I would really encourage you to go the DIY route if you have time and if manageable ang size ng venue/guests. Super rewarding when you see it all come together and when you see the look on your baby's face! Nice ang Alice in Wonderland theme

i'm also planning for a DIY birthday.

kaso sa super busy ko, baka hindi gaanong DIY magawa ko. gusto ko lang magamit yung skills na nakuha ko sa work as event coordinator with my baby's first birthday on feb 2014. (yes, ngayon pa lang nagpaplano na ko. hihi)

kaso i still need some help from suppliers for some of the really important stuff like the buffet setup, the program, the decor. gusto ko i-DIY yung other things like souvenirs and yung candy buffet. pwede ba yun? gusto ko lang magkaron ng choco fondue sa party. may maisasuggest ba kayo for the dessert/candy buffet or choco fondue kung saan ako pwede bumili or kung ano pwede ko gawin? TIA!

hi mga sis...ask ko lang paano ginagawa nyo...confirming estimated number of guests ba muna before booking the venue? kasi baka naman sobra laki ng venue tapos konti lang pumunta  TIA

^ako sis nilista ko muna yung mga expected guests kahit hindi pa confirm. Tska ko naghanap ng venue.

^book the venue first before you invite guests. pero dapat may guestlist ka na para may idea ka na. not only in the venue but with the other things you need to consider. come to think of it, in recent events that i coordinated, yung expense is hindi nafafinalize until may tentative guestlist na kami.

here's a tip. categorize your guests to Guest A and Guest B. Guest A are people you need/want/very important to be in the party. send them invitations first and ask them to RSVP. for every 'NO' you get, send an invitation to Guest B. para hindi ka maover budget and di rin naman konti ang pumunta. give the guests a month to RSVP. give them a deadline and a week before the deadline, call those na hindi pa nag-RSVP.

another tip is a few months before you send the actual invites, you post on FB an invitation notification. it's like:

"Save the Date... (Insert your baby's birthday here)" then tag people you want to be there. dun pa lang magkakaestimate ka na ng mga interesadong pumunta.

Kakatapos lang namin from our nathan's first birthday and its a blast. We are really on a tight budget so 90% of the party is diy. Although im a housewife na by now so i really invest my time.

Candy corner ko cost me P3000 with chocolate fountain n yun.its mickey mouse themed party so the choco pops gumawa ako ng mickey head to put the pops.

Food- this is the major highlights as me and hubby is chefs.so we just dont trust easily ang mga caterers sa quality of food. So we made it at home: menu is simple and easy as hubby is not around this time.

Balloons also is diy. Me and my sister in law. Bought also from divisoria.we did 20 mickey centerpiece,2 mickey balloon column ,balloon centerpiece for buffet and arch in entrance.we put also balloonderitas in ceiling so its not look like too plain.

Hi mga sis, share ko lang DIY birthday ng baby ko with shabby chic ballerina theme. Everything from centerpiece, welcome signage, fence, registration table, stage set up (letters, backdrop 3 panels of 8 x8 ft  i did myself super happy with the outcome. Yun ceiling decor lang ang ginawa ng catering.

Hi thank you mga sis. Talagang its hard if DIY ang party because di mo sure if yun ideas that you have will work sa actual na. Thankfully it did and ang sarap ng feeling whenever i look at the photos  I asked a friend to do the letters. Styro lang din sha sis. The bike is ours, the fence we made them ourselves. lahat kami lang gumawa except the swags, di na namin kaya yun
