I had mine inserted kanina.. Nafeel ko agad parang ngcacramps yung uterus ko! It feels like having a really bad dysmenorrhea.. They gave m mefenamic acid every 6 hours.. Hope di na ganito bukas.. Copper sa kin, 1500 sa private clinic!

Mga sis masakit ba yung IUD nung nilagay? Or syempre may anesthesia? Conscious ba kayo nun?

Masakit, walang anesthesia and conscious pag nilagay. You can take pain reliever naman. :-)

Update:

I have mine removed a week ago.. 2 weeks after insertion i started spotting then i went for a check up to check for the placement of my iud.. wala daw sa place.. it was placed sa opening lang ng cervix ko..the OB that i went to don't want to remove it.. God knows why eventhough i asked to do so.. after 3 weeks of bleeding.. i finally had it removed.. the problem is I'm still bleeding! i really worried.. they can not see anything wrong with may ultrasound.. i've been prescribed with antibiotics for a week and now they gave me anti bleeding.. but im still bleeding..

Had mine (copper IUD) two days ago. Uneasly lang pero tolerable and no bleeding PB said some don't bleed only cramping for few minutes then nawala na. I was adviced by my OB to check it by myself during shower, okay naman kahapon and yesterday. F/up check up ko is after one week palang sana. And also kaninang shower time ko. Until after few hours I was feeling like there was thick discharge coming out. I checked it nag wiwi ako at gosh to my surprise nahawakan ko na yung thread niya. Was so scared and eventually went to my OB.  May tendency daw kase na mahulog or ma dislodge because its not fit lining of my uterus is like short or long. So hayun wala pang one week 2 days palang nga tinanggal na siya. Kasi pag check nasa baba na siya. So di daw niyan ako pwede sa IUD sad to say

Puwede ba ilagay ang iud right after normal delivery? Or bawal siya? Lalo kung breastfeeding? Kasi yung pamangkin ko na 16yo and preggy will give birth this May, gusto kasi namin "iwasan" na mangyari uli na mabuntis siya (just in case). Gusto sana namin yung tipong habang unconscious siya ilalagay na para hindi niya alam at gawinh excuse to f*ck around again

^ sis as per my ob, hindi magandang candidate for IUD yung kapapanganak pa lang and / or madami nang anak kasi streched yung uterus and may tendency na ma displace yung IUD.

Worried lang ako, How many months or years bago pwede alisin? Kelangan ba palitan every now and then? (Sorry sa newbie questions) Pano pang physically active like nag yoyoga/intense workout or jogging makakaappekto kaya? I might go to my ob next week para mag pa papsmear and check up. Ayoko kasi mag pills, kahit gusto ko yung effect niya sa ibang girls na nakakalaki boobs di ko pa rin ma-take kasi sobra yung migraine ko dito Kaya eto na lang yung option ko tyaka abstinence from sex haha!

Hndi naman sis kaso ang nangyari sa akin bumaliktad ang matres ko so parang napasok paloob ang IUD ko tapos yun muntikan na hindi makuha kasi yung thread na dapat nakalabas eh bumaliktad na rin baka daw kasi d na makita

Yes sis sya ang cause ng bleeding ko almost 6 days akong hindi nakapag trabaho dahil sa sobrang lakas ng bleeding ko imagine 8pads per day of xxl all night na napkin

Gusto ko sana itry mag IUD instead na pills, kaya lang may mga ganito palang effects? And may mga cases na natatanggal? Parang nakakatakot pala

Sa mga nagtatanong na wala pang baby, sa pagkakatanda ko hindi nilalagay ang IUD sa hindi pa nagkaka-anak. I think dahil masikip pa and it would probably be painful pag pinilit na ilagay.

For those looking for cheaper IUD placement (installation... errr can't think of a much proper term... hehe  ). Try sa mga midwives or your local government healthcare facility. For some reason, the bigger hospitals lalo na yung mga naka tie-up sa healthcards. Yung mga OB nila hindi nagt-tanggal nor nagkakabit ng IUD. .

Yung cases na natatanggal or dislodged, after initial placement, you will be asked by your OB or healthcare physician to come back. First visit if I remember it right should be in a week. Pag hindi siya nag move, you will have to come back after your regular period at least once to check if it is still in place and to let your doctor know of any complaints or irregularities.

Once this is all set, you don't need to come back until it is due for replacement or you want it removed for family planning purposes.

I do know of a friend who got pregnant while on IUD. Buti na lang they detected it early and had the IUD removed agad, Normal pregnancy naman except they got alarmed and of course naiba yung family planning nila.

Similar to other forms of pregnancy prevention tools, IUD is 99.x% effective. And like what others have said and experienced, sometimes it may or may not work for you.

I've never been pregnant and I just had an IUD inserted a couple of weeks ago. The doctor was apprehensive because of the no-baby-yet thing, but I did my research and that belief has since been debunked.


Mine was rather expensive, since I had it done at a big hospital, but I know of other clinics (not necessarily government clinics) that may offer it cheaper.


My doctor warned me that the IUD might be expelled, so I have to come back for a transvaginal ultrasound on my next period to see that it's still in place.


Is it painful? Apparently, yes. I think I'm an abnormal case, though, because aside from a little discomfort from the speculum and doctor fiddling down there, I didn't feel much pain. My doctor told me other women would squirm in pain or even scream when she inserted the IUD. Your mileage may vary. I just have a high pain tolerance in general, I think.


Expect some awful cramps for a day or two as well.

Hello po. I'm thinking of getting IUD. Questions lang po, ikaw po ba ang bibili nung Securit - T IUD (according to TRUST Family Planning) then go sa OB for insertion? may alam po kaya kayo na ob gyne in trinoma or sm north? how much po kaya yung fee ng doctor and nung insertion? Thank you!
