Marose - yup meron sis! 5PM I think or 530PM yun.

Jen, google mo ang "DAP or developmentally appropriate practice" parang isang method iyan of teaching preschoolers or philosophy in early childhood education.

Okay, baka mag-anticipated Mass kami bukas.

Naku DAP nga sila, same as Toddlers Unlimited.  But I find that CSI has more "work sheets" than TU.  Kaya balak ko ilipat si Destructo from TU to CSI pag malapit na sya mag big school.

2.  Yung TU, yes, sila yung sa ALPAPI but they will be transferring to Tordesillas St. by June.  Let me know if you need the contact person and her cell number. UP FLCD (?) Grad.

3. Class noon ni G sa CSI eh 8:30-11:30PM.  Madami silang activities. Dami rin McDo parties sa school haha.  Bawat birthday ng bata nagcecelebrate yung parents with McDo.

4. G's big school is Assumption.

5. Maganda ang UPIS.  Lahat ng friends ko na UPIS achievers and very well-rounded.  :)

6. Balak ko din UP mga anak ko (where else? sakalin ko sila kung hindi), para tipid pero maganda quality of education at maganda campus.

Thanks Jen!  I have a prayer intercession kasi. :)

Girls, do not be overwhelmed sa iba-ibang approaches.  Pick the one that makes the most sense and siempre ang pasok sa budget.  I picked Montessori because it's a method of teaching children based on Maria Montessori's experiences in Italy 150 years ago.  I find that her principles are relevant up to now. :)  It's a good thing that there's a reasonably-priced (well, compared to the other Montessori schools I know) Montessori preschool near our house. :)

Edited to add:  Okay, I was browsing the DAP site, yung naeyc and the principles of DAP are very very similar to Maria Montessori's principles on educating a child.  Yun lang. :)

Marose, yung kabarkada ko na developmental pedia, she suggested before that G should be placed in Maria Montessori in Merville (alma mater ng brother ko, but sya yung orig pa sa Pasay). Usapan namin ni M, basta lipat na lang ang mga bata if they do not develop or respond well to the traditional schools.

Maussie, you like homework? Even as a child, I hated homework.  Siguro sa high school puwede kong ma-accept.  For me there is something objectionable in requiring a child to do drills (kaya ayaw ko din ng Kumon or Enopi) repeatedly or worksheets.

I've seen my neighbors' kids who study in Centro Montessori so happy after school as compared to the Atenista.  Eh when I speak to the Montessori kids, mas impressed pa ako sa kanila than the Atenista.  But I cannot generalize naman.

So far, I am very satisfied with the Montessori approach.  I've seen the effect with the older kids in M & M's school.  Walang worksheets or homework sa school nila but those kids at 6 years old can read, write, do simple arithmetic and even write short compositions (mga 2-3 sentence stories ba).  They are also very confident and articulate.  At, because of the mentoring system (older kids mentor or guide the younger kids in class), walang bullies.  The older kids feel a certain sense of responsibility towards the newbies.

Marose, I like reasonable amount of homework. Ayaw ko ng over.  Gusto ko lang kasi may discipline.  Para sanay din sa pressure when they get to college. Pag HS daw, grabe daw homework. Tapos iba iba nga eh, yung ibang former AC na lumipat ng Montessori school, nahirapan daw sa college and vice versa.  Sobrang kakalito!  :(

I think with girls' schools, reasonable ang homework.  Ganyan din naririnig kong feedback from Tet (taga UP Law) who has 2 daughters in AC.

Sa Ateneo, 5-7 assignments a day daw.  Mas grabe pa sa Xavier.

I know that homework instills discipline and good work habits but too much can kill a child's enthusiasm or love for learning.  More than anything, I want my children to always have a yearning to learn.

Chanel is 2250 yung hindi refillable.

Jen, di mo pa nakuha nso birth cert?

My friend's son goes there.

Rata, anong ebooks mo?

Nasa bahay in designated folders/envelopes at nakalagay sa fire proof document bag.

Jen - Assumption  :)

Marose - baka puede kong disguise as a girl si Destructo. Bad boy talaga dating.  Ang dilemma no talaga sya. Woodrose daughter nya and son nya dito nya nilagay. Siempre UP grad nanaman sya, few years ahead sa akin sa Diliman.  Good friend ni Rachel Santos of UP Law) sobrang magkalayo sila ni G, mahihirapan kami sa logistics, and mas mahirap kami tumakbo pag may emergencies.  :(  True, kakaloka yung choosing a school.

Kelan dumating sayo sis?

Hmm..si Kim ata ang friend ng isa sa kanila when I checked one of their profiles.  Di ko maalala which.

Yung birth certs, nakikipaki na lang ako sa one of my male BFFs na dating councilor now congresswoman ang kapatid, na pakunin sa Makati City Hall ang staff ng mga NSO needs ko hehe.  Sya pa sumasagot ng mga merienda and stuff nung staff.  :D  Grabeng mahal kasi nung sa ecensus eh. Double the actual cost. Sabi sa inyo kuripot ako. Wala pang fashion sense haha.
