My cat just died today. He was actually better na after we checked him out after a 10 day stay in VIP last month. We came in today for his 3rd check up in VIP Mandaluyong. He was fine when we came in but when I put him down to have his weight taken, he freaked out and RAN OUT THE DOOR. It was open kasi another client was coming in/going out.

In short, my cat WAS RAN OVER by a car in front of VIP today. We are ultimately heartbroken kasi we were taking him in for  JUST a check up and he was getting better. Tapos namatay sa sagasa.

Sa labas pa mismo ng hospital.

Doc Neilsen attended to him. We left him there for burial kasi di ko na kaya.

If you take your pets to VIP Mandaluyong I highly suggest that you consider suggesting more security for the pets inside. Kahit yung weighing scale man lang ipasok nila sa room. Or maglagay sila ng maliit na fence sa labas ng guard para kahit makadaan sa glass door, may fence pa rin. Pets are animals, and they naturally freak out in unfamiliar places, especially with other animals around. Useless ang magagaling na doktor and gamit kung anytime pwedeng mangyari yung ganyan. Wala tayong lahat kalaban laban.

I usually bring him in a harness (which he can easily twist out of when he wants to naman). I haven't put it on him since he got sick kasi sa chest siya nakakabit and may chest problem nga siya. Kung alam ko lang sana di ko na lang siya pinacheck up.

halos ganito din kwento sakin ng neighbor namin about their cat, nagfreafreak out daw talaga sila. mabait yung cat na yun lagi ko nakikita sa store nila tahimik at nakahiga lang lagi, sabi ko pa "feeling nya aso sya". karga lang daw nila lagi yun pag uuwi, eh one time nagulat daw sa lakas ng busina, ayun pinilit tumakas pero niyakap na lang daw nya kahit kinakalmot sya kasi baka masagasan. tapos lately naman daw may biglang humawak at tumawag sa cat, ang ending sa gulat ng pusa pinagkakagat sya, puno ng kagat yung kamay nya. Nabasa ko sa isang article na ang cats daw dapat nasa crate talaga pag ilalabas, iba daw kasi ang nature nila compared to dogs. Very sneaky rin sila kaya di adviseable ang collars/harness lang kung nasa labas kayo kahit pa housetrained sila.

Condolence ulit sis and salamat for sharing kahit napakatragic nitong nangyare let's all learn from this incident.

I had an inkling he was going for the street so inunahan ko na talaga lahat ng cars to stop. As in nagcause ako ng traffic dun to let him pass through to the other side. May isa lang talaga na nakalusot. He slowed down but dun sa ilalim niya dumaan yung cat ko. The guards naman, "sobrang bilis daw ng pangyayari" di nila nakuha yung plate number. Hello, nakatakbo ako sa street and nakastop ng traffic. Pagkastop kasi ng car, I scooped him up na and inabot ko dun sa one of the nurses na tumakbo after me. Wala siyang apparent bale or anything when we went to the ER and was treated for shock. Pero later nagkainternal hemorrhage siya. Try pa sana mag aspirate and blood transfusion pero major artery sa leg niya tinamaan kaya di na umabot.

At the door sa VIP, you'll notice merong kabitan ng maliit na harang but they don't attach it. Even if I brought him in a crate, I'd still have to weigh him right there, and kung magffreak out siya, dun at dun din kasi the doors are glass and kitang kita yung labas.

Ang dami kong "sana" ngayon. This morning excited pa kami pa-check up. Never ko inisip na di na siya uuwi, and mawawala siya sa walang ka-kwentang kwentang paraan

I really hope they do something about that entryway para di na siya maulit sa iba. Or kahit yung weighing scale man lang ipasok nila somewhere safe.

I hope what happened to your cat would not be in vain. Sana nga VIP would do something to improve their security.  A second security gate/barrier is really in order kasi tapat nila is a busy street. I have always feared na baka may masagasaan.

bakit ba kasi hindi ipasok yung timbangan sa loob ng consultation room? ano ba yun nasa lobby? naturingan silang one of the best vet hospitals pero security lang di nila maayos.

