sunnysan you missed a lot of restos in ubud. When we ate there sobrang mura naman ang food. The only exception was the anniversary dinner at bridges. Pero the rest sobrang ok. The babi guling our guide brought us to where the locals eat kasi ang ibu oka overpriced daw and same taste lang naman....and guess how much I paid for the 3 of us including the meal of our guide..140 php total including drinks. Iba kasi pag you eat where the locals eat. The ideal way to travel in Bali is to stay at ubud for your base and travel around kahit day trips lang pwede na. Mura ang hotel sa ubud plus the food. Stay in Tegal Sari if you can kasi sobrang worth it!! Ganda na mura pa!! Get a friend of mine who works as a travel manager for IBM. my friends and i are going to bali next week. tagal magbigay ng agency namin where kame mag-stay.
pero kasama sa package namin ang halfday in ubod, tapos tanah lot temple. next day is ayung river
rafting. wala kame ITI pagdating namin don. ano kaya pwede namin gawin? madaling araw ang alis
namin dito sa pinas.

ano ba ang ok na attire in bali? di naman ba bawal naka-shorts don? specially sa tanah lot temple?

^when you go to the temple na naka-shorts, may ibibigay sayo na sarong before you enter. ganun yung ginawa sa friend ko kasi naka-shorts siya. pero iniisip ko lang, mas maganda nang naka-pants, just my opinion. pero di naman "bawal" ang naka-shorts kasi nga papasuutin ka naman ng sarong (walang bayad, as far as i remember).

hi sis! sorry super late reply. nyoman was super nice talaga. highly recommended. i remember nung first day namin with him, sabi niya wag daw namin isipin yun time basta ang important enjoy kami hehe. i suggest that you tell him na lang yun mga places na gusto mo puntahan tapos kung ilang days kayo para siya na magsuggest kung anong itinerary nyo. magkakalayo kasi yun mga temples kaya medyo mahirap puntahan lahat in a day.

yung itinerary namin gulo gulo talaga. kasi i have my husband and 2 brothers with me. yun mga brothers ko hindi mahilig magtemple. gusto lang magrelax sa beach. hehe. so ayun. nung 3rd day namin dapat sa morning white water rafting tapos ubud sa hapon pero hindi namin inexpect yun pagod sa pagakyat ng bundok from white water rafting kaya ayaw na nila umalis after. nasayangan nga ako sa bayad namin kay nyoman pero hindi ko sila pwede pilitin kung masakit na talaga katawan nila. :p

to those who are planning to go white water rafting, be prepared to climb down a few hundred steps tapos back up around 250 steps. super workout talaga! nahirapan pa ako kasi i was wearing flip flops. nung paakyat na medyo nadudulas ako hehe.

^^sis dbum, pwede magshorts sa tanah lot. yun mga pinuntahan namin nakashorts lang ako, hindi naman ako pinagsarong. pero i guess kasi hindi talaga kami nakapasok sa actual temple grounds kasi closed. :p not sure about other temples kasi napuntahan ko lang tanah lot, ulun banu bratan and tama ayun.

to this thread thanks talaga. im here in bali since 15 sep and last weekend was able to tour bali with ofcourse the famous japanyoman, he is good and kind.
sharing with u our 2 day trip

10am onwards
temple ar pura desa
visted batik shop,
visited wood carving shop
visited silver shop
ate at ibu oka bbabi guling
then to cofee plantation
then to ubud
then to tanah lot.
then to spuvenir shop
we finished and backed to hotel at 7pm

day 2 sunday
8am till 7
watched barong and krisna dance at batubulan
then had lunch facing the rice terraces
then to lake bedugul
then to botanical garden
then to kuta
paid 800k for 2 days ,gave him 100k additional

anyone in bali right now, will still b here til monday

Hi Sis, can you help me plan my 10 day honeymoon for March 2014. We plan to stay half of the time in Ubud. 1/4th maybe in a beach you can recommend and 1/4th in other areas that are must sees. Can you recomment a good itinerary and good hotels/resorts to stay in? We will be getting in Bali around 7am on the 1st day and leave around 4pm on our 10th day. Can you recommend a good driver and would you also recommend self driving around Bali? Thanks.

Sept 14-17 we were in Bali

Sept 14 itinerary
Airport
-Ubud tegallalang rice terrace (too far but the art works are cheap and nice.  We weren't able to go to the main road, though, where the monkey forest and market are situated).
-Tanah Lot (you can do your shopping for sarong here at Agung, although pag mag Kuta kayo, you can just go to Krisna coz it's a little cheaper there)
*Tanah lot and ubud are far from each other so medyo nahirapan kami mapapayag si driver, hehe!
-Nusa Dua/Tanjung Benoa check-in (this is where the high end resorts are.  We checked in at the oasis bali).

