Hi sis. I live in Utrecht but I'm currently in St. Tropez. Where will you be staying there? Weather in September can vary but bring a light jacket with you and if possible yung water resistant and windproof since it can be rainy in the netherlands .

Hi Sis, I'll be there for a business meeting and will be staying in Mitland Hotel. I have free 2 days kasi before our meeting. So I wanted to use that time para mag ikot ikot sa utrecht and maybe in amsterdam na rin. So, when I did my research I saw this Castle de haar. malayo ba yan sa mitland Hotel? Is it a must see din ba sa utrecht or maybe you have better recommendations? Also, is there any outlet shops or store for those branded things like, prada or channel. My boss wanted to shop also an she wants me to look for those shops kung meron sa amsterdam or utrecht.

I personally haven't been to Kasteel de Haar pero I've checked google maps and it's approximately 30 minutes from Hotel Mitland. Definitely go to the centrum kasi andun canals, dom, shopping centers etc. For outlet shopping, I usually go to Roermond which is 1 1/2 hours from Utrecht Centraal by train. There you can find outlets of Prada, Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren, Diesel and the likes. The only outlet I know in Amsterdam is Esprit which is in Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena.

Hello. Ask ko lang coming from France to Amsterdam we will take the train yung station ba nya sa Amsterdam near the city metro na?or we have to ride a bus pa?
Mag day tour kasi kami ng husband ko will stay in Paris 5 days a day dun is to visit Amsterdam. I know bitin and di sulit ngunit kailangan pag bigyan si Hubby hehe he really just want to see it specially red light district haha. Any tips ng ok na route?

We will get the earliest train which will arrive at 10am and leaves at around 8pm.

^sis get the direct train na from Paris which is Thalys. Alam ko they have a 6am departure arriving Amsterdam Centraal at 9am. Red light district is very near the train station lang. If maabutan nyo rin there is a free walking tour (but actually meron na syang bayad na EUR2 booking fee) that starts from Damrak or Dam Square. Check newamsterdamtours.com

Sis, di ba you have to go back to Rome? If I may suggest instead of going back to Paris from Amsterdam why not go to Rome na? Para di na kayo nag backtrack? You can do a Paris-Amsterdam (overnight)-Rome itinerary.

Nice, malapit lang pala. Matutuwa si Hubby hehe Yes, we will be going back to Rome. My only dilemma is. I've checked with a friend sa CX na ang flight daw from Rome i s 12nn. So di ko alam if we need to be in Rome a night before just to be very sure. Meron kasi flight na darating sa Rome ng 8:30am from either Paris or Amstersdam. I need to know kung nadedelay din ba mga intercountry airlines like ryanair,vuelling. Although di pa ata nagbook client namin ng ticket I was just advised they are getting CX. I'll try to negotiate if we can have diff exit point na country. Para sana mas madali

^If you're taking CX you can request an open jaw routing. That's what I always do para maximize yung time namin and we don't have to backtrack. Try to request a MNL/MXP (Manila-Malpensa)-AMS/MNL. We have daily flights naman out of Amsterdam.

Ay yeah read that you used to work in CX. I'll ask my client if we can do that instead. Para saves more time and money.

Anyway, re red light district. We can just walk to red light from thalys station right?

San makikita yung windmill? We'll take the cruise din pala since its a must in Amsterdam hehe.

^Yup, retired na from the corporate world! 

From Amsterdam Centraal (main train station), you can just walk it to Damrak. Around that area na yung Red Light district. Super lapit lang. So when you get out of the station, you'll see a big square where a lot of the trams are. Tawid lang kayo to the other side of the road and stay on the left.

For your canal cruise, there is a canal boat cruise terminal right at the train station. You can check their website here. We haven't tried this one since we tried a different boat cruise company near Museumplein. But pare-pareho naman sila ng route.

Talking about Amsterdam, naiingit tuloy ako! We love Amsterdam! In case you need a place to stay there, I'll recommend the B&B where we stayed. It's Sunhead of 1617. Pinoy and Dutch ang owners.

Happyprego, sana you can overnight in Amsterdam. The red light district comes alive at night talaga. In the afternoon it looks pretty much like any other street in Amsterdam. There are some working girls whose 'shifts' start early but basically the area is really much better at night.

Ako din inggit. We love Amsterdam too! Wish we can go back! Kami naman we stayed at Hotel V Nesplein. Fantastic hotel and walking distance to many things including the red light district.

^noted. Naexcite ako lalo haha. Oh my husband would love the idea of overnight in Amsterdam. So mag 4 full days kami Paris and overnight in Amsterdam. Yayy.am so happy i found threads here in Gtalk. Before my only goal was to visit many countries as much possible to maximize our free airfare tickets hehe now i would love to stay longer and enjoy hehe mas kampante na din ako ngayon kasi madami na ako alam got alot of tips here.

^I believe that's a better plan! Tell your client CX has ongoing promos. Meron silang roadshow ngayon sa SM North Edsa. They also have the companion fares at 50% off (buy the 1st fare at regular price, 2nd-3rd fares at 50% off).

Average temperature in Amsterdam in November is 10C high and 5C low. Unfortunately, daylight hours are shorter. Typical sunrise is around 7-8AM and sunset at 5PM.   

Nice sana kung maabutan nyo yung Christmas markets in Europe. They usually start last week of November towards December.

i plan to buy tickets for ams airport to centraal(1 way) and anonymous ov chipcard. magkaiba pagbibilihan ko nito? or same lang, sa yellow machines with NS logo on it and sa Main Arrival Hall? pwede ko ba gamitin yung ov chipcard sa train to centraal? train is different from metro  right?

also, did you encounter any difficulty purchasing ov chipcards on their machines? i read kasi na those machines do not accept credit cards that still dont have chips on it.

I love Haarlem!

I worked for a week in Hillegom and too bad it wasn't tulip season.  I frequent Haarlem more than Amsterdam as the latter is crowded at ang daming high sa marijuana.  I was not able to go to zaanse schans but nevertheless, i loved the windmills of haarlem.

The anonymous OV-chipkaart works on all mode of transportation: bus, train or metro. Just don't forget to top it up. Minimum balance on an OV-chipkaart should be 20 euros if you will take the train. Do not forget to check in and out every trip .
