First time mom here and I was really excited to introduce solids to baby. So far I've given her squash (her first), sweet potatoes, and now we're on carrots. :) thinking what to give her next. Apples? But they say wag muna kasi sweet?
I steam the veggies and use the munchkin grinder. When I used it, the "juice" from the squash squeezed out or baka na over steam ko Lang kaya Medyo watery. So for me pranng messy gamitin yung munchkin grinder or it's just me. Hehe.

So I thought of making finger foods.
Pero mula nung inintroduce namin yung clusivol, bumalik yung appetite nya.
Hindi na kami ulit hirap pakainin sya.

I dunno kung dahil sa clusivol ba yun or what...

^that's with podia's advise ba? hindi kasi advisable na kung ano anong gamot ang binibigay sa baby kahit na pang baby pa na gamot yun. you also have to consider na baka teething kaya hirap kumain, kailangan i-distract etc. normal lang na mahirap pakainin ang bata.

^^apples should be okay. hindi naman artificial sweetener ang dahilan kaya sweet ang apples so it should be ok.

Hay.

^ I delayed giving citrus fruits to my children because citrus is highly allergenic and I have a history of allergy.

1.3 years na si baby when i introduced citrus. pedia says after 1st birthday na magtry ng oranges, dalandan, etc.

super sweet na yung canned fruits because of the syrup. fresh mangoes nalang, at least yun kahit matamis, naturally sweet sya.

And sorry but i think it should be a no brainer not to give your baby canned fruits. that has a LOT of preservatives & is TOO sweet already. di hamak naman na mas ok ang mangga and it's not sweet due to artificial sweeteners.

Citrus alam ko pwede for 6m up but to be n the safe side, better pag 1y up. Masyado acidic daw kasi.

about kasi dun sa canned peaches, i was fastly surfing the net then dami ko nabasa na nagbibigay nga nung peaches from the can... kaya parang na windang/ alarm nga ako...
anyway, with my senses now, bad ang canned foods talaga sa baby, it's a no-no...

With citrus, from what i remember re what my kids' Pedia said there's a study daw that some babies metabolizes this the same way their body metabolizes aspirin. Aspirin is a big no-no for kids with strong family history of asthma. That's why ideally this should be given when they're older

Re peaches, aside from preservatives, you're at risk too of botulism. Botulism can be found both in honey and syrup

Mangoes are ok. My kids love mango. But before giving it to your baby, try it first. Cause there are varieties na makati sa lalamunan. Also when you cut it, don't cut it too close to the pith to avoid the fibers surrounding the core