Sept 15 Itinerary
-Enjoying the resort (Nusa Dua).  The beach is just so-so, though.
-Intended to go to Jimbaran Bay for lunch (beach view lang na restaurants).  We were already there but when we saw the price of seafood, grabe, atras.
-Pandawa Beach
-Padang Padang Beach (where the gathering of the Gods happen... daming guapong surfers na caucasian)
-Ulu Watu (it's definitely a must see.  Go there at around 4:30 and wait for the sun to set).
-Checked-in at Kuta Kartika Plaza area, the Vira Bali
-Night out at Legian area (short cab ride from Kuta)

Sept 16 Itinerary
-Enjoyed the pool at the Vira Bali
-Went around shopping at the area (Polo Ralph Lauren and Branded swimwear)
-Surfing lessons at Kuta Beach (100,000 rupiah for an hour)
-Dinner at last minute shopping again at Kuta

Sept 17 Itinerary
-Early flight to Manila

*it was my 2nd time to go to Bali.  The first time I still went to Bedugul but I scrapped it off my list this time kasi isa pa yun sa malayo.  Basta for me, the must see places are Uluwatu and Padang-padang (magkalapit lang to).

By the way, if you guys would need to exchange your peso for rupiah, may 500,000 rupiah pa ko that I can sell to you at no extra charge.  Sa czarina ako nagpapalit before leaving Manila
I just didn't realize that I still have money until we're on our way to the airport (eh wala namang mabibili dun na mura).

Mga sis, ok ba weather in Bali around last week of November? And any nice resort with private beach you can suggest for a 3D/2N stay, max 3N pero di naman super-ginto ang presyo? Chillax trip lang, minimal sightseeing/touring.. I'm considering Bali din kasi for a short trip on November, in case di natuloy original option namin.. TIA!!

We might go to Bali on December. If we do decide to push through with it, I'm planning to spend it in Ubud. For those who have been to Ubud, did you guys get to try the bike tour? Sulit ba? Please share your recommendations for the must visit shops/cafes/restaurants.

Also, meron bang may feedback sa Wayan Sueta Bed and Breakfast? Owner is Balinese and also does tours. I've read this is 30 mins away from Ubud's center pero parang interesting to get to live with a local. The b&b has good reviews on the net. Kung sakali, we might stay 1 night sa Tegal Sari then 2 nights sa Wayan Sueta.

Sulit na kaya ang 4D/3N stay? O better kung 5D/4N?

3 of us will be going to Bali on January 28 to Feb 1 We'll first stay at Staying in Tegal  Sari in Ubud for 2 nights and then transfer to Legian 30 to Feb 1.

May sundo naman kami sa from the airport to the hotel pero after nun wala na kaming guide /transpo when roaming around and transfer to the other hotel.


Me & my friends plan to visit temples din. Excited ako to go dahil lang sa kakabasa ng mga post dito. =)

Hi sis, me & 2 other officemates were in bali last November. Ok naman, nakakapagod kasi nag-"temple run" kami!

Going back to your question, our driver mentioned that peak season na starting june-july, so if you're planning to go there during that time you may need to budget more for accommodations, shopping, and touring. ok din ang weather during those months, sabi nya.

We're 4d3n, but everything seemed like a blur dahil we tried to visit the as many major temples (Taman Ayun, Pura Besakih, Tanah Lot, etc.) as we can. We didn't even have time to shop, kaya napamahal kami kasi pinatulan namin yung shops na bukas pa pagbalik namin ng gabi.

I still believe na for nature, Philippines pa rin ang best place I've ever gone around. Best to learn about Hindu culture sa Bali. Walang panama ang beaches at waterfalls nila sa meron saten

If you have only a handful of temples you wanted to visit, do visit Tanah Lot and Besakih. I wanted to go sana to Uluwatu kaso  we weren't able to go there. Sa Besakih intimidating yung "guides" sa may tabi ng parking lot. Don't bother with them, you'll find guides when you reach the temple complex who accept any amount of donation for them to show you around. The one we have was very, very good, he knew not only the place but also the Hindu concepts that govern their culture.

I also read abt where to shop for cheaper pasalubong, kaso it was out of our way.

Just got back from Bali. Stayed in a rented villa in Seminyak. Here are the resto recommendations:

1. Naughty Nuri's ribs
2. Sardine Restaurant
3. The Coffee House (Thai Kitchen)
4. Potato Head Beach Club
5. Warung Made

All in Seminyak area and cabs are cheap. Always take the Bluebird taxi company. Also, do not miss buying the snakeskin purses from $25-$50 lang. Super cheap! =)
