sis cldy how did baby J react to the bananas? Did he like it?

Hailey can now properly mash food using her gums and swallow, with very little food wasted. The other day I got to sit down with her to eat, she literally stuffed her mouth full with banana and didn't choke or gag!

I tried some pita bread with a very thin layer of cream cheese, she just threw it over the side of her booster seat. I'll try again in a few days.

My mom brought us ground rice and homemade pork broth, since we're BLW and I don't want it to go to waste I cooked the ground rice in the pork broth (no salt) and added finely chopped tomatoes and celery (also tried with grated carrots and squash) but she didn't like it either. We'll keep trying though.

She likes the happy baby multi-grain cereal but I don't want her eating that all the time.

^hi khriseee! He loved the bananas! I think he liked that it was sweet, hehe! I was scared to try the BLW method that's why I mashed all of his fruits so far. But might try to give him banana chunks this weeked. I also bought a feeder din so will try frozen fruits also.

Today he'll try apples for the first time, i hope he likes it too and doesn't get constipated :)

Then this weekend i'll cook and puree potato, carrots and squash. Btw, where do yo buy your persimons? Chaka would you know where I can get peaches? I wanna have J try it kasi but definitely not the canned ones kasi its too sweet tapos may preservatives pa.

So fun, planning the baby's menu. Haha!  ;D

My exclusively-breastfed baby just started eating solids. I gave her 2-3 tablespoon of cerelac (measured while dry) each meal twice a day but she still seems hungry. how much cerelac should I feed my baby and how often? tia!

^i started giving my baby 2oz ata yun then when he turned 7mos naging 4oz. it depends on your baby's appetite actually. and unsolicited advise lang, hindi maganda ang cerelac as your baby's first food :) that's full of sugar

^^ my nephew who was fed with cerelac became a picky eater. my panganay we concentrated on home made veggies and fruits walang problema sa pagpapakain ngayon.

i dunno if its coincidence or what.

i also did not measure ang food intake nya. sa simula naman tikim tikim lang sila.

@sleepy_grfld

yung nasa freezer, natry na namin na 1 week nasa freezer bago kainin ni baby. i think it will last more than a week basta super frozen talaga. kung sa ref naman, pwede naman consume within the day basta hindi pa nagalaw ni baby or nalawayan. we tried kalabasa, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, potato, sayote, etc (dami na kasi. hehe.). pwede mong gawin, pakuluan nyo na yung sliced-up veggies sa morning tapos refrigerate. tapos mash nalang before feeding. kami madalas nirereheat pa namin before mashing. kung fruit naman, mas madali kasi no need to cook na. ;)

Hi mommies :)
joining in..
Kakastart ko lang magintroduce ng solid kay baby.. Mejo mahirap pa sya pakainin.. sabi kasi ng doctor nya squash, potato and egg yolk lang daw muna.. ayaw nya ng potato and squash.. egg yolk naman nagsuka sya.. lactose intolerant kasi..  a new friend advised me to use organic cereal instead.. kaso nung nagsearch ako ang daming choices iba ibang brand and labels pa @_@
what's the best brand po kaya ng organic cerial? and yung best po for a lactose intolerant child. TIA :D

hi new_iza! gulat ako na eggyolk kasama sa first foods na nirecommend ni pedia ha. samin kasi medyo hinuhuli yun kasi mas malaki ang chance na maka-allergy ang itlog. yung baby ko, 8 months na sya ngayon so kumakain na sya ng lugaw na may halo na mashed/finely chopped cooked veggies or fruits. minsan lugaw with fresh tilapia na steamed.

nung nagstart kami mag-solids, ang mga tinry muna namin are potato, carrots, squash. yun kasi yung mga madaling i-mash and usually mas tolerable kay baby since madali pa sila mabilaukan. advice ng pedia is to give the same food for 3 days para madaling mag-detect ng food na allergic si baby. example, first three days puro mashed potato lang. pag hindi naallergy si baby change naman to squash kunwari. kasi pag naghalo-halo ka ng food sa simula, hirap malaman kung alin ang naka-trigger ng allergy.

dapat lang cooked until super tender then mash ng super fine (during the start of giving solids ha. eventually kasi pwedeng may small pieces na pag marunong na ngumuya). tapos lagyan mo ng breastmilk (if you're breastfeeding) or timpladong milk yung mashed food at ihalo ng mabuti. ang consistency nya sa first days of solids ay soupy pa. pero eventually pwede mo na gawin na mas malapot ng onti. mixing the food with milk helps baby tolerate the food kasi sanay sila dati sa milk. so pag nalasahan nila yung milk sa food, baka mas magustuhan nila.

goodluck! :)

My pedia recommended to buy the brown rice cereal for babies. Nabibili sa healthy options. Tapos hahaluan ng mashed veggies or fruits plus milk (either formula or BM)
