Giving water on babies aged 0-12months

when hayley was still newborn pinapag water na siya kasi im not full time breastfeeding, pag formula nakaka constipate so pag walang water mahihirapan mag poops si baby, Dr. Edwards yung for drinking niya we shifted to absolute on her 6th month.

i only gave water to bella when she started on solids at 6 months. wag daw bigyan ng water si baby sabi ni pedia kasi breastmilk is complete na daw and exclusive breastfeeding naman kami ni baby. water that i gave her was dr edwards.

If you're breastfeeding, give water lang daw if the baby is taking solids na. Lagi kong sinasabihan yung yaya and husband ko not to give the baby water, kasi kapag hindi kasi nag-poop everyday si baby nagpa-panic sila and think the baby is constipated so they give her water. Pero sabi ng pedia ko that's normal for a 2-month old breastfed baby, so no need for water.

We started when she was 4 months. A friend advised me that we should start to give her early so that when she's eating solids already she would not resists drinking it. Yes, we have separate bottle for it, I usually place 1-1/2 oz , 40z bottle of Avent. After finishing her milk,we would let her drink water.

after he was born, sabi ng pedia na huwag daw munang bigyan si baby ng water hindi ko alam kung bakit. ganun ba talaga mga sis? ngayon 2 and a half mos. na si baby, and till now ayaw pa din niya ng tubig. i tried giving him wilkins and dr. edwards pero ayaw talaga. kaya pagsinisinok  siya naawa ako kase kahit anong pilit namin ayaw niya..

Hi sis, Advice ng doctor ni baby lagyan ng sugar na isang pinch lang yung water na papainom mo kay baby para may lasa kahit unti. Kasi syempre di sanay si baby ng walang lasa drink nya. Now, effective naman sa 2 months baby ko, kasi before ayaw nya din hirap painumin..

hhmm... baby ko 3 weeks old, ng dinala namin sa pedia for constipation ang sabi ng pedia nya bigyan ng water. pero naalala ko nga nung newborn sya, di namin sya pinagwater for 1 week.

may pink avent bottle ako dedicated for her water. nilalagyan ko ng 2oz. wilkins ang ginagamit namin.

baby ko din, 5wks na and ayaw din ng water.  advise ni pedia around 15mL daw of water after formula.  Mix feed sya now eh.  Everyday try ko nalang siguro mag attempt to give water... 
actually, right now, naka around 50% breastmilk sya (expressed).  Kahit na malambot naman ang poop nya, i can see baby's effort na umiri, na parang nahihirapan.  Namumula sya at umaasim ang muka... normal kaya eto or talagang nahihirapan nga sya???    Though nakaka tuwa syang tingnan umiri, nakaka awa din kasi parang nahihirapan...

I exclusively breastfed my daughter until her 7th month but even so, her pedia advised us to give her 1-2 oz of water daily (since birth to ha). I read a lot of feedback here na hinde daw dapat bigyan ng water pag ebf ang baby so to compromise, hinde ko ine-everyday ang water nya non. However, ilang beses na nangyari na pag nagsskip ng ilan days na walang water si Zoe, nagiging sticky yung throat nya because of milk and ilan beses namin dinala sa ER kase akala ko may sipon/phlegm. Yun pala milk lang na naging sticky. Pag nagwa-water sya nawawala naman.

you dont need to give water for the first 6 mo if you are breastfeeding your baby full time.  on the 6mo when she is starting to eat solid food, thats the time you can give her water. but if you are giving formula milk, you need to give him/her water even below 6mo. distillied - wilkins is ok. masyado kc mahal ang edwards. basta distilled

my twins are 1 month old nung binigyan ko sila ng water since naconstipate sila nung magformula fed na sila 2 months sila nung mag mixed feeding na sila. Pero kahit nung EBF pa sila e binibigyan ko sila ng konting water kasi nagiging sticky sa throat nila yung milk so my pedia advised to give them water after each feeding

ya, basta ngformula ka, you need to give water. nakakconstipate cya tlaga.  Pure breastfed ako until 9mo.  ngayon shes 1, pero mix na kc super konti nlang milk.  Super dami advantage pag breastfed, and tipid pa tpos walang effort sa pag papapayat. yun lang, sobra talaga sacrifice.  even when i go out, bfed padin. mas nakakatamad magpump e.

Do you use sippy cup when giving water? or just with regular bottle?

mga 4 mos siguro..dr edwards bigay namin na water..mag 6 mos na si baby...

my 7mo old little boy uses a regular glass. he hates taking water thru a sippy cup or a bottle

my baby started drinking water at 1month old kasi nga formula na siya and nakakaalis din ng dumi sa dila...

i gave water sa 2 week old baby ko pag may hiccup sya. bothered kase ako since alam kong di sya comfortable pag may sinok sya. yun din kase ang sabi ng pedia nya eh.

I started giving water to Aidan when he was 2 years old. That was the one when he started mixed feedings. IF your baby is already drinking formula milk you eally have to give them water to avoid constipation.
