ if you can actually get a letter of invitation from your fiance, it will be a vey big help (esp. if it was authenticated by their consul there, though this is optional or unless stated don sa mga requirements ng country).  Is he a foreigner or Pinoy din?  If Pinoy din, then better get a copy of his work permit, etc. 

wag ka kabahan sis, just act normally, wala ka naman dapat ika-nerbyos if you are going there legally e.  wag ka mapressure.  minsan nga if you show them pa na you are excited to be there, matutuwa sa yo IO.

Yes sisses;) tama, walang dapat ika-nerbyos if legal naman. Kinakabahan lang talaga siguro ako kasi first time ko talaga mag-tratravel ng mag-isa papuntang ibang bansa tapos ganun pa katagal ang biyahe. Di kasi ako sanay mag-isa <dependent disorder? hehe> INHALE!! EXHALE!! i can do it..hooooh!
Sige po, magpapa-print din po ako ng invitation letter, authenticated na din po iyon. Foreigner po fiance ko, he's from New Zealand but residing na sa Australia po for 14 years.

^ everything will be alright! just enjoy every minute of it.  first time ko rin mag-isa magtravel when I came here in MY to work.  kaya yan.  and when you are there, enjoy mo na rin, isipin mo na lang, makakasama mo fiance mo

sisses, thank you so much for sharing your experiences and tips po. Just booked my flight on Feb 7 to May 2 via Sg airlines;) yipee! Yung bf ng friend ko nag-wowork sa airport and he can assist me naman daw. I'm so excited na talaga hehe ganun na din ang fiance ko. Napa-print ko na din po lahat ng kailangan for IO's like all infos about my fiance his passport, visa and letter of invitation.
Salamat talaga sisses ah. . Gumaan talaga na loob ko ngayon!

^basta stay calm and composed sis. may mga IO na strict at matanong. lalo dito sa pinas! nakakaloka sila! bring company id (if you are working), credit cards, atm na pwede international (yung BPI mo pwede yan basta may cirrus at maestro na logo sa likod). paulit-ulit minsan tanong nila pero wag ka magpapakita na kabado ka. don't wear too thick make-up and sexy or revealing clothes. as long as you'll stay there legally and no other intentions, you're safe.

^yes sis!;) Thank you.. Unemployed po ako sis.. PRC or postal ID i have, ok na po ba un? March pa kasi sana yung papasukan ko dito, kaso di na rin matutuloy kasi aalis nga ako.
Embarkation card po? unemployed na din talaga ilagay ko? or kahit self-employed <pero wala naman pa po talaga akong pinag-aabalahan>?

^^ bring your prc and postal id. if you put self employed on the card, when they ask you what kind of business do you have? can you give them an explanation, yung tuloy tuloy, yung walang pause na para kang nag iisip ng sagot sa tanong nila. if you could pull that off, then ok lagay mo self employed.
hindi ka naman budget airline, so i guess di naman sila matanong dun. based on my experience pag cebu pacific yung airline na sinakyan ko dun lang matanong yung IO. pero pag big airlines like pal, jal, korean air, thai air etc di naman ako nainterview ng todo ng IO. parang tinitignan lang nila yung card, passport and i don't even remember if they looked at my plane ticket.

^ naku sis, deadmahin mo lang, usually, yong mga lagay na yan, pag nahahalata nila na desperado ka ng makaalis ng bansa or those with incomplete requirements.

sis, wag ka magagalit ha, pero you are pressuring yourself too much on this issue with IO pagalis mo, heheh. just be calm.  ok lang yan.  wag mo isipin ng isipin, ang isipin mo, aalis ka para makasama mo fiance mo.

last sept, i travelled alone to the US for a business trip. i was so nervous din kasi it's my first time to go to the US and that sometimes, mejo di maganda ang filipina stereotype sa kanila.  my point of entry was LA.. i was  ready with my invite letter, COE, ID and all that stuff pero wala namang hiningi na kahit ano aside from my passport.

but i agree with prettynvain, avoid wearing revealing/sexy clothes and heavy makeup. napansin ko kasi dun sa isang counter while i was waiting in line na mejo maraming tinanong dun sa pinay na skanky (sorry for the term) yung outfit, complete with fake lv bag

^^ ako din 1st time mo mag travel alone sa US at 1st time ko din magpunta dun last year. wala naman masyado tanong kund hindi san ako titira at gaano ako katagal dun. they asked for my return ticket and that was it. LA din point of entry ko.
plan ko sana bago ako pumila sa immigration ay mag ayos sa washroom kasi tulog ako most of the time. kaso di ko makita yung washroom kaya nung humarap ako sa IO muka akong bagong gisng. although naka pag hilamos at toothbrush naman ako sa loob ng plane minutes before mag land, feeling ko kulang pa din kasi di ko masyado naayos yung hair ko at di masyado nakita yung itsura ko sa salamin bago ako humarap sa kanila.

magsusuot sana nga ako ng black maxi dress & long sleeves din, medyo pansinin itsura niya kasi sa likod ko may design na pa-x na nakikita some part of my back hanggang hips yung haba nung design hough simple lang sa harap.. hehe magpalit na lang ako paglalabas na ng airport hehe pag-imeet ko na fiance ko..
mag-jeans and jacket lang muna ako sa biyahe.

Sa Pinas lang ako natanong;) when and where kami nagkakilala nung fiance ko, when ako nag-graduate where and sino yung Dean. . and tumahimik na kakatanong nung binigay ko yung stat declaration of support and invitation letter ng fiance ko.
[textspeak!] immigration officer na napuntahan ko dito sa BNE Airport is Pinoy;) he asked me if i speak Tagalog, i said i do then sabi niya Kumusta ka? hihi..

talagang sa atin lang talaga ang matanong, hehe.  di ba nga kwento ko, nong unang balik namin ni hubby dito sa KL na mag-bf pa lang kami, ako may working visa, siya student visa (kasi he was under training dati), ang daming tanong ng IO, san kami nagkakilala, ilang taon na daw na kami, bakit daw sa KL pa ang training niya, etc.  Natatawa tuloy mga nasa likod namin na nakapila.  Intrigerang IO.
