^nestle has the creamy yogurt. that one doesnt have fruits mixed in it.

for butter, anchor has the unsalted kind

for cheese, any cheese is ok as long as it is pasteurized. so you should avoid unpasteurized ones such as blue cheese, kesong puti and brie (but from what im reading there are types of brie that are pasteurized). for my son i usually buy him the anchor cheese slices or the happy cow/milka.

for the tofu, check wholesomebabyfood.com. there are recipes there on how to use tofu. for us, when we cook table food with tofu, we give tofu to the baby too. another option is to diced it up and add it to his soup, something similar to what they do to miso soup.

re: YOGURT, nestle has the plain one na nasa malaking tub ata yun.

^there's also creamy yogurt in small containers. that's what i buy since the big tubs hindi mabilis maubos. plus i noticed over time the taste changes. a small tub lasts for 1.5-2 days for my son

another good brand I discovered recently is hacienda macalanan. it's less tart compared to nestle. im not sure if this is widely available but i usually buy this from shopwise libis and 711

^lapu lapu or maya maya is good choice. you can have filleted in the market. another cheap alternative is tilapia. tried to backread, i shared recipes on how you can cook fish

for biscuits, the fist ones i gave to my kids were the organic types like the arrow root of healthy times and the bscuits from earth's best

^^sakin salmon and lapu lapu usually binibigay ko. i just cook it by brushing the foil with butter then season with konting pepper & ginger, sometimes i also put a little garlic din then cook in the oven.

hello mga sis.
medyo OT pero im just like any mom who likes the best for her baby.
what food/ supplement do you give to your baby so she gets enough of DHA?  kasi diba DHA is good for the brain development, usually present sa mga fish... anong specific food/supplements ang give nyo na available here in Pinas?

ako kasi nung preggy ay may strict diet due to my gestational diabetes, wherein i had to take 4x insulin injection / day.  kaya si baby nung lumabas, 2.5kg lang... nasobrahan ata sa diet...  :'(  kung alam ko lang at kung walang problem sa diabetes ko at that time, i would take DHA (omega3) supplements sana for the baby...  :-X  i know some preggies na they take it eh, pero ako, di na ako nag-take kasi ang dami ko ng medicines during my pregnancy.

^why supplement when you can give healthy food for your baby? search ka sa google kung what food ang pwede for baby na rich in DHA or omega 3.

its not really recommended to give supplements or medicines for babies as much as possible.

^^Yung black, fatty part ng bangus belly is rich in DHA. You can also toast some dilis, also very rich in DHA (esp the heads) and grind it up tapos sama mo sa lugaw.

hello mga sis,
paano ba gawing enticing/ attractive kainin ang fish, chicken & meat for my 9month old baby?
i just cook them either steam or steam-boil and then blender... pansin ko ayaw ni baby kainin etong mga eto even if i mix with separately prepared veggies (squah, brocolli, cauliflower, sayote, beans, carrots) or fruits (banana, avocado).
Pero kapag with mango, ayos, ubos na ubos!  syempre sarap ng mango kasi sweet kaso diba dapat hindi sya masanay sa sweet.
I have just introduced other spices or pampalasa namely: cheddar cheese, cream cheese, yogart, some garlic powder.
Pero pahirapan parin pakainin sa kanya ang fish, chicken & meat.  Yung salmon, naku, as in 1cube per meal lang tapos pahirapan pa kahit ang daming other kasamang food.  Tyan ng bangus, naku, luwa nya agad!  panu kaya gawing masarap yun?

^at 9 months old, my baby already eats chunky food: rice, fork-mashed veggies and meats. hindi mo na dapat i-blender. later on makaka-problema ka niyan pag nasanay sa smooth textured food.

for meats, try to boil/steam them with a pat of butter, white onions and herbs. my son loves food with italian seasoning

^^YOGURT is not a pampalasa or spice. i give YOGURT to my baby as a snack/merienda. don't be afraid to experiment with seasoning like basil, dill, pepper, oregano, parsley, thyme, butter etc

My 15mos old son recently discovered FRESH TOMATOES. What we do is to blanch a whole piece for a minute in boiling water so easier to remove the skin. Then we slice it in half and remove the seeds inside. He eats it like sliced apples. Nakakatuwa! Una wary ako bigyan Baka magka acidic reaction but so far none naman. We make sure we give it only after he eats something substantial and not on an empty stomach.

for next month right? i saw your post in the cake thread. tamang tama, season for fruits. the other week nga, my househelp was able to buy fresh mangoes. nagmamakaawa son ko for some, eh may cough & allergy. may variants kasi ng mango na makati sa throat. i just made him taste a little but ayaw tantanan. sabi ng husband ko to just let him eat how much he wants, anyway he was due to take his antihistamine na naman after his meal. nakahanap ng kakampi.  ;D

im hoping this little one wont grow up a picky eater. yung daughter ko kasi nag-start maging picky when she started school. siguro nakikita yung baon ng classmates hotdogs and nuggets, which i dont normally buy for her before. if i dont buy her nakaawa kasi parang deprived. lol. nung nasa 1yo-2yo she eats anything naman. but at least she still eats veggies kaso pili lang nga. her fave are broccoli, squash, asparagus, carrots, young corn, water chestnuts, kangkong. bilib ako with my 2 yo nephew. he eats any veggies an adult wont even dare touch: amapalaya, okra, eggplant. he's not big though on meats, which is a problem naman ng SIL ko.
