We avoid kuta and seminyak all together. Ubud was simply amazing....you wont discover the charm of the place in 1 to 2 days of rushing around. You need at least 4 days to discover this wonderful place. Next trip baka we might visit the Amed region sobrang ganda din daw dun. Yan ang gusto ko sa Ubud you dont get scammed. The people are very warm. We got invited to watch a Balinese wedding pa which was amazing. Ayaw kasi namin na your on vacation tapos medjo tense or paranoid ka. Walang lumapit na scammers during the whole trip. The only promotion sa ubud lang is "You want taxi?" and the balinese dances which are not scams.  Ubud is a must try destination before the development gets out of hand.

Book when you get there. Either have your hotel book for you or if your staying in Ubud like we did go to the tourist information center at the center of Ubud and have them book for you. The service is free. If your going to do ayung river rafting go with Bali Adventure rafting. Super safe and fun.

500 steps going down and 250 steps going up. The decent is ok naman kasi yung stairs ng Bali Adventure Rafting sobrang ok with handrails (the other operators wala) so we did not have a hard time considering we were holding our oars going down....the stairs going up is a different matter. Mapapagod ka kasi after the rafting medjo tired muscles nyo. Pero not that bad really kasi you can stop and rest. Kung ako kinaya ko at my age (plus smoker ako) you should not have a hard time. Mahihiya ka din kasi you can see the porters carrying the rafts up while kayo walang dala and sila kaya nila

Stayed at Ubud Kuta and Sanur, should have taken out Sanur kasi the beach is nevermind. I surprisingly like Kuta despite sa sinasabi na magulo raw and over populated ng drunk aussies. Hindi naman, safe naman actually parang Bora vibes.

Great for solo travelers! Should have stayed more sa Ubud. Live like a local and bask sa Ubud culture. I love the art and the timeless vibe. As in relax lang ang tao dun!

We avoided kuta since ive been there before and for me not worth it. Ubud however was totally amazing. 5 days was not enough...6 days to a week would be just right. You can make ubud as a base for your travels in Bali. Our tour guide and driver was amazing

Actully you have it covered unless you want to go up to the volcano which takes 8 hours travel time. Meron madaanan pero i forgot the name. You should ask your guide.

how's the weather in bali during nov? is it still sunny at that time? went there last year sept, it was still sunny around that time and a little drizzle every now and then.

Actually the weather in Bali was weird this year. We went last july and it was supposed to be sunny but it was raining everyday which we didnt mind since it turned the weather cold. It usually rained in the morning which made walking around Ubud really nice during the afternoon. November if im not mistaken is the rainy season.

suggested in trip advisor. Doable naman siya but more than 10hrs ang tour..About the driver fee
tumaas na din pala price daw nila since June.

^^oo nga sis parang tumaas yun price. i emailed japanyoman and got a quote of 450k. 3 lang kami. i agreed na rin kasi ayoko na maghanap ng driver hehe.

we stayed in kuta last year, we were at the beach, surfing everyday.  I think the entire time we just eat, sleep and surf

Ubud is know for the artworks. Dami ka mabili na trinkets for house. My wife went bananas over the items being sold there. And i found a soap factory that sells amazing handmade soaps na sobra mura ended up buying more than 40 bars and it only cost 2k php.(sorry i have to keep this one a secret) Tour guide/driver namin charges 45 usd per day including gas na. Sobrang worth it kasi hindi ka lolokohin. If anyone is interested in his services i can pm you his facebook. . Transacted with him thru facebook before the trip....all payments are collected on the last day of your trip.

@summerprinces get a driver nalang, it can be a little bit more expensive pero if first time nyo whats money naman pero buhay kayo. It was our first time in Bali and we arrived past 1am. Didnt mind paying a premium for our safety...at least our whole trip was enjoyable and no bad incidents. If your staying in ubud lang like we did get a driver for the spots outside of ubud. Ubud itself is really small kaya nyo lakarin in one day. But to explore all those tiny shops and restaurants would take 2 days of non stop walking around. The place is meant for relaxing talaga.

appleberry is right. Kuta is meant for surfing, parties and getting drunk. If you are into magic mushrooms there is a place near where you can get it legally. YES its true. You can get stoned legally on magic mushroom in Bali if your into that stuff. But be warned....only do this if you have tried it.

Do the off beaten path when your in Bali just get a good driver and guide. One of the guests at our hotel was telling us their guide freaked them out. It would ruin your vacation if you had one of those. Also if in ubud stay in Tegal Sari....sobrang mura and sobrang ganda ng hotel na yan!

I'm here in Bali now and we're going home tomorrow. Loved it here talaga! The culture is amazing and the people are very nice. Hindi lang kami masyado happy sa food, hehe. Baka maarte lang. We stayed in Sanur for 2 days then Nusa Dua for 3 days. Next time na pupunta ako dito, i would stay elsewhere. Maybe in ubud, or seminyak/kuta. Super mahal ng food choices dito sa nusa dua. Hirap rin makakuha ng taxi. Tapos malayo talaga sya sa lahat. I guess it was meant to be this way para mapilitan kumain sa hotel hehe. I must say though mas maganda beach sa nusa dua kesa sa sanur. Hate ko lang talaga na walang murang food. :p

Natry namin ang naughty nuri's and ibu oka. Though masarap rin naman ang nasi babi guling, mas ok pa rin talaga ang cebu lechon.