...so sorry for your loss sis, napaka-traumatic naman nangyari lalo't pagaling na yung cat mo tapos nasagasaan lang.    kawawa naman...

i don't think their weighing scale could fit in any of the consultation rooms. malaki kasi ang digital scale nila and tama lang size ng rooms. kapag nandun na kasi si doc nielsen, assistant, ako at husband ko, parang hindi na nga kami kasya eh. maybe they could be asked to put some sort of stainless fence (parang playpen for pups) dun sa weighing scale for some security? i dunno lang if cats could still climb out of that, maybe noh?  kasi kaya nga nila mag-climb ng walls eh. maybe a special room na lang for weighing our pets?
they can't make one sa lobby kasi their waiting area is so full usually. maybe liitan ang pet food section? put up a small room na naisasara?

^ sana remove nalang the mini store there. Move the stuff to the pharmacy nalang. Tapos banda dun ilagay yung scale, with a security fence or door.

twelve5 Yun din naisip ko the first time we went. Instant death pag nakalabas ang pet mo.

abuanddiego Yup it's in the lobby. Tapat ng door so yun ang unang pupuntahan ng animal talaga kung gusto tumakas. Here's the funny part. When sinamahan ko my friends and cousin sa taas so they could see my cat one last time, pag baba namin, guess what, may tinitimbang na dogs dun, and tatlo ang nakaikot/nakabantay around the scale. O diba instant bantay sila bigla.

cocoysmom I think kahit the small pen around the scale would work well for small pets. When I had my cat groomed sa kabila I left him inside the pen while waiting and he just walked around. But that's just the scale.

Sa tagal namin pabalik balik dun there was not a day na walang pet na nagpee sa lobby dahil sa takot. They're animals nga naman. That should be enough of a sign na the pets are uncomfortable. Weighing scale or not, pets running out the door into a very busy street should have been their first priority when designing that lobby.

Sabog pa rin ako. All his stuff and toys are still here and I have no idea what to do with them. Thank you for your condolences. Alam kong di siya person pero sobrang sakit lalo kasi I know he was depending on me to keep him safe and healthy and I failed him

^ awww, sis, dont be so hard on yourself. Wala naman may gustong mangyari yun. I know this is easier said than done. Honestly, If i were in your shoes, for sure ganyan din iisipin ko.

Give yourself time to grief. Kelangan, maski di human yung pinag-gri-grieve-an mo. We do understand you.

Dyan din namin dinadala yung tzu namin and yun nga natatakot madalas lalo na pag may big dog na tahol ng tahol. pero dahil sa dog sya, normal na nakaleash sya so di ko masyado ni-worry yung baka makatakas sya habang nagttimbang. Ngayon ko lang naisip na pano nga naman pag cats ang tinitimbang....sana nga maayos na ng VIP yung space planning nila.

oh if that's the case then sana nga maglagay na nga lang ng playpen around the scale. i've never owned a cat sis kasi kaya hindi ko masyadong alam ang behavior nila...basta in my mind, they're really fast and able to jump up high. i hope your case would give VIP something to think about.

don't blame yourself sis, you didn't fail your cat. you had him admitted when he fell ill and gave him a good life. it's just so unfortunate that this accident happened, syempre hindi mo naman ginusto yun so pls don't blame yourself. my condolences again sis...i too lost my pet august last yr, one yr din syang inalagaan ng VIP pero nawala din even with the interventions that could be done...i still miss her very much mag-1 yr na.

magagree ako sa kanila sis nutata, wag mo masyado sisihin sarili mo. sobrang sakit, depressing, hirap ng nangyare but always keep in mind that there is a reason for everything. Mahirap man intindihin sa ngayon pero dadating ang time na maiintindihan mo kung bakit hinayaan ni God mangyare. Just ask for His assistance na maging strong despite what happened and for the ability to fully understand what happened. Naisip ko rin, pwede siguro tong makarating sa VIP since medyo marami dito ang clients nila, you can tell them mga sis yung mga naisip nyong solution para masigurado ang safety ng mga clients nila.

Ngayon ko Lang naisip na delikado nga pala pwesto ng scale nila. Yung chi namin ng ipa vaccine sa VIP, me nakasabay kaming big dog, eh Kahit maliit ang chi, sinugod pa din Nya Yung big dog sa me pinto, buti na Lang naka close, at Siguro nagtatapang tapangan Lang kaya ayun napa pupu sa kaba si chi sa me doormat

sana po may makatulong pa sakin. my mom bought a chihuahua, 3 months old daw, female. may problem kasi kami ngayon, bigla nalang nya sinuka yung pagkain niya which is kanin and hinimay na bangus (yesterday morning) tapos nun increased ang drowsiness niya, kahit tinatawag ko siya di siya dumidilat, ang tamlay pa. kahapon din siya binilan ng cage so nung nag vomit siya andun na siya sa cage, then nung kinagabihan pinakain namin ulit, kasi nga hypoglycemic na siya, corned beef naman yung ulam nya and malata na rice, ayun sumigla na siya, pero yung poop niya watery. ayaw niya din uminom ng tubig, kaya yung 1cc syringe dun ko siya pinapainom.this morning naman pinakain ulit siya ng mom ko ng fish, tilapia yata and rice ulit na malata. pag-uwi namin from church sinuka niya ulit. so inassume ko na ayaw niya ng fish. masigla parin siya until after lunch (still nasa cage siya,pero nasa lap ko siya from time to time, ok narin yung poop niya) pumunta ako ng mall saglit tapos pag-uwi ko dinala na siya ng mom ko sa animal clinic na malapit (wala daw vet, dalawang assistant yung andun) nag heart attack daw (naging stiff yung limbs na naka stretch) tapos nag inject ng antibiotic daw (mom is not sure) na good for 24 hrs. daw. nag reseta din ng mondex and metoclopramide. naging okay siya for a while,tapos nag heart attack daw ulit. ngayon kalong lang siya tapos napaka tamlay niya. hindi masyado dumidilat. i'm giving her chest compression din. tapos nag aadminister din ng mondex mga every 5 mins nagbibigay si mama. before all of this nga pala, lagi daw tumatalon from bed (katabi kasi ng mom ko sa pagtulog) eh medyo mataas yung bed, sinabihan ko nadin lahat ng andito sa bahay na ingatan yung head kase may molera pa. may kalaro din siyang puppy dito na askal mga 4 months old, tapos lagi siyang hinaharot, yung chi naman tinatahulan narin niya eventually. wala na kasi akong alam na makakatulong sakin.( first time din namin magkaron ng ganitong dog. so super TIA sa makakatulong.

EDIT: she died already.((( I tried to revive her. i suspect seizures yun? naglalaway kasi muna,tas parang nagbabadyang susuka, tapos mag slow down yung heartbeat nya.( we're all crying.

^i'm sorry about ur dog sis. baka nagkaroon sya ng head trauma and internal bleeding kaya nagkaron ng seizures. nasabi nyo ba yung nangyare sa clinic? yung about sa pagtalon sa bed?

^  sobrang nakakalungkot, yun nga ang mali ko, hindi ako sumama sa clinic, hindi yata nasabi ng mom ko dun, sobrang nagsisisi ako talaga. sana buhay pa siya ngayon kung nabigay yung right medication.

^mahirap kasi talaga pag nagkaroon ng emergency, di naman sila nakakapagsalita, so sa kwento lang talaga natin magrerely ang mga vets. kaya maganda na kilala natin mga dogs natin from head to toe at sabihin natin buong detalye sa vets para mas mabilis ang diagnosis.

isipin mo na lang sis that there is a reason for everything, learn from what happened. minsan ganito talaga ang buhay, we have to learn the hard way, ang importante natututo at nag-iimprove tayo.

^yes,thanks a bunch sis.napaka painful. 3 days lang siya nagtagal samin. nag search narin ako about caring for chi pups before siya dalin samin,nagkulang lang talaga ko.+.+

^May rason si God bakit nangyare ang ganyan and I believe that now is the time to make up for all the pagkukulang. learn from your mistakes and use all the available resources para makaiwas na sa pagkakamali. I'll be praying for you and your late puppy.

@ms.primadonna, i was about to give advise pa naman, yun pala wala na chi mo,so sad...baka nga nauntog yun. 3 days pa lang pala sa inyo.sayang. yung chi namin 1 1/2 months nung napunta sa amin, too young pa nga kaso no choice yung binilhan namin kase namatay mommy nung chi eh. buti naman at so far lagi sya masigla,over nga eh.napaka hyper. nung puppy pa sya, puro dog food pinapakain namin sa kanya pero ng nakatikim na ng rice and ulam, ayun mas preferred na nya yun. pero kung wala kami mapakain,dog food pa rin sya.
